An adorable children's book teaching readers about all kinds of germs, from the good germs in your gut and digestive system to the bad germs that get you sick.

A helpful read for older children who might be nervous about the news of Covid-19 to help discover that not all germs are bad.

A colorful, visually appealing nonfiction text about germs and how they work inside of our bodies. Text is easy understand, and is broken up into small blurbs in a way that is digestible for kids. We purchased at my library.

The microbiome has become a subject of fascination for me so I was super excited to read this book. It does a solid job of explaining the role of microbes through the body with a primary focus on gut flora. We take the full journey of eating to elimination, learning the vital part bacteria play in breaking down and drawing nutrients from our food. There are plenty of easy to understand parallels and the tone is quite conversational. The illustrations feel a bit dated and cheesy but the information is strong.

Thanks to a global pandemic, we've been talking about germs and viruses a lot lately. Recently my child exclaimed in frustration, "why do germs even exist?" "Oh!" I replied. "I know just the book for that!"

The Good Germ Hotel is a fantastic picture book that answers exactly that question--why do germs exist in the world and why do we have them in our bodies? In an entertaining, cartoon-style format, this book shows how good microbes in our bodies help us with important things like digestion, how bad germs can make us sick, and the importance of both antibiotics and probiotics to keep us healthy. This book was a great reminder that all of us are hotels for (mostly) good germs and we wouldn't (couldn't) have it any other way!

This a fun and very informative book about bacteria in your body.It is a picture book. It was detailed yet easy for kids to understand. It refers to the body as a hotel and the bacteria as inhabitants. It mostly shows digestion and the process of that.
