I read this with astonishment that the author knew so much about the immune system, and it is timely, in the pandemic, and in general. Who would have known that the best time to go out in the sun was noon, for UVB rays to work best on your immune system? I certainly would not have known, and that is just an example. The book is crammed with information, and I doubt I will be able to take it all in, on a first reading, so I will probably come back to it as a referencr book. |

Immune System hacks by Matt Farr is a nice book if you have no idea how to boost and maintain your immune system. For those of us that already have some knowledge of this, most of the ”hacks “ are things you probably already know. I can’t say there was anything that I hadn’t really heard of before, but it’s also nice to have all the ideas in one book. I liked that he had suggestions of ways to get vitamins through diet and appreciated that he gave the suggested dosing for these as well. I’m not sure how accurate they are, but I’m sure it was researched. I think this is a good book if you are looking to learn how to increase your immune function and have no clue where to begin. Thank you to NetGalley and Adams media for the opportunity to read this book. |

This book is fantastic! I really enjoyed reading it! It has different "hacks" listed 1-175 in an easy to read format. It covers each concept pretty concisely, but also with enough information to utilize them. He recommends looking up extra information on certain hacks online and that could be done for any of them, but I think he did a great job of culling through and including the most important information. I have researched a lot in health and biology so most of this book was review for me, however, I think that many people would find most of the information to be new. Despite already knowing most of it, I still really enjoyed the refresher and I loved the format and simplicity of it. It could be read quickly or you could choose to read a few different hacks at a time and try to utilize those or savor the knowledge learned. Since the hacks are only a page or two, the reader has a lot of flexibility in how they read it. Everything is written in a very simplistic and easy to read manner, so the reader need not worry if they don't understand or enjoy science/medical- talk as it is not in this book. Instead, it is written very conversationally and should appeal to a wide audience. This book is a wonderful reminder of how to keep the immune system strong as winter quickly approaches and I definitely recommend it! |

Immune system hacks is an excellent book on the immune system. There are more than 175 hacks or tips you can follow to strengthen your immune system. Lately, we are more and more aware that a strong immune system is very important. Easy to read and follow as these hacks are numbered and titled, so you can read in-depth just those that are interesting and you don't know. There are some tips included that I knew, but there are a lot of them I didn't hear of before or didn't know the details. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this! Much of this book will be common knowledge to most folks who are up to date with modern health advice, but I still really enjoyed the book. Each "hack" takes about a page and is a simple way to improve your immune system, generally with good science to back it. Some of them will be new to folks and a few of them may seem more "out there" but it's generally a great roundup. Some of the hacks are repeated in different ways. For instance, one hack is to stop breathing through your mouth and another is to breathe through your nose. While each had a page of info explaining the reasoning, those really should have been one hack IMO. I also would have liked references at the end, since the author frequently cites "studies that have shown...." but doesn't give any more information to back it up. There were also quite a few hacks that I would have included that were not included. For instance, a ton of recent research has shown the importance of eating a wide variety of types of plants (herbs, fruits, veggies, etc.) each week (30 minimum, 50 for optimal benefits) for a huge range of benefits like supporting your gut microbiome, getting all of the trace nutrients you need, etc. I've seen that one mentioned in at least 5 health related books I've read this year but it wasn't mentioned here. Even though I knew most of these, it was still a great reminder and it's written in such a concise, easy format that it really lends itself to adopting a few small, great changes at a time. I read a digital ARC of this book for review. |

I’m taking a keen interest in my health this year particularly around weight loss which is connected to general health. My health is underpinned by my immune system so I wanted to find out how to get it to and maintain it at optimum effectiveness. Matts 175+ hacks show just how you can make changes to your life to give your body a fighting chance at combating disease on a daily basis. Having an awareness of what degrades your defences is the start to rebuilding them. This is a comprehensive attempt to tackle a complex system. You can dip into and read specific hacks or read it from cover to cover. The online resources will help you navigate which hacks will help with specific conditions. But really. Everyone should read a book like this to start the journey towards personal responsibility for their own health. The first line of defence in a viral pandemic is your immune system. Don’t you think you should be doing all you can to prepare it for war against disease? |

