This book took me a while to get through. It seems like it is supposed to be funny, but it is not my type of humor. Thank you to NetGalley and ECW Press Audio for a copy of this book for an honest review.

This isn’t my type of book. I thought it may be but it just wasn’t. I think if you like this kind of humor and subject matter, you may enjoy it. Now I know to stick within my standard preferences.

This is supposed to be satirical (I think?) examination of 90s pop culture told from the perspective of a sort of accidentally cool cultural snob. It started with strong Ignatius J. Reilly vibes, but it just didn't get there for me. I laughed a little, though not as often as Smith was reaching for. This just landed with me as very self-indulgent. In some ways, that was clearly the point, but I disliked everyone and didn't really enjoy the ride.
