Description

Mixing business and pleasure was one thing, but no one said anything about mixing in love.

Daniel Moretti is, without a doubt, the most insufferable boss I’ve ever had. Between his flirty comments and hot-and-cold behavior, he drives me insane. Something about his protective nature, though, whenever the slimy criminal mobster, Salvatore, slides near me, and the way he seems to open up to me at the strangest of times, keeps my thoughts hooked on him. Him being the sexiest man I’ve ever seen sure doesn’t make it easier to avoid the temptation.

Laura Byrne. Out of all the personal assistants I’d hired over the years, none were like her. Sexy and curvy, but with an elegance that had me captivated. She’s so obedient and does everything I ask, but still, she challenges me. I swore I’d never let another woman get close to me again, but something about Laura pulls me in. Even as she struts around the office in her tight dresses, I wasn’t going to let her in, no matter how tempted I was.

As tensions between Daniel and Laura grow hotter, so do the stakes. A corrupt business deal drives a wedge between them when someone in the mafia decides Daniel and Laura are getting too intimate.

Anna Ray is a romance author, breaking into the genre with an extended edition of her new novel: Tempted: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance. Tempted is the first stand-alone novel in her mafia series. Readers love the steamy chemistry between Daniel and Laura, so be sure to watch for her upcoming romances.

Sultry stares, passionate embraces, and suspense await you inside Tempted. This enemies-to-lovers romance will have you flipping the pages, begging Daniel or Laura to make the first move!

This was such a cute workplace romance! I didn’t feel like the mafia aspect was super prominent in the story but I still loved the love story between Laura and Daniel! It was exciting throughout the whole book. Laura was a super strong female character who wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself and put Daniel in his place. Daniel tried to be a clean, stand up guy (but still a possessive alpha male) and there was a hint that his father was involved slightly in the mafia. I wish the mafia portion was more detailed.

Wow! This was such a fun book. I couldn't put it down. It was gripping, exciting, funny, sexy. Just a great read.
I loved the multiple POVs, especially Daniel's. I always have a soft spot for romances from men's POVs. The characters were decently developed considering the length of the book and the amount of time dedicated to the plot. I loved the bad guy, he was so easy to hate, perfection! The plot was brilliant. Very well-paced. I didn't even notice how far into the book was until I read the Epilogue.
I enjoyed the writing. It was heavily thoughts and dialogue-based which fitted with the fast-paced drama and plot. The sex was tastefully written but also smutty enough to be classed as erotica.
It was a nice romance. It could potentially have used a little more relationship building that wasn't sex/appearance-based, but it's a short novel so that's understandable.
Overall a nice read. Definitely recommend if you want something quick, fun, and action-packed.

This is the first book in this latest Mafia romance series and it is actually a combination mafia/office romance It is only a fast read as it only took about an hour to read so perfect for when you don't have a lot of time

Daniel Marino is only interested in making money and quick flings he has no intention of ever having a committed relationship and he rends to go through PA because he keeps having said flings with them Now he has a new PA Laura Byrne and he is determined that the same thing won't happen again he will stay away from her which is going to be easy as she is the first woman that has ever resisted him. As his illegal business deals put Laura in the cross hairs of his business partners he starts to realise just what she has started to mean to him and he will do whatever he needs to in an effort to keep her safe.

I liked this book but it was just way too short for my liking. Everything happened fast paced and I found myself wanting more. I wanted to see more of Laura and Daniel’s relationship come about. Also more stuff with the mob and Laura’s reaction. Also, there was only one sex scene, which was great don’t get me wrong. I just kept finding myself wanting more

At the beginning of the book, I felt like the whole storyline was something I already read before. As I continued to read the book, I was hooked in and did not want to put the book down. I loved how each chapter was from the other characters point of view but that each chapter and each point of view built on the previous one. I finished the book way to soon and I am hoping there is a sequel coming so I know what happens next to the characters.

Complementary copy from Netgalley given for honest review and opinion. I could not put this book down. This book is a great suspenseful romance. I am surprised it isn't listed as such. You will have to read it for yourself but at one point I was screaming "don't go in there." I can't wait to see what else Anna Ray brings to me.

