Steamy and surprising. This was a fast read for me with a pace that keep up from start to end and was full if interesting twists in the storyline. I was never quite certain what was going to happen and enjoyed every page.

I read this within a day and found it quite quick and easy to follow. Characters was ok, felt sorry for Laura at times, but Daniel wasn't exactly a hard nut to crack lol.

ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley

This is the 1st arc I ever requested before I knew what I was kind of doing and didn't realize I got the arc.

This is about Laura who is looking for a job to help take care of her moms cancer treatment and when a good paying job came up she couldn't not apply for the job even if the rumor is Daniels family's part of the Mafia.

Daniel isn't looking for anything just to please his dad work and get with anyone in a skirt one time and move on. Even his assistance.

They have a hate/ lust relationship until his dad is hot water and needs Daniel to get into business with a shady man.

This book was all over the place for me. One chapter they hate each other then ones lusting the other isn't then they sleep together and hes a dick afterwards but then also won't leave her a lone and puts her in a BAD spot.

This wasn't for me.

Short and quick. I wanted to read more mafia romances and this was a bit of a let down. Would try something else from this author though.

This sounded like a good book, but I was a little disappointed. It seemed to lack depth and could have been better if the characters and the plot were developed more. Hopefully, the books following will be better.

To Whom This May Concern:

I would like to say that this is the first book in the Mafia Sinners series. I have read Anna Ray before, so I am aware of her writing styling. The chapters are shorter, but there are more chapters.

The couple in this book is Daniel Marino and Laura Byrne. In the synopsis, the author writes that Laura can't stand Daniel. However, the trope is not an enemy to lovers trope. It is more of a workplace romance. The couple meets at a job interview, where Laura needs the job for familial needs. She finds him arrogant and flirtatious, but does not despise him. Their relationship was hot and cold throughout the book. Daniel developed more as a character than Laura.

In this book, the plot was very small. Daniel's ex was introduced and the "mafia" per se. This is not a typical mafia story. Like I said before, this is more of a work place romance than anything. It is a combination of 50 Shades Of Gray and The Office, but more of The Office versus 50 Shades Of Gray. The book is written in dual point of view, Daniel and Laura.

The "romance" scene was almost steamy. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes themselves. There are two romance scenes in the book. It didn't occur until 50% of the book was through. The dynamic was a slow burn and the author incorporated dialogue in the scenes, but it was choppy.

The ending of the book tied the book together and the character's conflicts were address.

With that being said, I give the book a 3 out of 5. The book was average. It wasn't terribly slow, but the information could've been condensed.

With thanks.

2.5 Stars

This book was just okay for me. There was insta-love, and creepy old guys, and an evil ex but it just wasn't that good of a plot for me. Plus the "hero" was kind of a dbag.

Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for my free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was technically my second time reading Tempted by Anna Ray but this version was the extended version. I can’t pinpoint the differences between the first version I read and this one but I do feel like I enjoyed this one way more. I also feel like I enjoyed watching their relationship grow. I like how even though Daniel was guarded he was protective of Laura and I like that Laura was doing the right thing by trying to help her mom. Laura seemed like a really good person at heart and I think it brought out the best in Daniel. They make a great couple and I’d love to see where they would be in the future. I wouldn’t consider this our typical mafia romance considering Daniel is trying not to be in the family business, but it definitely had some mafia dealings and monster characters. I’d recommend this to mafia romance readers and I’m looking forward to the rest of this series.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

This was a steamy, clever workplace romance! I felt like the two characters vibed with each other really well and I enjoyed their back and forth. The story was interesting and kept me on my toes and the romance was extremely steamy- it made me want a mob boss to tell me what to do haha:)

Tempted by Anna Ray is a short novel, written in Lauras's and Daniels's point of view.

Laura is a business graduate, who is looking for a job, so she can help her sick mother. Daniel, a successful businessman, is a womanizer looking for a personal assistant, after sleeping with the last one.
When Laura and Daniel start working together, there are sparks but there are also a lot of mixed signals between them. So when there is a Mafia Don, and an ex girlfriend thrown into the mix... well, you will see what happens.

What I loved was multiple POV's, I enjoy reading and getting to know the charathers through their own thoughts and this book really bring that. I didn't read a lot of romance book with so many chapters written in a male POV's so I was positevely surprised. This novella was rather short but it was a quick read.

What i found in the book that bothered me was that it was advertised as enemies-to-lovers and mafia story, which it isn't and the mafia part represents minimal involvement. And since the story is rather short there isn't a lot of details in the book, which I would be intersted in reading.

Overall this book is a good read if you are trying to test if you like reading about mafia in your books or if you just want an easy romance read.

