This was a fun entertaining read that I enjoyed and read in one sitting. I think many of us can relate to that feeling when, overwhelmed by work, the temptation is to snuggle back down and pull a sickie to enjoy a duvet day. Alexa, a young lawyer, decides to act on that temptation but her relaxing day turns out to be anything. Finding herself locked out of her house, and dressed in a unicorn onesie, she ends up on a somewhat madcap day in London trying to track down her flatmate Sam in order to get a set of keys. There is plenty of humour and this is a light and enjoyable romcom that is perfect for a few hours of escapism.

What a delightfully quirky novel filled with fun twists and turns. I suspect that we've all taken a Duvet Day at some point and worried that we'd be caught out. The character development was very well done, even down to the the unexpected character of a certain Unicorn onesie. I've never read anything by Emily Kerr before, but I would definitely recommend this one.

Hilarious!! What starts out being a sneaky "duvet day" from work turns out to be an unfortunate series of events!.Alexa unwittingly locks herself out of her flat...and in an attempt to get the keys from one of her flatmates...the gorgeous Sam-things spinal out of control!
An easy read... sometimes a little unbelievable but nevertheless I really enjoyed this book. Ideal holiday read.

I needed a duvet day and this was such a great book to curl up with under the covers on a Sunday. It’s about being in over your head and all the times you just need to rest and recharge your batteries. I absolutely loved the main character Alexa Humphries and this is a funny romcom to take to the beach or read under your duvet.

I highly recommend this book and author.

I requested and received an Advanced Readers Copy from publishers and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced reader copy of this book. It was a joy to get an early look at this new book.

This entire book is set over the course of one day, and what a day it was!! While the amount of crazy things that happened in 24 hours was a bit incredulous, it was so funny and charming I didn't mind. The heroine was sweet, unlucky and had a big heart which made her very likeable. The book is well written and an easy read; I devoured it in a day. Overall, I enjoyed this book and will look for other titles from this author.

Duvet Day was an okay romcom with a fun premise that never felt like it fully gelled. Some parts felt like it would really play well on the screen and I wish I could see that. As a novel however, it fell a little short.

Duvet Day by Emily Kerr is the perfect reminder that eventually, everything will fall into place if you follow your heart. Alexa Humphries is stressed beyond reason as she is trying to pay her dues as a young lawyer in an established firm. After she is told she must work every waking hour to meet her billable requirements, she finds herself in need of a duvet day to combat the stress of the unreasonable expectations. She sends an email that she is sick and won’t be in, and everything that follows had me laughing out loud as she went from one misadventure to the next. I loved the laughs, and I loved how the story ended. I feel that, even though this is a light-hearted romp of a romantic comedy, it also contains an essential message about never giving up on your dreams. If you are looking for some relatable laughs and a character who is not afraid to wear a unicorn onesie in public, then Duvet Day is the perfect book for a weekend read that will leave you in stitches.

An interesting concept of what might happen if you take a sick day from a high powered law firm but get locked out of your shared house whilst taking in a parcel for your roommate you've never met! Make worse by the fact you are in an Unicorn onesie!! Alexa doesn't seem the luckiest of people when this happens to her! She attempts to find her way to her roommate Sam's place of work to get her spare keys. What happens along the way is hilarious! She gets involved with lots of things that try her patience and persistence!
A fun read with likeable characters and a great storyline! Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Duvet Day is light-hearted and fun which makes it a perfect, easy read on a rainy day.

I could totally relate to Alexa as I've certainly had days when all I've wanted to do is stay buried under my duvet, but somehow the world seems to conspire against me.

I was hoping for the romance to be a little more steamy and felt that fell a little bit short but overall I enjoyed the read.

We all need a duvet day now again to recharge our batteries and be ready to face the world again. When you think of a duvet day you think of a relaxing day, maybe a bubble bath, watching some films, reading a good book, having your favourite snacks, catching up on sleep ... Well young lawyer Alexa Humphries was feeling so burnt out from work that she needed a day to herself to help her recover physically and mentally. Her duvet day was the complete opposite to what you expect! She spent the day in her Unicorn onesie after being locked out of her flat. Alexa's day was completely filled with the unexpected beyond belief! But everything she went through, the people she met, the people she helped during her day, showed Alexa her true self, the wonderful caring and kind lady that she has always been. Alexa's work has always been very important to her but it had got to a stage where she needed to regroup, take a step back and see what life was really about and what and who she was missing out on - and in one day Alexa achieved this! An absolutely hilarious read! So funny, I was in stitches. Alexa's day was so out of the ordinary but you could imagine how it could have happened in real life. I loved Duvet Day, a superb read that will take you on one hilarious uplifting and romantic journey about self-discovery, being happy and achieving your dreams. Such a magical read!

This was a crazy, fast paced read about Alexa who decided she needed a duvet day from work to recharge her batteries. She was snuggled in bed eating Nutella from the jar when a delivery driver knocked on the door. That’s when things started to go wrong. I really enjoyed this book, Alexa got up to all sorts of mischief ( by mistake ) and found some unlikely friends along the way. Kept me on my toes and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.

