I was already familiar with Osho’s teachings on meditation self introspection and this is a great companion to his other books. This has 365 meditations/insights that could be read in order or however you like. A devotional type book that promotes looking inward.

This book blew me away as all OSHO books do. I wasn't surprised in the least with what an amazing read this was. I always feel like I need more OSHO.

Everyday Osho is a book of 365 meditations that can be read by topic, at random, or sequentially. Whichever way you choose to approach this book, you will no doubt find messages that resonate with you.

I have read several books of this type and while there isn't a lot that's new here, there are many lessons that we need to hear again and again until they become a part of us. Everyday Osho will help get you to that point.

My thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Essentials for allowing me to read an ARC of this edition which is scheduled for publication 8/24/21. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I love how calming this book was to read. I initially had no idea what osho was but this book, as it is supposed to, taught me the ins and outs of the practice and gave a little backstory and history about it. I enjoy reading books like this because it opens my world up to new cultures and helps me expand my own worldview.

Everyday Osho: 365 Daily Meditations for the Here and Now by Osho

"Love should not be demanding; otherwise it loses wings, it cannot fly. It becomes rooted in the earth, becomes very earthly"

In times like we have now, a book like this is so very essential!! This book is all about positivity and a simple guide in getting us to stop ruminating a past that we all seem to get stuck at sometimes!

"Whenever you love something, you hate it too. You will find excuses for why you hate, but they are not relevant"

Though it's a simple 365 points explained shortly, it's best to be read over a period of time, trying to absorb and apply some positive points to our lifestyle

You have all the gadgets that technology has provided for you, so what can tomorrow give to you that you don’t have today? The hope that there is a betterment in life makes me go on and that's why hope is everything

Thank you netgalley and publishers for my copy

I love Osho philosophy and having his great thoughts in a short once a day book is brilliant. I have been reading each day this past week and it has set a great tone for my day. Osho thoughts are thought provoking and opens your mind to another way of viewing the world and yourself. A must read in my opinion.

It's been a while since I visited my Osho book collection, which includes the original edition of this book. Everyday Osho is now being revived by St Martin's Press, and I'm so grateful to the NetGalley and St Martin's for an advanced copy of this book to review. Even though I've read it before, it was almost ten years ago, and at a time that I truly needed it. The time has come again that I believe I need these meditations in my life, and so I feel gratitude for being able to read them again.

Within the pages of Everyday Osho I believe are meditations that can resonate with just about anybody. There's 365 of them, which you might decide to read over the course of one year, cherishing one a day, or, like me, you may decide to scan through the contents and choose whatever speaks to you at that particular moment.

In the opening of the book, Osho states, "Meditation is very simple: it is nothing but consciousness. It is not chanting, it is not using a mantra or a rosary. These are hypnotic methods. They can give you a certain kind of rest—nothing is wrong with that rest. If one is just trying to relax, it is perfectly good. Any hypnotic method can be helpful, but if one wants to know the truth, then it is not enough. Meditation simply means transforming your unconsciousness into consciousness."

The meditations that resonated most with me were the ones about Gratitude, Self-Improvement, Authenticity, Low Energy, Darkness, Sleep, and Anxiety.

I felt like the self improvement meditation was written for me, it was that relatable. "Self-improvement is the way to hell. All efforts to make something out of yourself— something of an ideal—are going to create more and more madness. Ideals are the base of all madness, and all of humanity is neurotic because of too many ideals."

I find as a society we are constantly trying to improve ourselves, become better, do more, achieve bigger things, fit ourselves into the boxes that others build for us. This simple meditation was a reminder that we do not have to try to become somebody else, we can enjoy being whatever we are.

The Low Energy and Darkness meditations met me where I'm at right now in my journey. I feel in terms of my mental health, in the darkness, and with that, comes low energy. Osho's meditation says there's nothing wrong with low energy, just as there is nothing right about having high energy. When talking about darkness, Osho states quite beautifully, "Never be bothered by negatives . You burn a candle, and the darkness goes on its own. Don’t try to fight with the darkness. There is no way, because the darkness does not exist— how can you fight with it? Just light a candle and the darkness is gone. So forget about the darkness, forget about the fear. Forget about all those negative things that ordinarily haunt the human mind. Just burn a small candle of enthusiasm."

Finally, at the end of the book is a meditation called 'beginning', although it's the end of the book, Osho says, "wherever you are, it is always at the beginning. That's why life is so beautiful, so young, so fresh."

Each meditation is very short and concise, and can be brought anywhere with you, each one meeting you wherever you're at on your personal journey. I imagine this as the kind of book that can sit on a shelf for one thousand years, and still hold the same meaning and value that it does today.

Osho's teachings are so wise, and I think everyone can benefit from them. In this very special book, you will have your eyes opened to the power of self-love and the truths to living life more fully with much more insight and clarity.

Everyday Osho Is a daily meditation book that has a daily topic for each day of the week selected from dialogues between Osho and hundreds of visitors over a 20 year period.
The book has a topic of focus for each day starting off with a quote and then further exploring the topic. I admired the frankness and sense of humor of Osho as a breath of fresh air compared to other meditation books I have read. The format is easy to follow and you can easily find a topic if you are looking for a specific meditation. I did wish that the book had some visuals such as illustrations to accompany each topic, but enjoyed the book despite this. I would recommend reading the topic before your daily yoga or while drinking your morning coffee. Enjoy!

Very good directive on a daily meditation regimen. Easy, calm, focused meditation plan. I will continue to use.

I did not finish this book - I found that the paragraphs under Osho's work were over-explaining. Osho's writing is beautifully crafted, and I feel like this disracted me from it. However, others may appreciate the author's interpetations for day to day reading.

I found the cover of this collection of meditations to be quite appealing in its calmness. I felt invited in to see what the entries would state. There are 365 messages in all, one for each day of the year; the purpose of these meditations is to direct readers to be mindful in the here and now. If you are a person who likes to take a little time each day to ponder life’s mysteries, give this title a look. It definitely offers food for thought.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.

"Osho, known for his revolutionary contribution to the science of inner transformation, continues to inspire millions of people worldwide in their search to define a new approach to individual spirituality that is self-directed and responsive to the everyday challenges of contemporary life. The Sunday Times of London named him one of the '1,000 Makers of the Twentieth Century,' and novelist Tom Robbins called him 'the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ.' " From Amazon's Osho webpage.

I never heard of Osho before picking up this book, so after reading the first few meditations, I was intrigued enough to want to know more. Considering there is a meditation for everyday of the year, this is a huge undertaking for the author, and there is just so very much to consider in the daily readings.

Whether you're an OSHO fan or not, this has some solid wisdom in it. He was very prolific, so It would be easy to create a few more of these. However, this does seem to include some of his primary messages. Good stuff.

Thanks very much for the review copy!!

Overall I enjoyed reading this book. There were several meditations that really stood out to me. My favorite one was “All the love in the world can be given to you, but if you decide to be miserable, you will remain miserable. And one can be happy, tremendously happy, for no reason at all - because happiness and misery are your decisions.”

There were several passages that I disagreed with though for example there was a chapter on history “History is so ugly. Man has not reached the level at which history should start. It has all been nightmares.” While I agree with Osho that starting each morning completely new without allowing the past to cloud our day I disagreed that history and the past should be completely forgotten.

I plan to purchase a copy of this book so that I can reread the book slower and really focus in on the passages.