I was torn between totally disliking Daniel and rooting for him. I enjoyed the premise and the writing style was easy to read.. I did enjoy the book. The characters could have been a little bit more developed along with the fleshing out of the story line. Just too short to do the story justice

“‘He’s an arrogant jerk,’ I said, still smiling with a dazed look over my eyes as I remembered hoe even his hands attracted me. ‘But… I understand why he’s so arrogant, that’s for sure.’”

Tempted by Anna Ray tells the story of a girl who desperate for a good job so she can continue to help her mother, who is sick. When she is offered one by a man who immediately comes off as arrogant, and inappropriate in the work place, she finds that the terms are too good to say no too. The further she gets into this world the more twisted things become.

To be honest, nothing about this story did it for me. The main female character, while seemed strong at times, also put herself in ridiculous situations, and was way too willing to accept the horrible treatment by the main male. I found nothing about the main male attractive. He was a user, who couldn’t seem to make up his mind. This book just wasn’t for me at all. I can only give it one star.

This book was a really quick and easy read, This is the first book I read by this author. i didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would but it still was a nice read.
It follows Daniel and Laura, Laura is looking for a job so she can help her mother with medical bills for treatment, She gets hired as Daniel's personal assistant, She is really hardworking and tries to ignore Daniel while he tries to flirt with her,

The story is both written in Laura's POV and Daniel's POV, so you get to see what happens from both of their views. I found this to more of an office romance with a hint of mafia. Daniel's father is involved with the mafia but Daniel does not want anything to do with it.

The chemistry between Laura and Daniel is crazy good.. Laura being a woman who puts him in his place and Daniel wanting get into her panties lol....

Daniel was a manwhore. He got mixed someone in Mafia, Sal to help his father. But he personally avoided crimes at all cost. Laura's mother had cancer so she needed to get a job for the money. She got the job in Daniel's company because she's hot. Daniel wanted her but he sorta kept his relationship professional until he didn't. Daniel brushed Laura off after sleeping with her. Sal who's also the uncle of Daniel's ex, Camilla, was actually had his perverted eyes on Laura. He asked Daniel that he wanna offer Laura a job and interview her. Daniel didn't really complain. He rather told Laura that their night didn't mean anything. Just the usual one night stand. So when Laura went for the interview, he realized his mistake and went to save her. After that, there were some issues with Sal and Camilla but they ended up together.
I'm not sorry for saying it that this book's just not for me. I don't know how can a person even enjoy it but whatever! I hated the characters. I didn't enjoy it. I have the other two books of this series which I have no intention to read at all.

This is the first book of Anna Ray's that I have read, it was only relatively short but it had a lot of action packed into it and I will definitely read more by her. The love/hate relationship between boss and his personal assistant is at the heart of the story, throw in a creepy Mafia boss into the mix and the fireworks start. A really easy, fast paced read that I certainly recommend.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest review. Daniel is a pretty self centered individual with a difficult romantic past. When he meets Lauren and hires her as his assistant she starts to change his world and outlook. He tries to deny the intense connection at first but when Sal and his ex threaten their relationship he realizes what true love is.
Great read and I couldn’t put it down.

This was a fun read! I went in reading this thinking it would be a bit cliche, but then the story turned and surprised me! This was an enjoyable and quick read, great for a rainy day or a long commute. The ending is a little quick and I want to know what happens to the main characters after the ending, so hopefully there will be a continuation! Overall, I would rate this 4/5.
- cute story
- relationship feels a bit rushed
- bad boy mafia who is actually really kind
- action packed twist

I did not enjoy this one as much as I thought I was going to. The writing and plot weren't as good as I was expecting them to be after reading the synopsis. I mean it had a lot of potential, but due to the writing and the lack of character development it wasn't something too good.

The plot felt very underdeveloped and lacking. Yes there was action (both fighting and smut) but the plot didn't align and felt all over the place.

There wasn't any true depiction of enemies to lovers in the book in my opinion. Laura was just an intriguing person to Daniel because she didn't give in to his advances the first time they met. And it did not have any true mafia action either.

The characters weren't well developed either, and felt very blad and without any depth.

Daniel, our male lead, couldn't get over his ex-girlfriend. And it was extremely annoying. Furthermore, the writer tried to portray him as intense and brooding but still a flirt, and was not able to portray the image very well.

The writers depiction of Laura, the main lead, was also very confusing. I couldn't understand if she was meant to be a self assured female who could stand up for herself or if she was meant to be the traditional damsel in distress. Because there were times when she was standing up for herself and times when she was more of a liability then any support.

Moreover, Laura's mother, her roommate and Daniel's parents just vanished for somewhere in the middle of the book. Which was very odd.

The only thing that made this story somewhat bearable was the banter between Laura and Daniel, but even that was lacking.
