WOW!! I loved this book so much I couldn't put it down, read it in one sitting! I couldn't get enough of the smoking' hot chemistry between Kash and Bailey! I also loved every single twist and turn, the mystery of the story and the direction it was going had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Every time I just knew what was going to happen next...it never happened, I loved it! This is so different from any other Tijan book I've read previously and I can honestly say this is by far my favorite! I CAN.NOT.WAIT for the rest of this trilogy to see what happens next! Highly recommend!!

I’ve enjoyed several of Tijan’s previous books so I was really excited about The Insiders. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this being my first ARC, but I must say I was hoping for something a little more refined, something only needing a bit of polishing. There were a few too many sentences that were worded funny and areas that were a little unclear/confusing. Aside from that, I generally liked the storyline, but thought it could be spiced up more in the middle.

The book starts out with an attempted kidnapping thwarted by one of the supposed bad guys who helps Bailey for unknown reasons. Bailey finds out she was attacked in order to get to her billionaire tech genius father, Peter Francis, who she never knew about. She is then taken to one of her father’s estates to be protected by an associate of his named Kash. There is immediate attraction between the two, and while things seem to be heating up with them, Kash has secrets that could change everything.

Overall, I enjoyed the book, but there were a few things that I thought could be improved and couple things that kind of bothered me.
- First, I felt like the relationship between Bailey and Kash needed to be developed more. They spent more time apart than they did together, so it was a bit weird how quickly things got serious between the two. I also felt like we didn’t really get to know much about Kash. I get that he has this mysterious bad boy vibe about him, but his character could use a little more to it so it isn’t so flat.
- I thought the conflict with Victoria was anticlimactic and could definitely be expanded upon (though maybe she’ll show up more in the next book.)
- Matt’s character was really inconsistent. He would be an a** and do something cruel and then be all brotherly towards Bailey.
- I felt like the middle of the story was a dragged out too much and a few of the things that did happen were a bit lackluster and didn’t add to the story enough.

I don’t think St Martin’s did Tijan any favors by offering a poorly edited, pre-beta version copy of this narrative on NetGalley. The premise of the plot was interesting, however it didn’t once take the reader out of an element of predictability. Readers are offered a vivid cast of characters, that support most of the storyline with intriguing and entertaining qualities. This being a trilogy, some mystery is left to be discovered. The plot moves fast and is heavy in angst and anticipation. However, the writing is muddled and confusing as areas of detail are just skipped over or brought up but never mentioned again.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I didn’t like this. But I will say, I can see a different (perhaps younger?) reader enjoying it.

I struggled to get into the story because the plot just didn’t make any sense to me. Even applying romance logic, I didn’t get why the setup was happening. The book opens with a kidnapping attempt on the heroine, who then gets rescued by someone who works for a famous billionaire tech guy. She finds out that people are trying to kidnap her to hold her for ransom because said billionaire is her father who she never knew about. Her father, therefore, wants to offer her protection while they figure out who is targeting her so that she stays safe. So far, so good (again, applying romance logic here, not real-life logic). Then, the heroine gets told that she needs to leave her mother and hide out on the billionaire’s estate, but she can’t tell anyone who she is and she has to pretend to be an old family friend of the guy who rescued her? This is where it lost me. The story eventually reveals all and explains why this happens, but no one seemed to be really questioning it as it was happening and the explanation given still didn’t make sense to me.

Second, I never connected with the characters. At the start of the book, the heroine instantly both hates and desperately lusts after the hero, but there’s really no interaction that goes with this instant connection, so it doesn’t feel real at all. It’s like insta-love, but worse because it feels shallow. Then, once the relationship starts to develop, it never feels like equals or partners, but like Kash is calling all of the shots and Bailey is just following along (oof, as I was writing this, I completely forgot the heroine’s name and had to look it up, despite finishing this book less than 12 hours ago. Not a good sign.)

Thirdly, in romance, having strong side characters is something that often makes a story a favorite for me. There was potential here because there is so much time spent with the side characters. I didn’t enjoy the time with the side characters though. The characters often felt like caricatures of tropes, with then some random unexplained out-of-character moments to “redeem” them.

