We all hear some tips about our physical well being from different sources (family, friends, social media, TV, magazines...) and it is also often the case that we forgot them ! I felt good to find these tips and even more in this book. It enumerates almost 200 hacks to keep our immune system on the right track. Of course, you don't have to follow all of them but pick the ones that you feel comfortable with. Furthermore, I felt quite easy to read and I didn't feel overwhelmed with some too technical words or long list of items to eat. If you want to fill in your bucket list of 2021 just buy this book and try to follow some hacks.
The only improvement that would ask is to have sometimes the references of some study or survey which were mentioned in the book. Otherwise, I would recommend to read it!

Great collection of immune system hacks and health tips. There are plenty to choose from to work with and after completing the book, I’ll be going back and picking out ones to develop and build on.

Each hack is handled concisely in a page or so with enough detail to demonstrate the author’s knowledge of the topics and show how they can be implemented. It will take a bit of work and planning but implementing these changes will have a personal beneficial impact.

Immune system hacks is over a hundred pages of tips to help and support immune health. People who are autoimmune compromised or overly sick may want to try these items slowly and not overwhelm themselves. I found a lot of these hacks to be a regular habit for myself and I agree with most of them.

What did I like? Ideally for people who would like to boost immune system and health. Easy to do and most of them require knowledge and not money which is really great. A great gift for a healthy conscious person, and you can flip through to find something you may just want to try. A unique book with over a hundred ideas. I would recommend and would buy a copy. Self help is important. Kudos to the author for supporting others wellness.

I received an ARC to read and voluntarily left a review.

The book has a wife range of entries. It's topics include listening to music, boost your Glutathione levels, Uncover Genetic mutations. It gives you topics to see if you would like to research them further and build on them. I was looking for a little more science based but in the alternative health category this is a good find.

This book is a great quick read for anyone trying to optimize their wellness through simple changes. Many similarly options focus on a few methods, book this book complies 175 methods for increasing our wellness through holistic preventative means. In our increasing globals lives, keeping a copy of this handy and focusing on preventative measures is our best defense. My only criticism of the book is that I would have liked to see references tied to the research and recommends.

With 187 Immune System Hacks, it is like reading brief summaries of more than a season of the Dr. Oz show!

While some of the hacks are well known, many were new to me. Mushrooms have vitamin D? Who knew? I’ve also never heard of Ashwagandha or Propolis before. I’m sure everyone will find at least a few new ideas within Immune System Hacks. I would have liked a better organization system. Perhaps ordering the hacks by how they are delivered (as food, supplements, or user action). Overall, a good first look at many options to improve your immune system. 3 stars.

Thanks to Adams Media and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

I struggle with 5 chronic conditions. Immune System Hacks is critical to anyone who suffers from immunity problems and to those who want a better understanding on how to impact one's body for better health. It is the Swiss Army Knife of ways to improve your health. You can pick and choose the hacks, or tools, that will make the greatest impact for you. After reading this book, I feel empowered in making changes in my life that will strengthen my immunity and improve my quality of life.

I noticed the hacks could be grouped into themes or sections. A nice to have would be to have the hack numbers colourized and associated to certain themes (mental health, herbs, vitamins, etc.). I like how all the hacks are mixed up, don't change that. Organizing them all into different sections might be too structured. However, if you're have a guide in the index and/or at the beginning of the book explaining the theme colours, it might help in navigating to the hack you are interested in. So if you're interested in a particular subject like 'herbs', you'd look in the index for the colour to see what section that falls under. If you have the hack numbers colourized, you could also quickly flip through the book for the colour.

Immune System Hacks is an easy read and super informative. There were tips and tricks that I was unaware of prior to reading Matt Farr's book. Great book and i highly recommend it!

