A very entertaining set of Regency era romances. In this era, courting rules were strict and a scandal could ruin your whole life and take your family with you. It's a different genre than my usual read but I need a break and a touch of romance every now and then. These are definitely SIGH worthy.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. What a great series. The cover is beautiful. Great women drama/romance. Recommend

Three previously published novels, No Ordianary Duke, More Than a Rogue, Her Seafaring Scoundrel are published as a set. The stories are about 3 women who end up in the country running small orphanage--they have each done something to offend society. While all 3 are wary of adding men to their lives, they manage to get over it. Not the best of Sophie Barnes.

This was a wonderful series! I loved that the characters were seen in each of the series. All of the books were well-written and engaging for the reader right up until the last book. The characters were well-developed and complex and very interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the books and I think my favorite was the last one. Don't get me wrong, they all had drama, emotion, humor and suspense; however, I found the last one to be the most exciting. All are romantic. All will be satisfying reads. Highly recommended.

The Crawfords Series by Sophie Barnes

This is a beautifully written series of books about triplets who have been living overseas when the eldest returns home and discovers his father and eldest brother have perished in a fire. He is now Duke and it’s the last thing he wanted. The books subsequently follow the journey of the brothers and the relationship with three friends who have been disgraced by society and family. It has humour and many hurdles they each have to overcome to find the love they have all been denied.

A lovely read.

I received an ARC of this collection through Netgalley and I thoroughly enjoyed it. No Ordinary Duke is the story of Mary Clemmons and Caleb Crawford, the Duke of Camberly (though she doesn’t know that). More Than a Rogue follows Emily Howard (best friend of Mary & Cassandra) and Griffin Crawford, brother of Caleb. Her Seafaring Scoundrel follows Lady Cassandra Moor and Devlin Crawford, third brother of Caleb. Coincidentally, they are triplets, but Caleb is the oldest, and therefore, becomes the Duke upon the death of their oldest brother. It’s unfortunate that George, the eldest brother, died because he seemed very much like the triplets in temperament and personality, although he was willing to put up with their domineering father in ways they were not—certainly due to the fact he was the presumed heir.

It’s not easy for me to remember the names of books or characters, but when I run into a familiar plot, I generally notice very quickly. That’s what happened with Her Seafaring Scoundrel, which is funny because it’s the last in the collection. I originally read this story just over a year ago, which I confirmed by looking for my review on Goodreads. Five stars and a very detailed glowing review made it easy for me to decide it was worth reading again. (I’ve added it to my review here.)

All three stories feature individuals who have no interest in marriage who fall in love despite their intentions. Each story contains a surprise connection between the couples that doesn’t become clear until much later in the plot. Every twist proves that even when we suffer terrible losses, there is something better waiting for us. They also demonstrate how incestuous and insulated the ton could be. It seems everyone knows everyone else in some capacity or another. I loved every one of these stories and characters and highly recommend this collection.

No Ordinary Duke
This story earns five stars. Mary Clemmons & Caleb Crawford, Duke of Camberly are the main characters in this story. However, we also grow to know Emily Howard and Cassandra Moor (Mary’s best friends) and Griffin and Devlin (Caleb’s brothers/triplets). It’s a fun story with an interesting twist, which I don’t want to ruin with a spoiler. As an aside, Mr. Townsbridge and his sister do not come across as likable characters. Sophie Barnes is a skilled writer and I highly recommend this book.

More Than a Rogue
This one also earns five stars. Emily Howard & Griffin Crawford are the main characters in this story, the second in the Crawford collection. We still see glimpses of Cassandra and Mary (Emily’s friends) and Caleb and Devlin (Griffin’s brothers/triplets).

One of the things I loved about the storytelling is how names changed according to POV. When it was Griffin’s POV, he thought of Emily as Miss Howard and when it was Emily’s POV, she thought of Griffin as Lord Griffin. Of course, this changed later when they decided to become married (no, not a spoiler).

Everyone, on occasion, says stupid things. I loved this description of one such faux pas: “...for some unfathomable reason, Griffin’s mouth had detached itself from his brain.”

I really enjoyed this story.

Her Seafaring Scoundrel
This five star review is from a year ago, when I was just learning about Sophie Barnes.

