A great read - I can't wait for the next book.

Soohyuk and Yuma meet when he moves to Korea to work in the hospital for a couple of years. Both are interesting characters and have issues in their past they are trying to address.

A quirky and different read.

I absolutely loved this book. The writing was quite quirky but in a fun way. I'm not sure if it's the way it was translated but it worked! I loved it. The story was great, I was a bit unsure with the start of the book, he came across as cold but I soon warmed to his quirky mannerisms within a few pages. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

Best characters ever! In most books, it is clear who the “lead” character is. This books offers a fantastic ensemble of characters and is worth reading for that alone. If the whole book was just these characters getting through a day, that would be entertaining in itself, but add a great plot line and this book really hits the mark.

Ryu Huang definitely keep my interests high with Just the Two of Us. I enjoyed the evolution of his characters and the book was a light read after an emotional week. I enjoyed that this was a love story that involved breaking down some barriers and allowing yourself to trust again. It was a great read for election week and I would definitely read book 2!

I saw pediatric medicine and Asians in the synopsis and was sold...at least initially. This reads like a bad K-drama. Like not the so-bad-it's-good type, but the just plain bad type.

I'm going to give Ryu Hyang the benefit of the doubt and say a lot of her story was muddled by translation issues. Translating is no easy feat, but the writing was so stilted and awkward, it was almost difficult to read. At points, it feels like words or lines were plugged into Google Translate and just copied and pasted directly onto the final manuscript. The story will randomly shift perspectives without any kind of transition, making reading this a jarring experience. It makes it hard to enjoy a story when the writing is wooden and filled with weird stylistic choices.

The plot is pretty much what you'd expect from a K-drama, but not very well-executed. It starts out extremely slowly (there's no reason this should be a multiple-story book) and isn't particularly well-developed. Let's be real, most Asian dramas are predictable and formulaic, and this is no exception. I spotted the birth mom the minute she appeared, and the relationship between the two main characters is a poorly written version of familiar tropes. He's the brilliant, arrogant doctor and she's the cheerful, go-getter chef. They're both orphans and have traumatic pasts. (There's also amnesia and evil mother-in-laws, so you get the full K-drama experience.) But their relationship can essentially be summed up by some sad attempts at banter and repetitions of "ba-boom" and "she's so cute."

The descriptions of food were probably the best part of the book, but it also made me super hungry so maybe it's not a good thing? I was already craving Korean food too...

A very sweet love story, soft but lively at the same time. Just the Two of us builds on a romance that burns until it's a supernova. It also handles the trauma very well, and resonated with me immensely. Really excited for book 2!

This was such a fun and amazing book! It really started off the series with a bang! I am already looking for the next book!
The story revolves around a blunt and cold doctor who only ever shows kindness to his children patients and a chef who has a fear of men. Doctor Soohyuk is known for not having great people skills but being an amazing doctor in his field. He wonders upon Yuna’s restaurant and just can’t seem to keep away from her.
Both characters are complex and have deep traumas, they seem to find a safe space with each other. I absolutely fell in love with these characters and this story. This is truly a love story. A low to trust and love story. Honestly, this book is strong on the emotions, a soft romance. This is absolutely the grump who can only be light when he is with the other half of his heart. I can’t not wait for book 2 to see where their journey leads.

This book was super cute and fluffy, I loved the rep! If i could compare this book to another it would be The Hating Game. The protagonist was likeable and bonded well with the love interest. It wasn’t my favourite book in the world but i did really enjoy it and finished it in two sittings.

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!! I absolutely loved the start to this series and I’m already craving the next book. I NEED IT. The story revolves around a blunt and cold doctor who only ever shows kindness to his children patients and a chef who has a fear of men. Doctor Soohyuk is known for being extremely cold towards people but an amazing doctor, yet he wonders upon Yuna’s restaurant and just can’t seem to keep away from her. Both characters are complex and have deep traumas, but they find that they both seem to feel more at ease around the other. I absolutely fell in love with these characters and this story, I can’t even begin to say how sweet their slow love story is. Honestly, this book has it all, emotions, a soft romance, and of course my favorite kind of romance: a grouch who is only soft for the person they like. 10/10 stars. I am so amped to read the next book and continue on their journey!

Ok first let me start by saying i loved this book! I was so hooked I couldn't put it down. Why, you may wonder, did I only give it 2 stars then? Because it isn't actually a book, it's part of a book. As an avid reader I've come to expect stories with different endings, some have an epilogue so you get to truly savour the happily ever after, some have a definitive ending where all the loose ends are tied up, and some have a cliff hanger ending, but still you feel as though most of the story has been told, and it's rather the side story you're dying to hear about in the next book. This story is none of those, this story literally ends abruptly part way through the story with no warning and no warm up to it, it's literally you're reading a story that reads as though it's in the middle of the book, and then at the end of the chapter it says to be continued. It's as though the author wanted a pay day and couldn't wait till she'd finished the whole book so tried to make it seem as though it's 2 books so she can be paid twice when in actual fact it's just 1 badly done book. The storyline itself was really good, as I said earlier I was hooked, but I would absolutely not recommend this book to others as it's the same as watching a movie with someone and turning it off halfway through; how is that enjoyable. Just one other thing, the grammar doesn't make sense in many places, it's as though it was translated from another language so that would need sorting before release. So would I recommend or buy for myself? Absolutely not!! Would I read anything else by this author? Only if she learns to finish her stories as they're told so well, but who buys half a book?

This book was so cute and lively. It is the perfect book to read at any time of the year when you are wanting something light. I really enjoyed the setting, character set up, and overall execution of the story. I can't wait for book 2!!