From the simple, to the amazing to the incredible. I discovered things that I had no idea had a positive imact on immunity and so many simple ones to integrate in my daily life. Made me rething my daily habits, especially during the cold months, to include beneficial practices that I previously thought would be irrelevant. The book offered some great scientific explanations for activities that I intuitively felt were good but know gives me that extra sense of confidence and ability to articulate it for others too. Hugging is my favourite one by far. :D
There are so many hacks on so many levels from the social, to diatary, to psychological, to supplementation and down to the cellular level, i.e. how to support the function of your mitochondria. Highly recommend.

A good book to read to be reminded and/or learn about hacks to improve your immune system. It is extensive and takes a holistic approach by providing hacks for the body, the mind as well as the spirit. There are multiple hacks for everyone regardless of personality, gender, age or anything else. It is easy to read and concise, a good source if you want to look up a hack or two.

There are repetitions throughout the book which makes the book longer than necessary. For most of the hacks, you need to do additional reading and research to learn how to benefit from the hacks. But it’s still a book worth reading cover to cover at least once.

I’m taking a keen interest in my health this year particularly around weight loss which is connected to general health.

My health is underpinned by my immune system so I wanted to find out how to get it to and maintain it at optimum effectiveness.

Matts 175+ hacks show just how you can make changes to your life to give your body a fighting chance at combating disease on a daily basis.

Having an awareness of what degrades your defences is the start to rebuilding them.

This is a comprehensive attempt to tackle a complex system. You can dip into and read specific hacks or read it from cover to cover.

The online resources will help you navigate which hacks will help with specific conditions.

But really. Everyone should read a book like this to start the journey towards personal responsibility for their own health.

The first line of defence in a viral pandemic is your immune system. Don’t you think you should be doing all you can to prepare it for war against disease?

I really enjoyed Immune System Hacks: 175+ Ways to Boost Your Immunity, Protect Against Viruses and Disease, and Feel Your Very Best by Matt Farr. It's a quick reference guide to help improve your health and each hack gives a brief and interesting summary to help you better understand and implement it. It ranges from exercise daily, to smile more, to things I hadn't hear of like sound healing!

Matt Farr does a wonderful way explaining these hacks and making them accessible to understand. I would recommend this book and will definitely refer back to it often for immune system hacks and health!

Really basic random tips, some are repeated several times just worded in a slightly different way.
I have Crohn’s Disease which is an autoimmune disorder, so I’ve spent a lot of time reading up on balancing my immune system. This book just wasn’t for me, too basic. Many of the tips are very brief and don’t go into a lot of detail. For example: Avoid light at night. Explained by stating light from devices and television negatively effects your sleep pattern. You need sleep. Ok next tip.
Eat berries. Berries have nutrients for your immune system. Next.
Just not a very compelling writing style. But I’m giving it stars for having mostly accurate information from what I can tell.

While folks who don't have compromised immune systems or haven't thought about boosting your immune system, these hacks might be of use. If you do know something about the immune system, you won't find anything startling here.

Much of this book will be common knowledge to most folks who are up to date with modern health advice, but I still really enjoyed the book. Each "hack" takes about a page and is a simple way to improve your immune system, generally with good science to back it. Some of them will be new to folks and a few of them may seem more "out there" but it's generally a great roundup. Some of the hacks are repeated in different ways. For instance, one hack is to stop breathing through your mouth and another is to breathe through your nose. While each had a page of info explaining the reasoning, those really should have been one hack IMO. I also would have liked references at the end, since the author frequently cites "studies that have shown...." but doesn't give any more information to back it up.

There were also quite a few hacks that I would have included that were not included. For instance, a ton of recent research has shown the importance of eating a wide variety of types of plants (herbs, fruits, veggies, etc.) each week (30 minimum, 50 for optimal benefits) for a huge range of benefits like supporting your gut microbiome, getting all of the trace nutrients you need, etc. I've seen that one mentioned in at least 5 health related books I've read this year but it wasn't mentioned here.

Even though I knew most of these, it was still a great reminder and it's written in such a concise, easy format that it really lends itself to adopting a few small, great changes at a time.

I read a digital ARC of this book for review.
