This was only a sampler. But from what little of it, it was very good beginning. However, I can’t give a full review because I need to read the whole book to fill a well grounded opinion.
* Screaming to get the ARC of this book *
Thank you Netgalley, the authors and the team behind this book.
Shall we start with the review? I SAY YES.
From the cover (Don't deny it reminds me of Darkling) and the title you know this book will be your new bane (and I mean it, it took me almost no time at all to finish reading it).
What kind of characters are portrayed here? The answer is all kinds, but the greyness of them is the most appealing (I hate it when a character is so soft).
What about the magic of the book? Don't make me talk about it or I'll drop spoilers, but I can tell you it was special and wild.
Are there elements in this book used in other books? Yes, at times I felt like I was reading the hunger games, combined with vikings and game of thrones, very weird but strangely it works (I love brutal).
What about the characters? They all have their why's and you end up loving their story.
God, tell me the sequel won't be long in coming, because I can't wait for more.
Seven families fighting over the most powerful magic left in the world. Who wouldn’t want to read that? Amazing character introductions and world-building. I want to read this now!
My thanks to the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review a sampler of this book.
As this was a sampler it’s not possible to give a full review, but based on this preview I’m very very excited! It seems like it will be a twisty dark academia, with unsettling character interactions.
This book is unfortunately not for me. The plot sounds right up my alley, but after reading the snippet I don't have any interest in carrying on. I didn't feel invested in or motivated by any of the characters and don't find the plot super compelling.
I... absolutely loved this - and I need the rest immediately. I know without a doubt that this is going to be one of my favorite books of the year.
You don't seem to realize how much I need this book in my life. This tiny snippet has only proved I will go feral until I can get my hands on this book.