OH MY GOODNESS!! HOLD ON LET ME COMPOSE MYSELF!! TIJAN DID IT AGAIN! She wrote an amazing book, a book you get lost in page after page! In one afternoon this book consumed me! I wish there was enough words in the English dictionary to describe how amazing this book was! It was an exceptionally well written, and it keeps you wanting more! Tijan writes about her characters as if she was there along side them, I guess in someway, shape and form she is! Kash and Bailey's chemistry from the beginning was what set the tone for the book, the pull between the two even when both were fighting it, keeps you wanting to turn the pages. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what their future hold. Kash is a mystery and the deeper you dive into the book the more about Kash is exposed to the reason why he is such a mystery! As much as I love how fiercely protective Kash is from the beginning and the way he loves Bailey, I cannot get enough of how fiercely independent, strong and Intelligent Bailey is! The only thing I am sad about is that it ended on a cliffhanger but only because I have to wait to find out what happens next!!
There are so many lines in the book that I fell in love with but I absolutely loved when Kash told Bailey “I fell in love with you before you even knew me." Even when he didn't say those words nicely!
You will not regret reading this book! All I have left to say is Tijan you are an amazing Author! Thank you for writing books we fall in love with over and over again! This book will not disappoint!

This new world is just....gah!!! I love it. I am not surprised at all because Tijan is an aging story teller, but I love how her writing pulls you in and wraps you up and you ARE listening to the characters, you are living it, you can feel every emotion and see every detail from the small to big things. Its a rare talent but one that she brings to the table every single time!!!! I'm really hoping there is more to this story, it was kind of a cliff hanger there.

I absolutely loved Insiders by Tijan. Tijan is not a new author to me. I feel like for the price you pay you always get your money's worth. From my knowledge this will be a trilogy. I am thoroughly looking forward to the other two books. I absolutely loved Bailey and Kash, and cannot wait to see how this story unfolds. Publish everything this author writes because it is pure gold! All of her books are so very rich with details, and it is a true escape from this reality.

I usually love Tijan's books and this one does not disappoint. It is a action filled story of a young woman thrust into a life she should have been born into but is now learning her way. It has love, deception, family dynamics, and a bit of action movie plot to it. It does wrap up the story by the end, but leaves plenty of room for the sequel to begin immediately after. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Tijan's books already and anyone starting out as well. #netgalley

The Insiders is the first of three books which follows a 22 year old girl, Bailey, a genius hacker with photographic memory. She's raised by a single mother and after an attempted kidnapping, she finds out her idol, Peter Francis is actually her father. In her new family, she's an outlier who's left lonely.

The story started out a little bit slow but eventually grew on me as things finally started to happen. I fell in love with Kashton's mysterious vibe and Bailey's sarcastic, intelligent brain. Kash and Bailey's story was steamy as always in Tijan's books, The relationship with her mother was very strong and I loved how well it was written, same with her half siblings. The ending was kind of expected but it left us with a cliffhanger.

Overall, I'd give this book about 3.5/5, I can't wait to see what happens next!

This started out bumpy and unfortunately didn't get any better. We are thrust into the middle of a kidnapping attempt on page one, where one of the kidnappers inexplicably helps Bailey though we never learn why. After that, Bailey learns who her father is and is moved to his family compound. Everything happens quickly but the plot is scarce.

Bailey acts like a high school student instead of someone about to start graduate school. She falls in insta-lust with Kash, her father's advisor and won't stop thinking about him. Their romance felt off and the chemistry was lacking. He constantly leaves her and won't talk to her about what's going on or his past. I wish he had been more developed as a character and Bailey had been more mature.

Bailey's long lost family weren't great characters either. Her father is a poor dad and husband and treats people around him as lesser. Her stepmother is cold and cruel and her brother Matt is a selfish jerk. The little kids were cute but they weren't a big part of the story.

I was interested in the kidnapping plot, but it wasn't discussed much and we never circled back to the guy who attempted to help Bailey at the beginning. I'm not sure if that's just a loose end or if it will be addressed in the next book but I would have liked something more. The climax near the end was over too quickly and had low stakes. I hoped we were building up to something bigger, but I guess that will have to wait until the sequel.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the copy.

I really enjoyed this book. It has the true Tijan intensity that I love.
I felt for every character, well except Quinn.
I look forward to the continuation of this book.

5 Stars!!

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. There were family secrets and corporate intrigue throughout the book as well. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you.I will caution that it’s not a cliffhanger per se but after reading the end of the book I’m so anxious to read the next in this series..

I enjoyed this book. It was a good, easy read that moved quickly and didn't meander. I thought the plot was a little less focused than I would prefer, and I wasn't as compelled by the love story as I typically would be. I just don't find the "love at first sight" idea as compelling as maybe a little bit of friction. I enjoy a slow burn when it comes to love plots. That being said, it was one of those books that kept me coming back for more. I was never bored or forcing myself to get to the end to find the payoff.

