Sorry, but a diet book telling me to swap regular cola for diet cola and this is all great because it's less calories and it will thus make me lose weight? No. Can't do that - what about health, now and later? Calories are not the be-all and end-all of weight loss, which this book seems to peddle. Unfortunately, imo, not good diet advice

This book uses the NHS BMI chart as a starting point for knowing if you need to lose weight. In the last few days the BMI measurements have been on the news as being unreliable, but it is in my opinion still a good place to start.

It then explains the basic of how you need to know what your calorie intake should be and then what you are actually consuming - this is the deficit and what helps you lose weight. There are no fancy diets within this book, it is as simple as reducing what you consume and exercising more, though you do need to be in the right frame of mind to do it otherwise you can't or either it doesn't stay off once you have lost it.

There are a few recipes contained within the book. It suggests apps to keep a log of all your measurements and food consumption to keep you on track.

It's an interesting enough book, and reminds you that you need to create the deficit to succeed.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.

What I liked about the book were the author’s relatable suggestions for making thi diet work in spite of obstacles and everyday limitations. Her tone was supportive and encouraging. However, much of the book contained general information that might not help one who picks up this title. That is, in my opinion the book does not deliver the helpful information claimed in the description.

I found The Weight Loss Code by Yemi Fadipe a very interesting read. Hmmmmm But, I wonder if it works, as there's so many books, Tips, how to lose weight out there to read and purchase etc. People have made so much money writing books on this subject. Yes, I have purchased in the past Books, Slimming foods, Low fat foods, tablets, wasted lots of money on joining groups.
The only way I learn to lose weight was not to eat processed food etc, crisps, sugar foods, or whilst watching Netflix to open a bar of chocolate and sit there and eat the whole lot!!!! lol Yes we have all done it!!!
But, to cook from fresh an other words .- cook from Scratch! I know some people do not have the time to do this. But frozen veg etc, a chicken breast or lean meat how hard can that be? to cook and prepare with a sauce etc. Exercise is a good as well. I couldn't exercise much as I am poorly but I did it........Plus, I still had a glass of wine with my weekend meals as a treat.

Thank you to Netgalley and Yemi Fadipe the author for my digital copy for an honest review. Best wishes for this book however, I just feel I have read it all before.

Right book at the right time. Yemi Fadipe walked me through what to do, I did and it's working.

Refreshingly simple amongst all the diet confusion that abounds. She sets out a plan, explains why, and tells you about the tools available and how to find more whilst motivating you at the same time. What I appreciated most is that this is just a tool, not a dictator of what I should eat and at which time, that is for me to decide as long as I keep within the numbers. So if you're like me and want to make your own food choices and not follow fixed diets than this is a good path.

I read the e-book, but I would recommend the paper version as charts and list did not translate well to the ebook version.

An ARC gently given by author/publisher through Netgalley

This is a person’s experience and it is what it is, but it was the same boring calories in/calories out. It was presented as the only way to deal with losing weight. It’s not, but even on its own and independent of that, it’s pretty dry.

What a great no-nonsense weight loss book. So simple and some really good recipes and tips. Sometimes its easy to forget how easy changes can make the biggest of differences. I'll definitely be returning to this book again for weight loss advice.

Remarkable. Being able to read this and finally get a grasp of understanding on simple things I was doing wrong is remarkable.
The author has taken time to describe and detail individual facts and explanations to do with weight loss that had never made sense or even occurred to me before as a factor.
Thank you for letting me read this in exchange for a fair and honest review. I am excited to start implementing the practices explained, and to changing my mindset towards weight loss.

Easy read, practical, gives good tips for calorie counting and basic nutrition information. If you want to get back into more healthy eating, without any fad diets, this is a good guide book to start with.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher of "The Weight Loss Code" for the opportunity to read this book.

"The Weight Loss Code" is easy to read, sincere, and full of sensible tips and applications to help you with weight loss. The structure of the book is based on Fadipe's 3D's of weight loss: Decision, Determination, and Discipline. She gives you the formula for calculating your own BMI (body mass index) and breaks down our nutritional needs in easy-to-read steps, including websites and applications to further enlighten and aid you. The author also offers the reader ways to swap high calorie items for lower calorie and healthier choices. She addresses calorie counting and exercise as keys to weight loss success. Fadipe even includes photographs of herself taken during her weight loss journey as well as a photo which highlights her ability to maintain her goal weight. Delightfully, she also includes recipes. The ones I enjoyed the most were from her Nigerian culture!

My only suggestion is for the benefit of American readers who don't know what a kilogram is! Please include in parentheses measurements using the American customary system (non-metric).

Great book. Some really helpful tips in it. I got alot of helpful information from the smart swaps chapter and where does exercise come from.

The book is a guide for losing weight by calorie counting. It is an easy read, not filled with complicated jargon or faddish dieting suggestions, and as such could be a useful book for anyone wanting to lose weight sensibly. However, for me it was a disappointment as there was nothing new in the techniques she suggests. It was also frustrating to read a Kindle version where all the tables were completely misaligned and therefore of no value at all.

This book is a good motivator and it doesn’t have a lot of overwhelming technical speak that makes this book easy to read and follow. I would definitely recommend the physical book over the ebook bc it’s hard to see the graphs and charts. It is nice to read a weight loss book where the author has actually used the program and had success.
