This is a must read thriller!! We meet Amy who is getting ready for her wedding to Matt. She meets a stranger who gives her a warning about her fiancée. Who is she? And how does she know what is going on?
The story is told from the perspective of three different women- I love it!
I devoured this book in a day.
This is my first book by Debbie Howells, but not my last!
I would like to thank Avon publishers and NetGalley for the chance to read this book. All opinions are me own!!

Two weeks before her wedding to Matt, a stranger stops Amy in the street and warns her that she is in danger. Amy brushes it off as nonsense, but then that night, Matt doesn't come home, and as the days pass and no one has seen or heard from him, Amy starts to wonder if the stranger wasn't some sort of clairvoyant. Then another woman named Fiona reports a missing fiance by the same name and it turns out that Matt was leaving Amy for Fiona. As the police begin to dig deeper they uncover two versions of the same story, but figuring out which one is the truth, is easier said than done.
This story is told in alternating parts between Amy & Fiona, along with random entries by an unknown person who has ties to it all, but you won't discover who it is until the end of the book. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing up until the end, and the storyline is captivating and will keep you on edge. If you like mysteries & suspense, then you will deinitely want to add this to your TBR pile.

A wedding, a missing groom, a double life, a secret from the past comes to life...what's not to like.
This story has all the intrigue for a wonderful story. I was a little disappointed in the fact that the daughter was smarter than the investigators, but it is not the first time they get focused on a person of interest and stop looking. But all things considered it was a good story that I couldn't put down.

This was a good psychological thriller! I was captivated from the first page! Howells keeps you on your toes the entire time. She hooks you with the mystery, drama, suspense and secrets! You just don’t know who to believe until the end! The plot was very well executed including how she links up everything in the story. There’s also just the right amount of eeriness to the story. I enjoyed the multiple POV and double life.

This book started out very strong but then fizzled out due to the writing styles and the inconsistencies in the story. The protagonist was unlikeable and pathetic - I could not root for her and barely wanted to know her motivations or thoughts at all. I skimmed a lot of the book and it was contrived and implausible. I will try another book by the author though.

This was a really fantastic read. Lots of twists and turns, all handled really well. I guessed the big twist just before it happened, but that's because I was so engaged and coming up with dozens of ideas about what could possibly be the big reveal. I enjoyed that it was written in multiple POVs, and each of them added to the story. The title of the book is a really clever, appropriate one. Overall, a really good read that may have just picked me up out of a reading slump!

Amy has so much to look forward to; her upcoming wedding, her daughter, her friends. Except a verbal warning and her fiancé disappearing sets off the unraveling of her life. People have lied to her but then is Amy really telling the truth about HER life? This plot was developed very smartly. I liked how Howells linked everything and everybody together. This is a good mystery, suspense, deception novel which will please readers’ desire to know who really did what to whom and why.

Amy refuses to believe Fiona’s lover can be her Matt – but photos prove otherwise, and it soon becomes clear that Matt has been leading a double life. As the police dig deeper, two conflicting, yet equally plausible stories emerge from two women who allegedly have never met.

This was a pretty darn good thriller with a heck of a lot of twists, turns, thrill and suspense. Amy and Matt are 2 weeks away from their wedding and Amy is warned in the street by a stranger that she is in danger. Matt appears to have disappeared! She learns Matt is hiding some secrets, but she has some of her own as well. The story is told in Amy and Jess' (her daughter) point of view.

What I liked? Strong main characters. Twists and surprises galore.

What I didn't like? Seems to be following same thriller/suspense recipe of other novels. A tad bit predictable in some parts

Overall, I enjoyed it.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Vow was my first time reading Debbie Howells, but it won't be the last! This is a great psychological thriller that takes you through events both past and present to find Amy's missing fiance, Matt. Although I had a good idea about how this one would turn out, it was still suspenseful and kept my attention to the very end. This is not gory or contain a lot of violence but does mention abuse and murder. It is a good choice for both thriller newbies and seasoned veterans of the genre.

