Haylah Swinton is a teen girl who wants to be a comedian. She starts a Youtube channel and is getting great feedback! Unfortunately there's a lot of drama in her personal life that is causing her problems...including a boyfriend her won't kiss her and the return of her dad. When her two worlds collide how will Haylah handle things?

I thought this book was pretty cute. Haylah's struggles and triumphs were things very easy to relate to and cheer on. The only thing I would say is that I thought this was a YA book, but I think it's geared towards a much younger audience. And I could have done without all potty humor. But overall Haylah is a girl who other girls can learn from and strive to be more like.

I was given this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Thank you to NetGalley and Peachtree Publishing Company for this ARC.

Thank you netgalley for providing me an ARC of this book
I wasn't very intrigued by the description of the book but now I'm glad that I got to read it.
Haylah Swinton - she's big, bold and funnier than a cat in a onesie playing the bagpipes. She's been busy proving she's as a kick-butt comedian, she's got herself a fab boyfriend called Dylan, the best girl crew in the world totally have her back, her little brother isn't driving her totally nuts, and did she mention she has a boyfriend called Dylan? Yes, THAT Dylan.

This was a laugh out loud but the main heroine was just so comical. It was hard to take her seriously and I didn't like her much, to be honest. She was too direct for my taste. It was a cute story though.

At the end of the day, this duology is a feel good, laugh out loud funny, body positive and honest portrayal of an awesome, fierce girl. I'm so happy that I read them!

Cute book that deals with choices in life and the consequences that come from our actions. It is well written and entertaining. Easy read and goes by quickly.

while a quick & funny read, the main protagonist (haylah), as far too many moments that left me cringing and irritated. a fun read though!

Pretty Rude For a Girl is a humorous read with a quirky, fun main character,

I wasn’t originally pulled in my the synopsis, but I thought I’d give it a try. And overall I’m glad I did! Halyah was a relatable and strong lead, and I loved the fact that she was an aspiring comedian. Her relationship with Dylan was a bit immature at times, and there was nothing special about it, but overall it was a cute addition to the story. The plot was fast-paced, and I was able to finish this over the course of a day. This is a perfect read for young teens, and I’m sure they’ll find lots of laughs and smiles between the pages.

This book was really enjoyable. Rebecca Elliott expertly navigates a story that weaves around self doubt, broken families, and new love. This story was a fast read for me. The story and plot were engaging. At 15, I would never have had the guts to have a YouTube channel (should it have existed back then) let alone do an open mic night. Haylah’s character is inspiring with her body positive image and bravery. Haylah is unashamedly herself. However, being 15 in itself is a challenge and one that Haylah is learning the hard way to navigate. Excellent book with excellent characters. I would recommend this book!

This one just isn’t my style. I really wanted to like it - I’ve been wanting a fun contemporary but the writing style just wasn’t for me.