Throwing a sickie to stay and snuggle up in bed and binge-watch a series or two… well, that's the plan…

Stressed Alexa Humphries decides to have a cosy day in bed with her beloved duvet; overworked, exhausted and unappreciated she wants a day free from her corporate job as a young lawyer. However, her plans quickly turn on its head as she embarks on an unexpected day to remember.

With a short timeline, the author packs much into the storyline yet it's not overwhelming. Alexa is both likeable and relatable as she muddles her way around London. There's hardly a dull moment with this plot twisty novel...and after diving into this blind, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. So, as the narrative unfolds, I enjoyed each surprise and development as Alexa's day progresses. Professional rivalry, romance and deceit are present during the day-long drama but, along with plenty of laughs, it all ends with a happy and satisfying ending.

To sum up; this novel is so much fun and a perfect distraction on a rainy day!

A crazy read following Alexa who decides to take a much needed duvet day. A day in a onesie under favorite duvet doesn't quite go to plan. A delivery leads to getting locked out of her house. You quickly become invested in the story line and then can't wait to find out what happens next.

The opening line of the blurb spoke to me on this book - the idea of the woman's true love being her duvet was something I could relate to!

Alexa was instantly likeable as a main character. The way her feelings of pressure and stress were described were very real and honest. I really liked the emphasis on that element of her life, as I'm sure it's something many readers will understand and is probably the reason why many readers will find their way to this book. I don't expect something like workplace stress to be glamorised in a book about taking a duvet day, but I was still pleasantly surprised by how much focus it was given throughout the story - it was revisited at several intervals and always approached with compassion and empathy.

Sam was a brusque yet engaging character and the power play between the two leads was an immensely entertaining feature of the book. In spite of this, I found I didn't really have the laugh out loud moments that the blurb promised; don't get me wrong, it was an entertaining story and it was humorous, I just feel it was slightly over-sold. I also struggled a little with the pace, as it was hard to believe that all of the things that occurred in the book happened in just one day.

Overall it delivered on the feel-good factor and is the right kind of book to pick up on your own duvet day.

Alexa Humphries is a lawyer in London. She feels so under stress from the relentless demands of her boss and competing with her housemate that she realises she needs a break from the daily grind. She does something she never thought she’d do and takes a duvet day. However her planned day of relaxing and watching box sets goes wrong at the first opportunity. Ending up locked out of her home dressed in a unicorn onesie, she ends up on a chase across London to track down a spare set of keys before her backstabbing housemate finds out she pulled a sickie.

This is a charming read that I read through in just over a day and would reset 3.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.

Although this book was very predictable (I clocked the Sam situation immediately), it was just what I needed after a hard week at work. For who among us has not craved a duvet day where we can chill out and mooch around the house having a pity party?

I could relate to Alexa feeling caught up in the hamster wheel of work and struggling to find where she fits although I did find it hard to believe she hadn’t even been to Southbank...

Although the story was well-written, characters weren’t particularly likeable and the interactions were a little far fetched.

That said, it was very sweet and relatable. While many of us who have lived in house shares in London have struggled with the issues of laundry, mess and stress, I felt sorry for Alexa that she didn’t have the fun and friendships that often go with it.

A little sugary in places, but a nice cosy read - perfect in fact for a duvet day

Have you ever be so burnt out by work life that you feel the need to call in and spend all day in bed? This book answers the questions for those who have no idea what to do with a Duvet Day!
This was such an enjoyable light-hearted read! The characters, story, and writing held my interest so well that I finished this book in one day!
Alexa, the main character, was such a delight! I loved her duvet day adventures all across London in her unicorn onesie, which ranged from protesting climate change, school baking contests to knocking down muggers off of mopeds! I was not overly invested in the romance plot line of the story and would have rather Sam and Alexa become good friends rather than romantic partners, but it was not the sole of the story so it did not take away from my overall enjoyment. I was well satisfied with the ending!
I would really recommend this book to those so are looking for a light-hearted read during a much needed duvet day or a day at the beach! I can't wait to read more books by this author!

Such a fun book! Perfect to read under your own duvet,
Duvet Day is a charming and hilarious novel. Alexa, a corporate lawyer, is worn down by the demands of her job and decides to take a sick day to relax and recover. However, after she is locked out of her apartment in her unicorn pajamas, chaos ensues.

When stressed lawyer Alexa wakes up one morning and decides to phone in sick, little did she realise how life changing it would be.
An easy light hearted read that covers a lot of today's issues.
Fun characters that gel well together.

Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for the opportunity to read and review Duvet Day by Emily Kerr.

From the blurb this sounded just like my sort of book. I started reading it on a wet and windy afternoon with a coffee and once I had started I couldn't put it down. It was such an enjoyable read!

I loved the MC, Alexa, right from the get go. I think we've all had those moments where we just need a break from work and everyday life. Unfortunately Alexa's 'Duvet Day' didn't quite go to plan and she ended up traipsing around London for the best part of 10 hours getting involved in all sorts of events from protests to a school baking competition after getting locked out of her house.

Without giving too much away the ending was pretty much how I expected it to be but I still loved it and it didn't distract from my enjoyment of the book. It was also very pleasing when a certain rather unpleasant character got their comeuppance!

Overall a light hearted easy read and I would definitely recommend it.