Thanks to Netgalley for another great book. I was unfamiliar with the author, but pleased to discover she competently portrays a depth of emotion not found in all books within this genre. Here, she addresses the issues of grief and guilt and how they can haunt a person (or persons) who stays stuck in the past and fails to face the possibility of a happy future. Cassandra lives in the past, devoted to a fiance who died on the day of their impending wedding, leaving her pregnant with a now-13-year-old “illegitimate” daughter. She lives in a state of perpetual grief, feeling as if she cannot even consider betraying the love she once pledged to Timothy. Devlin lives in a state of perpetual guilt for deaths he feels he caused, though of course, he is not ultimately responsible. As a result, neither feels deserving or capable of loving the other, though for different reasons. As we all know, the heart often has a will of its own and pursues love despite our mental gymnastics to prevent it.

Penelope, Cassandra’s daughter, is exceptionally incisive and mature with observations like this one: “You want to hold on to the past, the present, and the future all at the same time. You want Papa to come back and for no other person to take his place...Except he’s not coming back. Not ever. So it’s time for you to let go and move on or you’ll never be truly happy. And I’d really like for you to be happy, Mama. I want it more than anything else in the world.” Although there aren’t many 13-year-olds with the level of maturity demonstrated by Penelope, there’s no reason not to believe she is exceptional, considering the circumstances of her life and upbringing. Luckily, Cassandra takes her words to heart.

Meanwhile, Devlin is realizing he loves Cassandra and is desperate to win her love. At one point, wracked by his guilt, he “needed at least three glasses of brandy in order to think straight. Or perhaps not to think at all, he decided while trying to figure out what he should do.” The confusion, and sometimes torment, experienced by those in love are on full display, the author describing such emotions in vivid and compassionate detail. It’s difficult not to become ensnared in the passions of the characters. I absolutely loved this book and I’m anxious to read more from this author.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. The ladies are all different and fall in love with three brothers. There is a good storyline and it is nice finding out about what is going to happen.Thank you for being allowed to read these books.

Three beautifully crafted stories from a bygone era, involving ladies and lords, dukes and duchesses, all the intricacies of the aristocracy.

These were no ordinary men, not the stereo typed gentlemen we are used to seeing. These were gentlemen no doubt, but they were certainly different. The ladies were even more surprising - not run of the mill missish types, all from the aristocracy but all with a will of their own and acting in a manner which sets the aristocracy alight!

These were fun stories to read, beautiful settings and very descriptive. It was ideal reading as a change from the WWII books I've got so drawn to recently. Very entertaining.

This is a three book series of a Regency romance. The books are inter-connected, but each story can stand alone; that said you will enjoy it more if you read them in order. Each story has a main couple and the tale is told from two points of view. The identical Crawford triplets, sons of the Duke of Camberly do not care for their autocratic father's career choices for them. As the Duke already has an heir in George; he expects the "spares" to become clergy, or enter the military. Deciding to choose their own path, Caleb, the eldest; becomes a well known architect in France. Griffin, the second born becomes a world renowned clock maker in Vienna; while Devlin becomes a well respected ship's Captain. The triplets return home after ten years only to find that their father and George have recently perished in a stable fire. No chance now to show their father how wrong he was. Caleb is now, unhappily; the Duke. Each of the triplets are drawn to unconventional women, who have been unfairly spurned by society. Each book tells the tale of how the man must win his fair lady.
The author does a very good job of world building and each of the characters are unique, with their individual strengths and weaknesses; but they are all very real and compelling. Each story has its own plot line and they are interesting. The males have a tendency to not communicate (surprise!) and the females tend to run, rather than fight it out!
I received an ARC from Net Galley. I chose to read the books and the review is mine alone. I enjoyed the books and would recommend them to others.

A lovely trio of recency stories, a set of triplets meet their match in 3 very unusual friends. After being disgraced in the eyes of society Cassandra, Mary and Emily run an orphanage in the Cornish countryside until their lives are disturbed by the arrival one at a time if the Crawford triplets. Each story follows the tale of each of the triplets and his meeting the woman who will change his world whether he likes it or not. I really enjoyed this collection and loved how they each included an epilogue which took the reader beyond the traditional happy ever after and told them how the story truly ended.