Tempted by Anna Ray is the first book in the Mafia Sinners Book series. This book is a forbidden office romance with some mafia lifestyle mixed in. Daniel is a womanizer as well as a business man who just so happens to be the son the leader of the Mafia. How does this work exactly? Does he get to choose his lifestyle?

Daniel needs a new assistant he can't seem to keep them. He either sleeps with them and they get clingy or they aren't competent enough to stay and do the job. Daniel takes what he wants when he wants it and he always gets exactly what he wants.

Laura is looking for a job and this one pays well even if it is working long odd hours and could possibly very well be connected to the mafia.

Tempted by Anna Ray is the first book in the Mafia Sinners Book series. Forbidden office romances are one of my favorites and this didn’t disappoint. I was instantly drawn to the chemistry between Daniel and Laura. Daniel, the playboy womanizer who runs his own business, but is also Mafia? Instantly painted a vivid picture in my mind and I was hooked.

Daniel interviews for a new assistant, hoping that he can keep this one longer than the rest. Laura, driven by her desire to make enough money to help out family-nothing will stand in her way. Getting to read from both characters points of view was also nice to really feel their emotion throughout the book.

As the book progresses, Daniel finds himself wanting to protect his new assistant as things get heated up with his business deals. Laura isn’t just his secretary anymore and he will do anything to protect her. This book is a great first in the series and I am very excited to read more.

This was my first time reading this author and I enjoyed her writing style. There was a good overall flow and balance between our more heated scenes and story action. Nothing seemed forced and the story seemed to move almost organically. For a short story Anna Ray did a good job of not making it feel rushed.

We got to know both Laura and Daniel and what their motivations were before they made the move into becoming something more. I even enjoyed the spice thrown in from having Daniel's ex pop in from time to time. Salvatore proved to be a good tension point but did seem more of a forced character, much more of a stereotype than having actual substance.

The "conflict resolution" (don't want to post a spoiler) at he end didn't quite seem finished to me. It all came together and was solved rather easily without any big fuss which is not typical in this genre. I would have preferred a bit more fallout after the events in Daniel's apartment. I think we could have benefited from another chapter or two to flesh it out.

I would like to thank NetGalley, the author and publisher for providing me a free copy of this story. I am voluntarily giving my own honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the digital ARC of this book that i just finished moments ago. It was so good I got online immediately to leave my review. This was such a great story. I wish there was more details as to why the father and son were even in this situation but overall the love story and action were WONDERFUL! I am heading to book two as we speak. BTW the sex scenes were also LOVELY! and exciting!

Daniel just getting over a heartbreak needs someone to help clear his head. Thats not an easy task as he is always busy running his business. When he hires a new personal assistant he hires for looks but gets more than he bargained for. She also has brains and ends up falling in love with the boss! Just the right amount of crime and love!

This was a fun read! I went in reading this thinking it would be a bit cliche, but then the story turned and surprised me! This was an enjoyable and quick read, great for a rainy day or a long commute. The ending is a little quick and I want to know what happens to the main characters after the ending, so hopefully there will be a continuation! Overall, I would rate this 4/5.
- cute story
- relationship feels a bit rushed
- bad boy mafia who is actually really kind
- action packed twist

3.5 Stars for a Tempted mafia romance that was a sexy read until the end.

After reading some of the reviews for this novel, I was skeptical on how I would enjoy it, but like what others say... Don't judge the book until you actually read it, as others will have different thoughts and fantasies.

"The rumors were true. He's a mobster. A criminal. "And I trusted him...""

I will say that even though it was an enjoyable, weekend read; it wasn't a fantastic, hands down novel. Now, don't get me wrong, the characters had chemistry and the sexy scenes were wicked-hot, but I think there could have been more scenes added in the office, out of the office to give it the 'enemies to lovers' feel, cause I didn't get the feel of that part of the story. To me, there was no hate, angst, etc. between Daniel and Laura.