From the simple, to the amazing to the incredible. I discovered things that I had no idea had a positive imact on immunity and so many simple ones to integrate in my daily life. Made me rething my daily habits, especially during the cold months, to include beneficial practices that I previously thought would be irrelevant. The book offered some great scientific explanations for activities that I intuitively felt were good but know gives me that extra sense of confidence and ability to articulate it for others too. Hugging is my favourite one by far. :D There are so many hacks on so many levels from the social, to diatary, to psychological, to supplementation and down to the cellular level, i.e. how to support the function of your mitochondria. Highly recommend. |

A good book to read to be reminded and/or learn about hacks to improve your immune system. It is extensive and takes a holistic approach by providing hacks for the body, the mind as well as the spirit. There are multiple hacks for everyone regardless of personality, gender, age or anything else. It is easy to read and concise, a good source if you want to look up a hack or two. There are repetitions throughout the book which makes the book longer than necessary. For most of the hacks, you need to do additional reading and research to learn how to benefit from the hacks. But it’s still a book worth reading cover to cover at least once. |

I struggle with 5 chronic conditions. Immune System Hacks is critical to anyone who suffers from immunity problems and to those who want a better understanding on how to impact one's body for better health. It is the Swiss Army Knife of ways to improve your health. You can pick and choose the hacks, or tools, that will make the greatest impact for you. After reading this book, I feel empowered in making changes in my life that will strengthen my immunity and improve my quality of life. I noticed the hacks could be grouped into themes or sections. A nice to have would be to have the hack numbers colourized and associated to certain themes (mental health, herbs, vitamins, etc.). I like how all the hacks are mixed up, don't change that. Organizing them all into different sections might be too structured. However, if you're have a guide in the index and/or at the beginning of the book explaining the theme colours, it might help in navigating to the hack you are interested in. So if you're interested in a particular subject like 'herbs', you'd look in the index for the colour to see what section that falls under. If you have the hack numbers colourized, you could also quickly flip through the book for the colour. |

Great collection of immune system hacks and health tips. There are plenty to choose from to work with and after completing the book, I’ll be going back and picking out ones to develop and build on. Each hack is handled concisely in a page or so with enough detail to demonstrate the author’s knowledge of the topics and show how they can be implemented. It will take a bit of work and planning but implementing these changes will have a personal beneficial impact. |

Immune system hacks is over a hundred pages of tips to help and support immune health. People who are autoimmune compromised or overly sick may want to try these items slowly and not overwhelm themselves. I found a lot of these hacks to be a regular habit for myself and I agree with most of them. What did I like? Ideally for people who would like to boost immune system and health. Easy to do and most of them require knowledge and not money which is really great. A great gift for a healthy conscious person, and you can flip through to find something you may just want to try. A unique book with over a hundred ideas. I would recommend and would buy a copy. Self help is important. Kudos to the author for supporting others wellness. I received an ARC to read and voluntarily left a review. |

This book is a great quick read for anyone trying to optimize their wellness through simple changes. Many similarly options focus on a few methods, book this book complies 175 methods for increasing our wellness through holistic preventative means. In our increasing globals lives, keeping a copy of this handy and focusing on preventative measures is our best defense. My only criticism of the book is that I would have liked to see references tied to the research and recommends. |

We all hear some tips about our physical well being from different sources (family, friends, social media, TV, magazines...) and it is also often the case that we forgot them ! I felt good to find these tips and even more in this book. It enumerates almost 200 hacks to keep our immune system on the right track. Of course, you don't have to follow all of them but pick the ones that you feel comfortable with. Furthermore, I felt quite easy to read and I didn't feel overwhelmed with some too technical words or long list of items to eat. If you want to fill in your bucket list of 2021 just buy this book and try to follow some hacks. The only improvement that would ask is to have sometimes the references of some study or survey which were mentioned in the book. Otherwise, I would recommend to read it! |

Having read over 175 different hacks for the immune system, the book is packed with useful, informative advice in an engaging reading style that makes you want to research further and fosters curiosity. As someone who experiences depression and PTSD from trauma it was particularly interesting how I can start with simple things like practicing self care, getting out in nature and suggestions for meditation and calming the nervous system down. I like the way the book is layed out into different sections so you can easily pick and choose different sections to read and focus on instead of reading all the book from cover to cover. I would definitely recommend this book and style for a start to improve health and wellbeing in a holistic way especially in with such a difficult year that 2020 has been. |

