This book was an insane ride, and i enjoyed every second of it. The lush and creative world with Argentine inspiration is layered and interesting. I love our main protagonists, and all the side characters as well. The topics addressed, including but not limited to, gender roles, lgbtq+, immigration and overall themes of fighting for what’s right were weaved into the story perfectly. This was a great sequel.

I have so few words for CAZADORA. IT... IS... AMAZING! I've been waiting for the Romina's sequel to the amazing LOBIZONA. Manu is back! Of course, they with their friends, are still fighting for a better future. Such great character development. The characterizations were amazingly done. The plot kept me on my toes. Fantastic job. I highly recommend this one.

I really loved this book by Romina Garber. The feminism and dealing with a government that regulate people as illegal was very powerfully done in both this book and the last. This one I feel focused even more on feminism and that womanhood isn’t just what body someone was born into. After reading Lobizona I knew this was a book I had to read and am so greatful I got to read it as an arch. I liked most aspects of this book but some of the world building did seem rushed.

Everything I loved in Lobizona is absent in Cazadora. I've made it 25% and don't want to finish.

What started as a magical and heartbreaking tale of a girl illegal for things out of her control, has turned into a heavy handed, left-agenda'd book where someone in trouble for a biological anomaly is compared and equated with political choices. The issue of nationality or eye color is not the same as biologically being one sex but identifying as a different gender, and by mixing them all together, the message against "building the wall" in the US is watered down and forgotten. Regardless of where you stand on any of these political hot topics, this book is like watching the news. The magic is gone.

Lobizona gracefully handles real issues using Argentinian myth, facing the reader with a chance to empathize with real people in the US today. Cazadora is Garber's ax to grind and a sell out.

Thank you NetGalley and St Martin's Press for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

I didn’t think this sequel could be better, but Jesus Christ this book was perfect. My heart. Romina writes so beautifully and makes you feel. Manu, brave, brave Manu. Her spirit and strength are captured so beautifully I was moved to tears.

Cazadora starts right back up from where Lobizona left off without missing a beat. We are introduced to new characters that remind us that we cannot be caged by the identities, classifications, and/or societal expectations placed on us. The way Romina weaves in these topics through this magical story so flawlessly is truly a work of art.

You need this book & I need a third book in this series.

Cazadora by Romina Garber is an excellent novel that has it all: fiction, magic, complex narrative, wonderfully developed characters including a fabulous and larger then life main female character, and a narrative that kept me captivated. This is the follow up book to 2020’s Lobizona and is the second book in the Wolves of No World Series.

I really enjoyed this book’s predecessor and to fully appreciate the character development and plot continuation, one really needs to read the prior book first.

I loved the continuity of the characters, their goals, the overall narrative and goals that continue with this second installment. To see Manu change, mature, and grow within the book compared to the previous, is very rewarding. She is really coming into her own and becoming more confident. She is such a complex, intricate, and fascinating character that I cannot help but like.

I enjoyed the author’s ability to intertwine a rich tapestry of folklore, magical, and otherwordly realm with real, current-day, and earthly societal and cultural concepts and problems. The ability to create an ethereal but yet sobering and heavy world is impressive and is a work of art.

I really hope this series continues so the heroine can find everything that she deserves.

5/5 stars

Thank you to Wednesday Books and Net Galley for an advanced copy of this! Cazadora picks right up where Lobizona left off, and the world-building in this book is even more fantastical than the first. Cazadora continues to explore the real-world themes from Lobizona, including identity, racism, colorism, sexism, and more. I loved seeing Manu’s relationship develop with her friends and loved ones, and even though I was sort of disappointed by the lack of a HEA I’m really hoping that there’s a third installment so we can finally see Manu gets the love and happiness she deserves!!!!

Cazadora is a fantastic YA book that is the follow-up to Lobizona. I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is perfect, the characters are gorgeously written, and the story is intriguing. Once again the author has written a top YA book of the year. Romina Garber is hugely talented and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.

All we want is people is to find our safe place, our home, our pick. These are the people and places that love us no matter how damaged, beautiful, imperfect or perfect we are. They are the spaces and places that allow us to grow and flourish and hold us up when we feel most down. For Manu she though she had finally found that place but she realizes that being asked to run and hide, again, is a bigger burden than she can shoulder. The question is if this pack will allow her to be who she is or will they try to fit her, like a round peg into a square hole, in the narrative they have constructed.

I was so excited to read the second book in this series and it did not disappoint . With nods to other works of literature like beacons to an English major, the author reminds us that words have power and the power possibly to change the way we see our levels, the way the word sees us and the ways of our world. Manu continues to deal with issues we see in our world today around “illegal” individuals, those who have turned to us for a pack, a new beginning, and a chance for possibly something better, but have we done our best to be accepting and open minded? This book challenges us to do better. To be better. And to give people the space to be who they are at the very core of themselves.

Cazadora picks up right where we left off in Lobizona. In this second book we completely leave the human world behind to explore all the wonders of the Septimus' world. Manu and her friends are on the run from the Cazadores that seek to lock her up and punish her for the crime of existing as a hybrid. Manu, Tiago, Cata, & Saysa must convince their people that Manu is nothing like the myth of la ladrona, the evil half human folktale that has scared the Suptimus for centuries. Romina Garber has created a world rich and full of wonder that also makes us question the morality of what it means for a person, or lobizona, to be illegal.
While I know this is planned as a duology she has left the door open for a continuation and I am hoping for a third book!

“They want to know if I can keep up with the wolves? Let them wonder if the wolves can keep up with me.”

I received an advanced readers copy of Cazadora by Romina Garber from Netgalley and St. Martins Press — here is my personal review!

🐺🌔 Cazadora by Romina Garber is the follow up to Lobizona — and the story picks up right where we left Manu and her friends. In Cazadora we get the chance to see how Manu’s actions are starting to impact the rest of Lunaris. Manu finds new allies and faces new challenges as her powers continue to develop. Manu is finding her voice, but must fight to use it in a society that wants to silence her.

Y’all!! I am in love with the universe that Romina Garber has brought to life in this series. Lobizona was one of my top reads of 2020 and Cazadora is an amazing sequel that earns 4 stars from me. The writing is gorgeous and the magic is so easy to lose yourself in. We get to see Manu develop so much in this book — she was just starting to grow in the first book and now she gets to bloom.

Cazadora comes out on August 17th — which gives you plenty of time to read Lobizona if you haven’t got around to it yet! 🌔🐺
