Author is a ninth grader with some issues with her health, mainly weight and family health conditions that may be her future. Instead she takes a passionate mindset towards helping others with a cute smoothie and wellness book. When life hands you lemons.....well you get the gist.

What did I like? Now keep in mind that this is an adolescent who wants to help others, and I’m sure she has found her way. Easy to make smoothies with very few ingredients but look tasty. Add in some healthy talk about certain fruits, vegetables, nuts, and spices and you have some smoothies to make.

Would I buy or recommend? I think this would make a great gift for someone in the authors age group that may need to identify with someone going through a like minded situation. Or if you are just looking for some healthy smoothie information and some easy versatile recipes. I’d substitute milk for almond milk in the recipes I’ve bookmarked to try for lactose intolerance reasons. Still a cute book. Kudos to the author.

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review.

Bravo, to Diya Nath for advocating for healthier eating at the age of 14 and giving a voice to our youth!! It's easy to see her passion for healthy eating and being a health advocate for the younger generation.

Healthy Habits for a Healthier You is a short cookbook with 21 smoothie recipes, but it's packed with not only delicious smoothie recipes. It is also filled with science-based information on the ingredients and benefits of healthy eating.

The book is organized well with information on making smoothies, the facts and research on the ingredients and their benefits. The recipes are easy to read with only what you need to know to make them. It is easy to flip through them to find the one you would like to make. Each recipe has a simple photo, and while they are appealing, it's not a strong part of the cookbook.

The smoothie recipes focus on ingredients for healthy eating for easy digestion and giving you energy. This is something I see my son having issues with. Recently he has become more aware of what he is eating and trying to eat the foods that are easy to digest and give him energy. He has a nightly smoothie, and it's nice to see recipes that focus on his concerns. With all the stress and anxiety our youth are under, it's refreshing to see a younger voice addressing them.

The smoothies are unquie in variety, using some different ingredients with each one. The recipes use different fruits, some greens like spinach and Kale, peanut butter, cream cheese, coconut milk, flax or chia seeds and other healthy ingredients.

The recipes include

Blueberry Cheesecake
Strwmange Lemonade
Chocolate Energy
Water Mango
Citrus Green Refresher
Pina Colada
Blueberry Protein Shake
and many more

Healthy Habits for a Healthier You by Diya Nath was packed full of information.

The book was well organized in various sections. I liked that the book started off with her personal story. It helped me feel a connection. I liked that super important information was bolded so you could easily skim back and see big points. I appreciated all the detailed information in each section. There was a lot of thought and love put into this book. I love Nath’s passion for this subject. I think she has such an amazing opportunity to influence and change so many lives for the better.

I received an eARC from Serapis Bey Publishing through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.

Such an amazing book from an awesome teenager! We need more people like this! 14-year-old Diya was obese, and there are several nasty diseases running in the family. She decided to start a journey of finding the right things to eat to live a healthier life. She did lots of research regarding what nutrients we need to stay healthy.

She explains all this in this short book in a clear and easy to understand way, which makes this a good read for anyone interested in the subject, but feels overwhelmed by all the scientific findings and constantly changing new hype diets. The core to a healthy living is in this book, and I hope many teenagers and others will find help from this book.

I already knew these facts from before, and was mostly interested in the recipes. However, I got interested in Diya’s story, so I read the book. The recipes look very healthy, balanced, and tasty. I will most definitely try them, because who doesn’t love a good nutritious smoothie.

A lovely book with excellent information on health, nutrition, and gut health. I have been making smoothies and staying up to date with nutrition for years, so while the information is not new to me, I would have loved to have this information 34 years ago when I was first diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. I love how the author is a young teen and can hopefully reach others with this information. Many great recipes, with enticing photos, and all the recipes were new to me. Highly recommended and a definite book for my ever-growing list of my favorite smoothies.