The Crawford series tells the stories of three brothers and their journey on the path of love.

Each brother has an insecurity and mind-block they have to overcome. How they manage to do it and find the love of their lives forms the crux of each story. Each story deals with one brother and their love interest.

Their love interests too have their own baggage which they need to deal with. They are women who dare to be different from the norm. They have managed to break away from the confines placed on them and live life the way they wanted. All this combined together makes up for some interesting stories.

I loved the last book the most- Cassandra and Dev's story made the most sense to me and really touched my heart. The next favorite was the 1st story based on Caleb and Mary's lives. In fact, the 2nd book was my least favorite among these three as it felt a bit too long and I just couldn't connect with the main leads..

In the end,  all three books combined gave a good reading experience. Thanks to the author and Netgalley for providing this ARC.

Author Sophia Barnes tantalizes the reader to include myself in each of the books via a different approach, but one that each of us will appreciate with humor and as readers with opinions. My opinion is that I loved each of the books for different reasons, but I loved all the characters in each of the books because they were interesting and they had what I would say was candor and distinct viewpoints which gave each book there own personality.

I would definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for a great read!

I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately I wasn't enraptured by this series. I read two of the stories and couldn't connect with the characters. While I liked that all the women featured where independent and didn't let the men they attracted dictate their future, I didn't enjoy their interactions as I should have. The men took sexual liberties too early on and I felt the author didn't develop their relationship enough before adding marriage to the equation.

I received this series as an ARC from NetGalley.

This series follows a set of triplets who are the upper crust of England through adventures in life and romance. The three stories are a fantastically well written - strong stories with women playing more of a role than they should during the time period.

This series is not to be missed.

Caleb, Griffin, and Devlin Crawford are triplets. They are in fact the triplet sons of the Duke of Camberly. The Duke managed to irritate all three of them so badly, they left England. Years later, they are back. Each of them has made life he is happy with and proud of. Caleb is shocked to learn that his father and older brother have died in a fire and that he is now Duke. Cassandra, Mary, and Emily, all ruined in the eyes of Society, have escaped London and an orphanage. They are independent, successful, and happy. Their stories are interesting and emotional. A surprising secret in each story reveals a connection between the hero and heroine. This is an entertaining series with three engaging couples each with a unique story. I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories.

I received an ARC of this series from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

What a fantastic set!

Each of these books is delightful as a standalone romance, but all together they seamlessly flow into one amazing story about two families - one a set of triplet brothers who all left home years ago, the other a makeshift family of friends and orphans - and how their lives become beautifully intertwined.

Caleb, the eldest, unexpectedly becomes a duke upon the tragic deaths of his father and brother. He runs across a set of spinsters - three women who have, for various reasons, left Society and banded together to run an informal orphanage. His story intersects with one of the three, Mary, whose own history is inexplicably intertwined with his own. One by one, his brothers Griffin and Devlin make their way home and find their forever afters with Mary's friends, Emily and Cassandra.

These stories were such a joy to read! Lots of insightful, honest emotional interplay with just enough sizzle to satisfy. I loved the attention to detail shown in overlapping the stories and characters, and the many years later epilogues are everyone a swooning reader could hope for. If you love historical romances, you don't want to miss these. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Three complete books now together in a boxed set. Each book is a Crawford brother, brothers who are triplets. Three ladies are friends who run an orphanage in Clearview. Each lady is a spinster with her own reason to stay away from the gossip and criticism of London society. Obstacles stand in the way of their happiness. Only a Crawford will overcome them to wed the lady he loves.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This is definitely a collection not to be missed.
Ms. Barnes has such a smooth writing style and does a great job of developing the characters. These are very well-written stories and I think the author did a very nice job of bringing the characters and stories to life with vivid descriptions. The storylines flowed smoothly and the plot twists kept me turning the pages anxious to see what would happen next. Follow Caleb, Griffin, and Devlin, three brothers who are against marriage, as they navigate their hearts and find their way to love. The unconventional beauties they fall for are all strong and independent women. Their stories will pull you in and give you hours of reading pleasure. Once I started one, I had to read them all, and I'm so glad they came in a set so I didn't have to wait. This is a gem.os a collection and one I am happy to recommend!

I was given a free copy via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
