Wine Time includes 70 simple and scrumptious recipes that go with your glass of wine perfectly. From snacks & bites, dips & spreads, vegetables, bruschetta & toasts, seafood, meat, sauces & condiments, to how to build a charcuteire board this cookbook has it all. It even had wine cocktails to take your wine drinking experience up another level! As someone who only sticks to the wine she knows, this book helps you explore different wines and foods that will bring out its flavor. The pictures make the food look delicious and the directions for the recipes are easy to follow, so no extensive cooking skills are required.
Recipes I am definitely trying in the near future include:
Parmesan Roasted Chickpeas, Zucchini Fitters, Pork & Ricotta Meatballs, Champagne Pom Fizz, White Wine, Orange, & Mint Sangria, and Rosé & Peach Sangria.

Entertaining can be a bit stressful, but Wine Time makes preparing to host a gathering approachable. With the beautiful arrangement of photos and smart overviews of cheese and charcuterie, plus helpful preparation tips for party foods perfect for gatherings, this is a book a person could turn to again and again to perfect hosting any social event. What sets this book apart is that it demystifies the challenge of pairing wines with the suggested recipes. This, in itself, is a treasure for shopping and preparing for hosting duties. Additionally, recipes are easy to follow for the home cook while allowing for that bit of presentation and flare that makes guests feel enticed by the food. You'll want to invite people over just to share these delightful and reliable pairings.
(ABOVE: this is what I'll share on Goodreads. BELOW: Just an observation).

One line from the introduction strikes me as oddly placed: "Even though there are so-called rules about pairing certain wines with certain foods, feel free to throw these out the window." This line feels out of tune, especially since each recipe was aligned with a wine or a selection of wines to pair with the carefully connected recipes. Also, another aspect of the cookbook that makes me tilt my head and raise an eyebrow is including recipes for pickled vegetables - things that are notoriously difficult to pair with wine and not something that is typically seen at a dinner party. Overall, I liked the cookbook and successfully tried some of the recipes, but I do think that any oenophile would put the book to the side and say, "Next."

For me, a wine lover who doesn't actually have much knowledge of wine and its pairings, Wine Time by Barbara Scott-Goodman is the nosh collection I've been looking for! I'm always searching for great bites to pair with wine and a Netflix binge (or maybe a party some day) and this book caters to exactly that. I've read and cooked out of my fair share of books and these recipes are as concise and foolproof as can be.

With plenty of vegetarian, carnivorous or pescatarian options, variety is abundant for even the pickiest of eaters. The Onion & Gruyère Tart with the suggested Champagne pairing really might become a monthly staple (if not more often) and Mussels with Chorizo & Breadcrumbs is elevated yet simple - bold flavors can often replace strenuous efforts.

Whether you're looking for ease or elegance, these recipes deliver as most are both effortless and polished. Seriously, pour a glass of vino, get in the kitchen (in that order) and make this food!

If your a host of some get together with friends and wine then this is a lovely book to behold. Wine Time pairs a specific wine to certain foods for a great evening.

What did I like? That cover is amazing and I absolutely love wine. This book does a smashing job of pairing wine with some lovely snacks and tidbits. Let’s be honest though you had me at the bruschetta chapter! The foods follow a Mediterranean diet from my opinion but don’t quote me.

Would I buy or recommend? If your really into Mediterranean foods paired with a specific wine then this is a great cookbook. I enjoyed the recipes but a lot of the recipes call for an expensive pallet. I’m much more low key but I loved to look through the recipes. Bruschetta is my favorite snack! If your a big host of friends then this is a great book! It has wonderful pictures but not every recipe gets a picture. Four stars!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!

I am always looking for new ideas for snacks and appetizers, and Wine Time is a new cookbook that is helping me to reinvigorate my food and wine pairings.
There are over 70 recipes in this book that range from meats to finger foods to dips. We’re talking bruschetta recipes, roasted chickpeas (which my husband is super excited to try), warm spinach dip, and so much more. There is even a section filled with wine cocktail recipes so you can breathe new life into that part of your wine drinking as well.
As much as I love the recipes, which are super delicious, the wine pairings are done in the most practical and easiest way that I have ever seen in a wine pairing book. In making suggestions for pairing a wine with your recipe, they simply suggest a certain vintage type (chardonnay, shiraz, etc.) and I appreciate that so much. By not naming a brand, they have opened the door for the reader, and eater, to choose what fits within their budget.

A great selection of recipes, and the suggested wines to go with them. I especially like the description of the various cheeses. Some recipes have a little hard to find ingredients, but overall sound easy enough. Would recommend.

Ok, this is exactly the cookbook I was looking for! I LOVE wine and this book is a perfect complement! Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but the recipes are amazing and not out of this world difficult. I have already marked all the ones I will be trying right away for my family and friends. There is a section on cheese that I found particularly useful as well.

