When I picked up this book, I didn't expect the author to be a physician with over 35 years of studying infectious disease all around the world.
So, once I saw that, i thought, "I bet this woman has AMAZING things to tell us all."
And she does. She brings true life experiences to the pages as she writes of making choices,, changes, and taking changes to get where you want to be.
One of the phrases of wisdom she has is "It's never too late for a do-over". That hit me hard because I think we all convince ourselves it's too late to do anything we've wanted to, but after Dr. Davis' positive words, I'm making it my new mantra.
As she discussed stories from the field, I appreciated her honest and caring storytelling as she's seen some awful things and found ways to continue stay positive.
This is a great book for anyone, especially those who might need a bit of encouragement after a big life change, graduation, or simply someone who needs to see how opportunities abound. You simply have to know how and where to find them.

*I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Disappointing. I was looking forward to a solo female adventure travelogue, inspiring and encouraging me to follow my dreams and discover the world. Instead I got a constant stream of the authors amazing achievements in medical fields, (if she says she eradicated small pox from India once she says it at least 20 times), and her jollies bouncing around from one friend's posh pad to another. Hardly any 'risk' involved when your job is paying and your mates are putting you up.
There are some interesting insights into some countries but on the whole if you're wanting adventure, excitement and challenge this isn't the book for you but if you're a fan of small pox eradicators you're in for a real treat...oh except I think the actual work done around that project is in a different book by the same author she just tells you she has done it in this one!

A great memoir! Based on the author’s true-life experiences, working thirty-five years internationally in infectious diseases in twenty countries in Africa and Asia, Cornelia E. Davis shares stories and exploits from her life in the field. Connie inspires you to take calculated risks. She reminds you that if you want anything in life to Change, you must make the Choice, to take the Chance.

Live Without Regrets is more than an inspiring memoir. It gives you a chance to:

* Reflect on your life,

* Create your “do-over” list to experience the fulfillment that comes from living your purpose,

* Focus on things and people that increase your sense of worth.

Risking Is Better Than Regretting compels you to look inward and examine your life. It’s not too late for a do-over. No matter where you are in the journey, you don’t have to live with regrets!
This book definitely makes you reassess your life and priorities ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Interesting travel log, not in any order but useful account of travelling to some far flung places. As a solo female it’s always useful to hear similar experiences and gain a greater understanding of the countries culture and acceptance of white female lone travellers. Inaccurate reporting of location of Kilimanjaro which is totally in Tanzania just across border with Kenya, did the writer actually go there? Or just get their mountains mixed up? The author was a medical professional and had briefing on the country prior to travelling which provided a greater knowledge and privilege than a traveller just drifting from place to place. This was an interesting read and although didn’t really have a geographical or timeline connection to the chapters it was easy to read chapters in isolation. Thank you #NetGalley for the copy to review.
