Thank you to Netgalley and Ad Lib Publishers for this ARC in exchange for my review.
Marathon Mum is the story of Rachel Brown, who documents her struggles with loss, marital issues, and depression. She finds marathon running as a way to cope with her mental illness and starts the organization Mums to Marathons to connect with and help other women with similar struggles. I liked this book as a whole and think it is an important story to be told. I enjoyed the stories of her travelling adventures, appreciated her honesty in sharing her depression in detail, and loved the concept of using marathon running to help with mental health struggles. I also like that the organization helps many other women, who also share their stories in this book. The writing style didn't always resonate with me, and some of the content may warrant more of a trigger warning in the summary of the book. But overall I think this book is a benefit to women with similar experiences.