The format of the book, with each individual hack numbered, makes it easy to read, either in whole or one at a time. There is some cross-over of the hacks, and that allows for each one to be read separate without the need to read another hack. There is a vast amount of information in here and reading it front to back did seem overwhelming at times. I would personally recommend to read front to back first to get the overall context and then re-read the hacks that most resonate with you and start with them; make them part of your daily life, and then move on to the next, and so on. The science is there to back up the hacks, although you are left wanting to research more on how to implement them fully. As someone that has been diagnosed in the past with auto-immune conditions, there were also some hacks that were recommended not to try, so read carefully each hack in detail. There are certainly enough options for someone looking to improve their immune health, even if they don’t agree with them all. Each hack is only a couple of pages, so taking them one at a time is manageable. In a year when a lot more people are considering their overall health, this is a timely contribution and for those less conscious of new health research, this is an easy tool to navigate and start to make incremental change. |

I am a wife, mother of three, and have a very demanding full time job. So like many who play those roles, I often find myself stressed out and suffer insomnia. When Matt reached out to ask if I was interested in reading this book, I immediately took him up on it! It was a very easy read, and more importantly he gave me so many ideas to add to my overall life objective! A few years ago I worked with a mentor to develop a personal objective and I used four different quadrants of social, spiritual, intellectual, and physical goals. So many of these 175+ ideas I will be adding into my personal development plan! And I’m anxiously hoping my sleep pattern will turn into something more restful! |

Matt Farr's Immune System Hacks is a great read for anyone looking to buff their immune system from a holistic approach. Farr offers obvious tips such as increasing exercise, eating high fiber foods, and curbing smoking and drinking habits. However, it never occurred to me that simple changes such as smiling more, hugging loved ones, and even embracing a purpose-driven life can all contribute to improving your overall health and immune system. If you are looking for ways to improve your overall well being from unique perspectives you may not have previously considered, I would recommend this book and apply its tips to your life. |

As a Nutritionist, reading this book was just a pleasure because it gives me very condensate knowledge, the simple tips which I could forget along my learning process, and different views on some of 'the things' we all know :) But don't think it is not up to date with recent science! It is indeed. The most important fact is that the book is easy to read for everyone. Because we all want the best for people around us Its not always that simple to recommend a book that can give someone practical insights, tips that can be implemented straight away, not diving deep into the subject if you don't have to, and here we have 'Immune System Hacks' which I can pass along to everyone. |

I have personally implemented some of the hacks and have seen improvements in my immune system. I will be purchasing copies of this book to give as gifts. |

Hi Mat, I have just finished reading your book. I like the way it is written, it is easy to read and the format means that you can easily pick it up and read a small amount at a time. There are plenty of good tips, which can easily be incorporated into your life to improve your immune health. It is a very timely and informative book. I will recommend it to my friends. |

Concise, very easy to read and understand. I have a considerable insight about the topic, however still I found some very useful information that were new to me. There are some repetition in the hacks but it does not affect the flow of reading it. Very enjoyable and a good go-to when looking to have a holistic approach boosting/maintaining our immune. Thanks for the ooportunity to read it and give you my honest review. Well done! |

A very informative book giving some fabulous hacks to building an amazing immune system. I was very pleased to know I was doing many of them and learned the reasons as to why I was, other than it being something I had grown up knowing worked. I enjoyed the more spiritual immune hacks as these sit well within my lifestyle and it was great to see them written in Matt's book. Very well written and an easy read that could also be used as a reference to different health issues. |

Overall a brilliant book which I found extremely interesting and insightful. The book covers a wide range of topics and ideas which all pay a part on maintaining a healthy immune system, some I was aware of but enjoyed learning more detail, others I had not even thought about. The timing of this booking is perfect given the current climate where heath is top of the agenda. It arms the reader with information to take it into your own hands to take action. I look forward to trying more of these hacks out and more publications from Matt Farr. |

Immune System Hacks is a very informative and accurate book. I've been on a healing journey for a couple years and in my research I have come across many suggestions for improving your immune system. Many of these plus way more were covered in the book. I love how it warns which hacks to be careful of if you have autoimmune disorders. I have personally implemented some of the hacks and have seen improvements in my immune system. I will be purchasing copies of this book to give as gifts. These hacks are not just good for your immune system. They will improve your overall health and wellness, including your mental health!!! |
