Not the cute rom-com I was expecting based on the blurb and especially the cover. The hardness of Julian's life (and his sister!) felt like too much in this tale, which killed the enjoyment for me

When Beatrice and Julian meet he's in a dangerous situation and she steps up, They strike up a friendship, sharing a commute in a train. He's got painful secrets in his past and feels guilty about things. She's molded herself into a bit of a pushover, trying to keep the peace and avoid upsetting the people in her life, including her boyfriend Greyson. I liked the characters and there is some humor here that hits me right. When I first started this book I put it away when it turned out that Beatrice's boyfriend just happens to be Julian's stepbrother, and they do not get along at all. To put it mildly. I was a little annoyed that the plot depended on such a huge coincidence but when I picked it back up, I liked the way things unfolded and how both Julian and Beatrice could work some things out to feel better about themselves.

Contents: Several violent or threatening scenes, no graphic sex.

I received a netgalley copy and this is a voluntary review.

This has been on my TBR for several years now, and I can’t seem to make myself finish it. I’m sorry! I’m sure someone will love it, but it just isn’t for me.

On paper this seems like a perfect read for me. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into it. I'm sure it's a great read for others.

This book isn't my usual cup of tea read and unfortunately it didn't quite work for me. Interesting premise.

A very sweet romance read, based in New York, my favourite city so brownie points already there! This book was a really light-hearted escape from the real world and the characters were very loveable.

Romcoms give me life. I'm especially a sucker for one set in NYC. This one was great for satisfying my craving for that. The characters aren't too deep, and the book is a quick read that provided a much needed escape for me during the height of the pandemic. The cover is also absolutely adorable!

I expected this to be a light rom-com but it dealt with much heavier topics than expected. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I went in with other expectations so I think it's just a me problem.

The story of Julian and Beatrice. They meet by chance, but then keep seeing each other. They are more connected than they realise, but will they have a future together when Julian's past comes back to haunt him?

Contemporary romances are my favourite type of book. I could read them all day everyday. They always have really likeable characters (with whom I usually end up falling in love with myself) and Julian was no exception!!! What a babe.

This was a fun, cute, and relatable read. It flowed easily and you could definitely feel the romance between Beatrice and Julian blossoming page after page. I loved the switching POVs as I feel as though it portrayed a clearer picture on how the characters feelings were developing.

However, I do feel as though this was an average read, which is totally okay! I am not saying I didn't enjoy the story at all, I did. I just feel as though there was just that little something missing to give it the 'wow factor'. Putting that aside, I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a light, fluffy, fun, romance read to give you that escape from everyday life!

If you’re looking for a cute young adult contemporary romance, this is it! Such a cute and fun story.

Started this book expecting a light read and cute romance.
There were definitely some cute romance parts for Bea and Julian.
To me it felt like some parts were a bit rushed in the novel. For instance the abusive relationship theme.
There was much more drama in it than I initially expected.

Beatrice and Julian were everything I wanted when I started this, and the two of them and the NYC subway kept me turning the pages. This was sweet and simple, but not simplistic, and I loved getting to know them and their lives.

Recommended if you're looking for a casual, quirky light read! The story is very easy to follow and is enjoyable even though it is fairly predictable. It's a very cute story and the characters are all loveable!

I requested this book based on the cover and description of the book. To be honest I couldn't relate to the story at firt, but towards the end I still kept reading and enjoyed it. This book is like the quote "there is more to something than meets the eye".

Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC of this title!

3.5/5

There's almost nothing I love more than a romantic comedy. Next Stop Love had a lot of the elements I crave, like NYC, artsy main couple, and family drama. I thought the pacing was a little off in some places, but overall, I found this story enjoyable. Julian was such a caring lead, who really connects with Beatrice and they have some very sweet moments together. As a whole, I think this was missing some tension, but I don't regret having the opportunity to read it. Next Stop Love is a sweet debut, and I'm excited to see what Rachel Stockbridge writes next.

Adorable, witty and cute. A perfect ya love story for teens! But deep enough for an adult to read as well! I really liked this one

Trigger Warning: domestic abuse, drug mentioned, drug ring mentioned, attempted murder, violence, guilt, family pressure, academic pressure & financial stress.

Set in New York City, both of our leads are warning themselves thin. Beatrice is juggling a job, multiple classes, being the mediator in her family & trying to decide if she actually likes her controlling boyfriend. Julian is trying to get back on his feet; he wants to get a job, but when his past wants to kill him, his sister needs to crash with him, and his doubts are keeping his dreams out of reach, it is hard to feel like you aren't drowning. Both of them need a little boost, and that comes in the shape of each other.
Their worlds collide, and as they start to help one another breathe and feel better about the stresses they face on their train rides together, they realize they might be falling for each other and that it might get them hurt.
Either way, the next stop on their train ride is love... no matter the fallout.

This story was absolutely sweet and heartfelt! It got a little predictable at times, and the last half was a tiny, tiny bit rushed (I would have been fine with it being longer to keep the pacing), but I genuinely enjoyed it! Both characters are sweet, relatable, honest and their mistake are both annoying but also understandable. I saw a lot of my burnout energy in Beatrice (A slight callout for me, haha), and I enjoyed how Julian's struggle with having money, doing the right things and fearing failure is easy to relate to. Excellent character building!