Thank you for allowing my to review and discover this gem of a cookbook!

If you spent 2020 drinking boxed wine and surviving off Uber eats and now you are ready to pair a decent wine with some yummy home cooked meals, do yourself a favour and buy this book! I really enjoyed the wide variety of recipes from snacks to meals to cocktails you'll be covered for plenty of events and meal needs. Lots of fun options be great insight into which wines to pair, something it's a more broad recommendation and other recipes have more in-depth explainations for the pairing which is great because you can find a local wine and avoids being pretentious.

This is a fabulous book with great, easy to understand and prepare recipes and the pictures are so beautiful. I rarely by a “real” book but I will definitely purchase this one. I especially liked the section on Charcuterie, it was so helpful to have all the components outlined and explained, I am not sure that there are a lot of new and inventive recipes but lots of tried and true recipes that were maybe updated but were great reminders of good basic food.

I love the idea of Wine and Food pairings in a book but believe there are areas of improvement in this one. The food parings are what it says on the cover - 'simple bites' - mostly appetizers or a standalone meat vs meals. A great way to tie this book together would have been to create some meal options, where a menu is set using the recipes and wine that would work well together (i.e. a summer feast with fresh veggies, seafood and rose).

Some of the ideas felt a little too simple and rudimentary (i.e. grilled snow peas - I don't really consider that a dish worthy of a spot in a cookbook). I also always wish for more pictures in a cookbook. In an ideal world every recipe would have an accompanying picture. I appreciated the tips included throughout the book (i.e. 'Buying Seafood') and would love to see some tips on buying wine!

Wow what a stunning book. If it didn’t include recipes it would be the perfect food porn book for the coffee table. I still might buy a copy just to have around. Perfect pairings and excellent recipes for when we can all gather again.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a book of recipes that go well with wine.

There's a variety of recipes broken down by meat, dip, dessert, etc. I like recipe books that have pictures of each recipe and the recipes that have pictures are beautiful, but not there's not a lot of pictures. The book also notes which wines go with each food.

It's a nice guide to hosting happy hour and preparing foods to go with wine!

This book was received as an ARC from Chronicle Books in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

Everyone enjoys a glass of wine (I especially love one after a long stressful day, there is nothing more relaxing). Barbara Scott-Goodman shares over 70 recipes to enjoy with a glass of wine that will sure brighten the meal and even enhance flavors. I was really impressed on the variety of dishes she expressed throughout the cookbook and all the varieties of wine you can have with each dish that will pair perfectly. Unfortunately we can't consider this book for a future cooking demo however, there are a lot of patrons that will have an interest in this book who love to plan parties and have an interest in wine parings especially the select few that are studying to be sommeliers.

We will consider adding this title to our TX Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

I am officially obsessed with this book! I received a free digital copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, and I am definitely going to be ordering a hard copy for myself as well. I can't speak to how the wine pairs with each dish (because honestly I don't know that much about wine) but these recipes are perfect!

What I like most is that nearly all of these recipes are accessible and aren't very time consuming. The ones that are time consuming are super easy (like caramelizing onions...takes a while but isn't hard to do). Almost all can be made a day or more in advance which makes the entertaining process much easier. The layout and photos are gorgeous and I can't wait to try some of the recipes--I requested this at the perfect time because I think I'm going to try a few of them for family Christmas dinner!

This is a great book full of recipes for delicious appetizers and tapas type dishes. There's everything from spreads to bruschettas to meatballs and seafood recipes and guides to making homemade pickles. There's also a section for wine cocktails if you want to go beyond a straightforward bottle. Wine Time will definitely inspire you to elevate your next wine and snack night- I can't wait to give these recipes a try!
Many thanks to Chronicle Books and NetGalley for the advance copy,

I love this idea for a book. Beautiful pictures. Great looking recipes. The only thing I find that would have made this a more useful reference was to include wine suggestions with each recipe - sometimes that is the biggest struggle that I have.

This delightful cookbook marries all the best things about wine and food in a beautiful package. Filled with gorgeous pictures and delicious recipes, it makes you want to gather all your besties I together and celebrate something!

The recipes are relatively simple though some of the ingredients are specialty and might be tough to find. Nothing is overly prepared and favors fresh flavors and simple styling.

It definitely made me hungry and thirsty and ready to try a new wine cocktail! Pick it up when it releases in March!

What a great book that combines two of my favorite things wine & snacks/appetizers! The book is beautiful with appealing pictures & attainable recipes. I will definitely be trying the Mushroom & Goat Cheese Phyllo Bites, all the dips, spreads, & bruschettas, and the wine cocktails! The cheese board recos were also super helpful and a great reference!

Thank you Barbara Scott-Goodman, Chronicle Books, and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. #WineTime #NetGalley
