Let It Grow! is a delightful picture book that follows a young boy as he grows a giant pumpkin. Along the way we learn about the various stages in the life-cycle of a pumpkin. The best part is when we finally get to see what the boy's ultimate plans are for his giant pumpkin! I really like the notes in the back about the real life inspiration for the story.

My two year old and I loved this book so much that I might have to buy a copy for her when it’s released! We have a lot of plants in our home and my toddler loves to join me when I’m watering and taking care of them, so Let It Grow! was a wonderful learning experience for her. The simple repetition kept her interest, so she was able to pay attention while we read important facts about growing plants from seed to full maturity and all the different ways we can utilize them. The accompanying imagery was beautiful and engaged her in the story by pointing out what the pictures were (“a pie!” “a pumpkin!”). The metaphor of nurturing yourself in all the different ways you may need was beautiful as well and I can see us reading this book together again and again as she grows up.

Let’s talk pumpkins! This cute little is book is about teaching patience and the importance of nurturing plants to kids. The author chose a pumpkin for her book. She has also shared fun facts towards the end.
The book is simple, sweet, and easy to follow for little kiddos. The illustrations are cute when you look at them the second time.
While I know about pumpkin competitions, racing in rivers by floating on the pumpkin is something totally new to me. It sounds like a fun activity.
In my country, India, pumpkin is used more like a vegetable (though it is a fruit). The orange, green, yellow, and white (ash gourd) variants are used almost throughout the year. We make quite a few dishes with pumpkin. The Halloween carving is, of course, nothing something very common.
I remember we had the pumpkin creeper in our kitchen garden when I was a kid. My grandparents’ home had a couple of them. Almost every home until a few decades ago had a kitchen garden, and pumpkin was an inherent member of it.
This was a sweet book to read, and I went back in time to my childhood for a few minutes.
Thank you, NetGalley and Capstone Editions, for the ARC.

A nice alternative to the usual books about the life cycle of a pumpkin. I had no idea there were races in boats made from pumpkins! A nice touch that I think school children would love.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A young boy has a pumpkin seed and throughout the story he tells the reader what he is going to do with that seed.

Wow this book was really interesting and not at all what I expected. The photos and descriptions at the back were ideal for an early reader to get an extra boost of information. My 7 year old would be extremely excited to get answers to the questions that the book created and as a parent I love that the book gave them to us right away. The story was very easy to follow and definitely created a fun sing-songy anticipation with each page.

The illustrations and story were quite lovely and worked extremely well together and I'd like to compliment the representation in the main character.

I was looking for a book about gardening and I just wanted something short and pleasing to read that won't take ages to read when I found this little jewel. I loved the cover and it was about pumpkins the most magical fruits!

This book is about a boy who wants to plant a seed but not any seed, this one will grow to become a great big pumpkin. It is a nice story to make kids love gardening, growing and planting things but the most important lesson is to learn how to be patient while cultivating and taking care of your garden. The story was nice and the illustrations where beautiful to look at. A nice book to offer to children at this period of time with a plant to grow.

This was such a cute little book, all about my favourite fruit! Pumpkins are so verstile which is proven by the many ways the child could use his pumpkin. Starts from a seed, then grows to be a giant pumpkin that is used in a boat race.
Children of all ages will enjoy learning about how pumpkins are grown, and the many facts about them.
Thank you #netgalley for the advanced copy to review. All opinions are my own as always.

I fell in love with this book before I even got to the end and realized it is based on a true story!

The illustrations are perfection. The message, the story, the real pictures at the end.

I will be purchasing this for my kids this Fall.

What a lovely book!

Small boy plants a tiny seed and explains at each stage why the process isn’t complete yet. From first leaves to vine, to flower, to small pumpkin that grows huge, to hollowed out and decorated boat, the reader sees the value in patience, the joy in growing things and the cycle of plant life. Could be good read aloud with audience participation predicting what comes next.

Did you know that if you plant Dill's Giant Pumpkins seeds and let it grow and grow it can be so big you can enter it into the State Fair!? And maybe even hollow it out and decorate it and join the Windsor Pumpkin Regatta?! Loved this wonderfully illustrated book full of vivid colors!
I requested and received a free temporary ebook copy from Capstone/Capstone Editions via NetGalley. Thank you!

I think this is a great children's book! My children and I have been attempting to garden the past few years and they enjoy seeing their hard work pay off. This was a really sweet and simple book seeing one little boy's journey growing a pumpkin. Throughout the book we also get to see all the many different things we can do from the pumpkin, from using the flowers, to making a pie, to the final full circle of using the seeds to plant some more pumpkins. The book was really easy to follow along and hand some great illustrations. I think this would be a really great addition to a children's library and I enjoyed reading this with my kids! Definitely recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy.

"I'll let it grow!"

Patience and determination of the young boy allows for a pumpkin to grow and grow until it is big enough to be a boat for the Giant Pumpkin Regatta! What is this you ask? You'll have to read this informative book to find out!

I learned so much from this book that I know children of many ages will have so many questions and wonderings to share. This book would be the perfect addition to any classroom as it provokes knowledge building, curiosity and shares the many possibilities from a small simple seed.

What will you grow?

Thank you to Capstone and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

I really like this book, it is perfect for reading to young children and for children to read for themselves. The text is simple and understandable and leads you through the book rhythmically. The illustrations complement the text and are very attractive. I like information at the end of the book designed for the adults who are reading it.

Any book that might encourage children and adults to grow things is a good book in my opinion, whilst aimed at young readers this book will help encourage growing as a family activity. I like this approach a lot. I would buy this book for my family and friends with young children.
