This book, "From Hope to Joy" details one mother's journey with the birth of her premature daughter and the resulting complications and hospitalization. It is an honest recounting of a mother's experience with her premature daughter. This book was a quick read with relevant, inspiring information. It will be helpful for other families also living through this experience. It was an enlightening, easy to read book which provoked feelings of sadness and ultimately joy by the end of the story.

While this book touches on many emotional issues it wasn't that much of an emotional read. It was very informative regarding preemie pregnancies and babies. At times it seemed like a soapbox for the author to tout certain medical care. Overall, it was a very good book about a very difficult time in the author's life. Not overly sentimental or maudlin. Leaves you feeling grateful for "normal" pregnancies and deliveries and thankful that medicine has improved to help save the preemies.
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher and voluntarily chose to review it.

The author's raw and honest account of her difficult pregnancy and the premature birth of her baby was heartbreaking to read. I felt her pain as I read and teared up more than once. I am so glad that things got better for her.

This true story about Jennifer Degl's difficult journey during her last pregnancy. Her previous pregnancies were a happy time with no issues. However, her pregnancy with Joy was very eventful and almost cost both of their lives. Jennifer shared her raw emotions in her writing and expressed how she set goals for herself to get Joy to a good place health wise. Even through the traumatic experiences, she held out hope.

This is a true story about Jennifer Degl's problem filled pregnancy and the birth of her daughter at 23 weeks. You get a look inside a NICU and the struggles of a micro preemie baby. At times this read a little bit like a medical book but otherwise this is an uplifting story about what these tiny babies endure in their first few months of life.