This book has a good premise it is fast-paced. There is a romance, but I struggled to feel the chemistry. Part of the issue is that it was instantaneous attraction without much explanation. The other issue, which affected my experience of the the romance and of the book as a whole, is that is full of short choppy sentences. It affects the flow of the text makes it hard to get immersed in the story. In spite of this, the premise is interesting enough to want to know what happens next.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

THE INSIDERS by Tijan
This is one addicting story! After I read the first paragraph, I couldn’t put this down until I finished it. Bailey who was raised by a single mother, has a genius IQ with a photographic memory, she is a young computer hacker. She has inherited her skills from the computer genius billionaire father that she didn’t know was related to her. When a kidnapping attempt goes awry when Kash rescues her, Bailey is moved to her father’s mansion which brings her to her three siblings. Kash is guarding her and she is very drawn to him. This is a 5 star read.

I loved this book, it had drama, suspense, and some sizzling romance. There were so many twist and turns in this plot. The chemistry between Kash and Bailey was smoking, I actually enjoyed that the sex scenes were not too explicit but that didn’t stop Tijan from including some sexual situations that were more bold when it came to Matt and his friends. The connection between Kash and Bailey kept growing and growing and at times I waited for things to fall apart but Bailey is feisty and loyal and would not let him back away from her. Some characters I did not like right away but got better, others were awful, and some were great. Towards the end there were some shockers I did not see coming and now I’m gearing up for the next book wondering what is going to happen now that their next enemy has come calling. The start of another great series by Tijan. I was given an ARC by the author and publishing via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Tijan takes us into a whole new world unlike any she has ever written with The Insiders. This book is captivating from the very first paragraph, where we are thrown into a world of intrigue. The pace is set fast, which held me, hostage until the last page, where I kept clicking in hopes more would appear.

This story takes me back to the original Tijan, who writes quirky characters who come into their own with an Alpha male character steeped in mystery. This book takes the time to introduce us to the myriad of characters the heroine interacts with and setting up what I envision to be an epic storyline that will continue through the rest of the series.

Bailey has some quirks that make her wonderfully unique but still slightly immature in social settings. Kash is rough around the edges and keeps EVERYTHING about his life close to the vest, while Bailey is an open book. Bailey brings out a softer, more caring side in Kash while he is helping her learn how to handle more serious situations.

The characters are a little older than what we have come to expect from Tijan, along with a whole new story arc, unlike anything we have seen yet. This is a slightly more mature voice we haven't really seen from Tijan as this world needs to be navigated from a more adult place. This may throw off some readers. I love that Tijan is stretching her boundaries and enjoy this new, more mature voice. I will be anxiously awaiting book two even though book one doesn't come out until May.

I have been on a huge Tijan kick lately. All I have left is her paranormal books then I have read everything that is Tijan. So, when I saw this opportunity to read and review this book I jumped at the chance.

This is a new series and its great! Though you are left with a cliffhanger. Bailey is a certifiable genius when it comes to the computer world. So when she almost gets kidnapped she's brought into a world she didn't know existed. She gets thrown into a family she didn't know about and is being guarded by a mysterious gorgeous man named Kash.

She's instantly drawn to Kash and vice versa. I loved the chemistry between these two and I loved the banter and relationship between all the siblings. There were so many layers to this story that it keeps you on your toes from beginning to the end. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down and then I was left with anxiety because we have to wait to find out what happens with Bailey and Kash and all the elements that come with them.

At the end we also get bonus with what is written on a sign that Bailey writes but I have to admit the sign is long. So, either Kash is a speed reader or the sign was the length of her body. Even though the sign was long the words were sweet. I can't wait for more from this author and this series.

I kinda just want to start off with one of those slow claps. I think this book deserves that along with a standing ovation. I’ve been a fan of Tijan for a long time. Lately I just haven’t gotten that feeling of excitement with the last few books I’ve read. It was like something was missing and so going into this book I was a bit nervous and the blurb kinda gave me a fallen crest vibe. And while I can see a few similarities it was not the case. I read this book from beginning to end in a few hours. It kept you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out how it was going to play out.
This book had everything I loved about Tijan books and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Disliking an ARC and having to write a review about it is always awkward. But unfortunately, this is one of those books. When I saw there was an ARC by a popular romance author on Netgalley, I immediately requested it. However, if you ask me if it's worth to take the time to read it, I would sadly tell you no. There are a lot of romances out there better than this one. The romance is what disappointed me most of all, to be honest. Even if I wasn't a fan of the plot and the characters, if it had a great romance where I rooted for them and could feel their connection & chemistry, then yes I would have devoured this book and probably recommended it to others. Here, the romance was the insta-love/lust type where they went from nothing to everything just because they're the love interests and that they should. I wasn't interested enough in the plot to want to read the sequel.

(Thank you for letting me read and review an ARC via Netgalley)