Twists, turns, suspense a touch dark in turn right places. Debbie Howells will keep you on the edge of where ever you read …seat, bed, park bench … wondering what’s next.

I enjoyed this book. It kept me on my toes and the twist ending was great! Debbie Howell tricked me with the plot twist. If you enjoy a good thriller, I recommend this read. I was a little confused with the switching between the three characters, but I could still completely understand what was going on with the plot.

This book wasn't bad. I enjoyed the writing and the plot was interesting enough. There was suspense and the way the book is told, via Jess, Amy and Fiona's point of view was enjoyable. The author threw in another point of view from the past who is an unknown narrator...I really liked that.

What I didn't like was the repetitiveness and the fact I figured out some things. It didn't take away all my enjoyment as I wanted to keep reading to find the why and if I was correct. There was a pretty big coincidence and you have to suspend belief a little bit, but if you can do that it is an okay read. And although the women in this story make many mistakes regarding love, friendship and a multitude of others...they still came off as very strong (if a bit naive), independent women who know what they want and go after it.

I liked this book enough to give it three stars, which on my scale means it is a good book and I would read more by this author.

I went into this novel with high expectations. I absolutely LOVED the cover. I am that typical "judge a book by a cover reader" . However, this novel fell short for me. There was too much repetition and a very far fetched plot. I cant tell you NOT to read The Vow, because the first half of the book was definitely enjoyable . I also enjoyed the symbolism within the herbs and flowers, I was definitely intrigued

I have read a few other of Debbie Howells books and enjoyed them thoroughly. I wish I had a better rating for The Vow!

Matt & Amy are about to be married when Matt goes missing one day. Soon, everything starts to unravel. Amy finds out that Matt was living a double life with another woman. Did Amy have something to do with Matt’s disappearance? Did the other woman?

What a tangled web this story was! I thoroughly enjoyed all of the twists & turns. And there were a lot! I found myself wanting to read more and more until I found out exactly what happened to Matt. The book was easy to read and the characters (most) were likable enough. I especially enjoyed Jess’ character, Amy’s daughter. She was strong & resilient.

This was an entertaining read that while the ending was guessed a bit into the book (part of it), I still found myself wanting more. I would recommend this book, it was a great thriller!

An interesting story that weaves, twists, and turns in a sometimes purposeful and sometimes meandering path. The ending works out okay, but it takes a few too many turns to get there.

With only two short weeks until their wedding, Matt and Amy have some finalizing of plans to do. However finding her missing fiancé was not on Amy's list. Amy was ready to marry Matt, until he strangely disappears and she finds out he was planning to leave her for another woman. Amy is determined to find her fiance, whether she wants to be with him or not because evidence is piling up that she was the person behind his disappearance.

This book grabbed my attention in the beginning but as the story line progressed my attention drifted elsewhere. It wasn't until the end that I was interested in it again. I thought the storyline of why what happened and to who was interesting, I just wish the middle section wasn't so dragged out. I understand that their was some development that had to be done, but there was a lot of time spent where the characters were just confused. It is for that reason I am rating this book a 3.

Thanks Debbie Howels, Harper 360: Avon and NetGalley for the advanced copy to read for my honest review!!

Wow I loved this book! I definitely have to look into this authors backlist. Two weeks before her wedding, a stranger stops Amy in the street and warns her she’s in danger. Then that night, Matt, her fiancé, doesn’t come home. Desperate, Amy calls the police – but when Matt fails to emerge, she’s forced to call off her wedding day.

Then another man is reported missing, by a woman called Fiona – a man meeting Matt’s description, who was about to leave his fiancée for her. He was supposed to be moving in with her – but instead, he’s vanished.

Amy refuses to believe Fiona’s lover can be her Matt – but photos prove otherwise, and it soon becomes clear that Matt has been leading a double life. As the police dig deeper, two conflicting, yet equally plausible stories emerge from two women who allegedly have never met.

The wedding day never happened. But the funeral might.
