When Sharks Attack with Kindness is an adorable picture book that depicts kindness and friendship among sea creatures. Great gift for young kids who need something positive and uplifting in a frequently negative world.

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

When Sharks Attack With Kindness is a heartwarming collection of uplifting comics. These comics can be enjoyed by all ages. I have never experienced Wawawiwa comics before, but I will definitely be seeking more out! The friendship, love, positivity, and acceptance displayed in this book are the perfect tonic for 2020.

Colmenares has created a collection of cartoons featuring ocean animals, especially a great white shark and his best friend, a pilot fish. While giving readers snapshots into their lives under the water, Colmenares invites readers to find ways to be a friend to those around you.
Honestly, there is nothing about this book not to like as Colmenares gives readers opportunities to laugh and be inspired by goodness. Every page is full of puns, encouragement, and kindness: the recipe for friendship -- whether under or above water.

This is a cute little compilation of one page comics and I have to say they are adorable. They are innocent and cute and you can't help but smile at them.

Did this book bring me immense happiness the first time I read it?
Most definitely.

So much so I decided to reread it before I came back and did my review.
And it made my day.

This is the kind of book you hand to a friend who is having a bad day, it has a little bit of everything. From unexpected puns, to hilariously cute misunderstandings, and a pelican showing a shark why they're scary.

It left me with wanting to share it with the world to bring them the same joy I felt.

I think this is an adorable way to deliver some really important messages about self-love, friendship, kindness. I love the concept of the fish as the shark’s tie. So cute. This is a good coffee table book, or one for an office waiting room. I can’t see someone picking this up and not smiling because of it.

This book is so cute 🥰🥰 I fell in love with the illustration and messages the second I started reading it. Thank you, Netgalley, for the eARC! I want to buy this book when it's available in the bookstores in 2021 😍

Highly recommended to all, not only children. Everyone should read this charming and lovely book 🥰

This little book is everything that's good in the world.

I already followed @wawawiwacomics on Instagram and knew I was in for an adorable comic book, but reading them one after the other made me realize that they actually tackle very important topics, like love, kindness and friendships, and it does so in a fun, fluffy way that makes you want more. If this was 1000 pages long I would still devour it whole. I just love the good vibes that come from every illustration and want all these characters to be my friends.

Any kid (and grown up) will love this gem of a book. I'm seriously considering getting it for my nephews.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the e-ARC in exchange of an honest and voluntary review.

When Sharks Attack With Kindness is probably the most endearing graphic novel I've seen out there. And really, there's no better time for this release than following the events of 2020.

Written and illustrated by Andrews J. Colmenares, When Sharks Attack With Kindness is a collection of sweet, funny, and cute comics. The cast of characters are of the fishy variety – and I mean that literally.

Sharks, fish, turtles, eels, jellyfish, and many other creatures that live in the ocean interact in this collection, and virtually every story has a kind focus. Hence the title of this graphic novel. It's an uplifting read, and one that will guarantee to bring a smile to your face.

I'll confess that I haven't read much of the comic that Andres J. Colmenares is famous for – Wawawiwa Comics – though I have seen it around (all over the place, really). So I didn't have a whole lot of expectations going into this. Yet I was still blown away, having a blast and a half reading it.

It did an excellent job of lifting my spirits, and bringing a smile to my face on multiple occasions. I have no doubt that this is a book I'd happily pick up any time that I was feeling down, because I know that it would help me out. Just like the characters portrayed would.

The artwork is fun and light – just like the stories themselves. Simple but boldly colored backdrops set the scene, while adorable sea critters take center stage. It's a perfect combination, and made When Sharks Attack With Kindness all the more memorable.

I have been a Wawawiwa fan since a long time ago. I truly love his comics. They’re cute, funny and I’m always marveled by their creativity. I’ve also read some of the comics about shark and his sea friends. So, I was sure I would enjoy this and I wasn’t wrong.

The drawings are sooo cute, I loved the message about friendship, love and positivity (especially this terrible 2020). And I’m so happy that the creator is publishing a book.

the only “bad” thing I can say it’s that I thought it was going to be a continuous full story (don’t know why), but it’s just a collections of comics (and I’ve already seen a few of the illustrations); besides, I couldn’t find the playlist (probably because it’s too early, but still).

So, the book really worth it. I highly recommend it. And, in case you’re still not a fan of Wawawiwa comics, what are you waiting for?

Cute and inspirational, filled with adorable sea creatures you'll wish lived in your ocean. A great book to read if you're feeling a little low and need a pick-me-up! We follow a shark and his little remora buddy (that doubles as a tie for work!) as they navigate life in the ocean and the creatures they encounter--jellyfish, penguins, starfish and more.

If you're a fan of Strange Planet, Sarah's Scribbles, Catana Chetwynd, you'll love this comic!

The perfect collection of short*one page* style comics on the topic of friendship+mental health. I smiled throughout the entire book! Simple yet adorable, with the most perfect illustrations! A fun way to introduce children to some different species of sea animals as well. Because I rated so early before release, the soundtrack meant to accompany this was not available to me yet but I imagine it only adds to the experience, I hope to listen to it at a later date!

This is the cutest book!!! The illustrator does the best job at using different aquatic animals to show kindness. I could see this being used in a lower grade to talk about kindness, or have it in a classroom library for older kids to enjoy.

Hahahaha!!! The sea human. That's a fun way of introducing a human in a world of sea animals!

I just love this book so much!

What's up with this colourful pages? I totally fell for the entire book cover to cover!

The illustration is just too cute to handle.

And the comics got me real bad. Because they poke you. Right at your heart. Like hitting the mean spot and turn you back to a better babylike being. We needed something like this. I needed this. Forget the kids who would read this. The adults are going to get this for the kids so the adult here is thoroughly impressed and telling the other adults elsewhere to get this and celebrate this cuteness.

Sharks holding coffee mugs. I mean I never thought I would see it ever. Friendship rules updated and done rightly so!

I repeat the entire book is just too cute. It makes you feel fluffy and soft and kick away all your fake friends.

Thank you, author and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

This is a sweet book. A collection of cute moments between a shark and his friends, I couldn't help but smile when I looked at the illustrations. Each picture is about friendship and invariably about it is humorous and sweet from a shark taking a selfie to going to a job interview. He and his friends don't have buckets of confidence but they buoy each other up with some kind words and that usually does the trick. A sweet book for the coffee table.

I highly reccomend this one it's cute, it's quirky, it's a quick read, it's inspirational in some way and it's all about friendship!