Other reviews stated there wasn't a Mafia feel or vibe, I beg to differ on this. Maybe there was another version that I am not aware of, but there was a slight hue of a mafia family vibe to the story and plot to the story. A suspense even to the story. It wasn't a strong, in your face theme, but there was a most definitely a hint.

Daniel and Laura worked well in the office and sometimes out, but when Daniel needs 'help' from her to seal a deal, will he regret it later on?

I got swept away with Anna Ray’s Tempted. This is the first book that I have read by Anna Ray & it definitely won’t be the last!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest review. Daniel is a pretty self centered individual with a difficult romantic past. When he meets Lauren and hires her as his assistant she starts to change his world and outlook. He tries to deny the intense connection at first but when Sal and his ex threaten their relationship he realizes what true love is.
Great read and I couldn’t put it down.

This is the first book of Anna Ray's that I have read, it was only relatively short but it had a lot of action packed into it and I will definitely read more by her. The love/hate relationship between boss and his personal assistant is at the heart of the story, throw in a creepy Mafia boss into the mix and the fireworks start. A really easy, fast paced read that I certainly recommend.

The chemistry between Laura and Daniel is crazy good.. Laura being a woman who puts him in his place and Daniel wanting get into her panties lol....

Tempted by Anna Ray is a short novel, written in Lauras's and Daniels's point of view.

Laura is a business graduate, who is looking for a job, so she can help her sick mother. Daniel, a successful businessman, is a womanizer looking for a personal assistant, after sleeping with the last one.
When Laura and Daniel start working together, there are sparks but there are also a lot of mixed signals between them. So when there is a Mafia Don, and an ex girlfriend thrown into the mix... well, you will see what happens.

What I loved was multiple POV's, I enjoy reading and getting to know the charathers through their own thoughts and this book really bring that. I didn't read a lot of romance book with so many chapters written in a male POV's so I was positevely surprised. This novella was rather short but it was a quick read.

What i found in the book that bothered me was that it was advertised as enemies-to-lovers and mafia story, which it isn't and the mafia part represents minimal involvement. And since the story is rather short there isn't a lot of details in the book, which I would be intersted in reading.

Overall this book is a good read if you are trying to test if you like reading about mafia in your books or if you just want an easy romance read.

3.5 stars
I know this says enemies to lovers on the cover, but they aren't even mild adversary's to be honest. It is an office romance with more of a push and push back kind of interaction.
I liked the characters, Laura is strong willed but professional, Daniel is professional but flirty, Sal is the super sleazy old guy and his niece(Daniel's ex) is a manipulative brat.
You can definitely tell that this was an expanded story as it has a few rough spots that feel like filler, but based on how the characters made me feel I'm definitely interested to see what she writes next.

Tempted by Anna Ray was about Daniel and Laura. Daniel has links to the Mafia, but Laura knows this as she goes for an interview with him. She is hired on the spot as his personal assistant. The job turned into something more than she expected, but with an NDA she can't even talk to her best friend about it.
The chemistry between Laura and Daniel is hot and heavy. I thought the storyline was very good, all the characters were meaningful. I would have liked the ending to have more detail after Sal died but regardless overall a good read.

A short yet very good read. Felt like the plot and characters could have gone through further development, been a little more fleshed out as while the interactions between different characters was great they felt a little one dimensional.

Despite this it was an enjoyable read and I would and will be reading others from this author.

This was technically my second time reading Tempted by Anna Ray but this version was the extended version. I can’t pinpoint the differences between the first version I read and this one but I do feel like I enjoyed this one way more. I also feel like I enjoyed watching their relationship grow. I like how even though Daniel was guarded he was protective of Laura and I like that Laura was doing the right thing by trying to help her mom. Laura seemed like a really good person at heart and I think it brought out the best in Daniel. They make a great couple and I’d love to see where they would be in the future. I wouldn’t consider this our typical mafia romance considering Daniel is trying not to be in the family business, but it definitely had some mafia dealings and monster characters. I’d recommend this to mafia romance readers and I’m looking forward to the rest of this series.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
