I absolute loved the preview. I'll definitely read the full length novel when it comes out. I loved Taylor from the small glimpse we got, especially her friendship with the other girls. I can't wait to read her love story with Jamar.

This was a fun, short introduction to this second book in the series. I read the first book and loved this author's voice and ability to transport you into the scene. I'm looking forward to reading more of this romance because I'm invested in a way I haven't been in a long time.

Thank you to the publisher, netgalley, and the author for the opportunity to review this preview offering in exchange for an honest review.

I read The Boyfriend Project when it came out last year and did enjoy it quite a bit. I was really excited for Rochon’s second book in the series, The Dating Playbook, but I found myself skimming the chapters of this preview.

The dialogue felt really cheesy and forced, and I didn’t enjoy reading about restrictive diets and exercise. Unfortunately I’ll be skipping the full version of The Dating Playbook despite my initial excitement.

Thank you for the free preview! I love being able to read a few chapters before deciding whether a book is for me.

The Dating Playbook revolves around our main character, Taylor, a fitness trainer plus nutritionist and has been struggling to meet ends financially. In comes our other main character Jamar who is looking for a personal trainer to help him achieve his goals.

The first four chapters were a good introduction to our main and some side characters. We see the struggles that Taylor faces but still nothing about Jamar but seeing that it's only a sampler that's understandable. I do miss having perspectives of both main characters as it gives a more in-depth understanding of the characters.

Overall, a good start and is definitely a book I look forward to finishing.

I am so in love already with this book already! I was surprised by the feelings and emotions reading the first 4 chapters brought out in me.
I felt the the utter disappointment when Taylor loses her job. If ever you’ve lost a job that you were great at over a technicality, you’d understand. Yikes!
You’d think one might be hopeful when a new opportunity presents itself. But like Taylor sometimes you’ve got to brace yourself for the “it’s too good to be true”. And it’s not helpful when your well meaning besties, are trying to tell you what you should do next. I can see where those well meaning words from her inner circle might make her feel stifled . Oh I so identified with Taylor being in the middle of a season of “waiting” and with the pressures of bills accumulating to top it off.
And now, I’m on the edge of my seat “waiting” to find out how things will work out for her both vocationally and of course romantically!!!!

Taylor is going through a rough patch financially, she wants to achieve her goals, but at what cost? Then Jamar Dixon shows up, a previous NFL player, looking for a personal trainer. He might be the answer to all her problems, but will they end up with more than they bargained for?

This preview just made me want to read the whole book! I devoured these first four chapters and cannot wait to get my hands on this one. I love Taylor, Samiah, and London's friendship and live for their supportive relationships in each other's lives. I've only read the first four chapters, but I already have a feeling this one might even be better than The Boyfriend Project, and considering that one is so beloved, I don't think this will be a book to miss out on!

What a fun preview! This was my first read by Farrah Rochon and now I think I need to pick up another. Interesting premise, witty banter, and I love the focus on the friendship group. Really looking forward to release date for this one.

I loved it and can’t wait to read the rest of it. Also why did I do this to myself? Release day is not far right? I can survive. I hope. Lol

I'm not hugely into sports romance, but this sample was so entertaining and surprisingly nuanced in its depiction of the millenial side-job hustle. Taylor is a fitness trainer adjacent to high-powered circles in LA, but her lack of professional credentials keeps her from landing a steadier job than her gig as a personal trainer, which is not at all covering her current bills. When we meet her, she's stressing out over how she'll pay for her fair share of a champagne-soaked lunch with her good friends, the exes of a man they mutually dated. She's recently been arrested in what amounts to "a big misunderstanding" with a prospective employer. She jokes, half-seriously, about having to sleep in her car if things keep going worse. To cover her lunch splurge, Taylor arranges a drop-in fitness class in the park. Even though it seems too good to be true, when a hot guy in that class asks her if she'd consider training him one-on-one, she's more worried about him being a creeper than she is awed by his brief career in the NFL. The idea of a professional athlete choosing a random personal trainer to help them reenter the league requires some suspension of disbelief - but not too much. After all, a guy no longer associated with the NFL probably has to watch his money just as much as the rest of us.

Taylor is a compelling mixture of no-nonsense and kind. She manages to encourage her clients in boot camp while still being tough on the fittest of them. I loved her confidence in herself, while her shame, frustration and panic at her financial situation felt incredibly real. She's the kind of heroine for whom you want a fairytale ending by chapter 4.

Farrah Rochon is back with the follow-up to last summer's The Boyfriend Project and I am HERE for it! I forgot how much I enjoyed the friendship between Samiah, Taylor, and London. This time around, we get to see Taylor's story, and hello NFL football player, I'm in! I cannot wait to get further into this one, I see sparks flying already!

I really enjoyed this sneak peek of The Dating Playbook! I already feel myself identifying with Taylor and am eager to see how Taylor and Jamar’s partnership continues. It was fun to see the character cameos from The Boyfriend Project! I love the sense of sisterhood and support that they created and sustained. Rochon’s writing is witty and relatable. I flew through this chapter sampler and I will absolutely be picking up a copy of this book when it is available! The Dating Playbook releases August 17, 2021. Thank you so much to Farrah Rochon, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and Netgalley for a free sneak peek in exchange for honest feedback.

I need this whole book in my life NOW! Oh wow, I can't wait for the full book. I adored Rochon's first book in this series, but this chapter sampler makes me think that I'll love this second book even more. I know!!! Taylor was maybe my favorite side character in The Boyfriend Project, and I'm so ready for more of her humor, with a hefty side of romance!

I love the entire concept of this book being a sports-related romance because I love sports and I feel like I don't see enough books with that theme. Farrah Rochon's writing style is really enjoyable to me because it's always a fun, quick, and easy read. She is always able to write relatable characters that I gravitate toward.

Taylor is an entrepreneur with a fitness and nutrition business which is such a fun job for the main character. She is independent and someone who wants to make it on her own without help from anyone which is inspiring. Then we have Jamar who used to play in the NFL until he was injured and he's trying to get back into shape to play professional football again which sets up a very interesting character arc. He seems to be a very interesting character to watch grow over time and I'm excited to see how his relationship with Taylor might transform.

I also love that Taylor seems to have such a strong group of friends and I'm excited to see more of those relationships as well because they seem to have a lot more to learn about each other. This sneak peek left me wanting more because I feel like there's so much potential with these characters and plotline and it ended so soon. I will definitely be anxiously awaiting the release date in August.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the chapter preview.

This is my first Farrah Rochon and I don't know how I haven't read anything by her before! So far, I am enjoying the female friendships and the beginning of some chemistry between Jamal and Taylor. I like Rochon's writing style and can't wait to read how the rest of the story develops. While I await publishing day for this one, I will be diving into Rochon's backlist!

The preview of the first 4 chapters was really good. I felt like I got a good sense of where the story was going and the characters who would be featured throughout it. It definitely made me more interested in picking up this book and I'm excited to see how the romance ends up playing out.

I have been looking forward to Taylor's book since reading The Boyfriend Project. The 4 chapter sneak peak has kept my interest. Taylor starts off in a not great place, but I know that she will pull herself out of it. I hope she will learn to ask for help.

I loved the way that Taylor and Jamar started off by getting into an unspoken competition. I look forward to more of that. I also appreciated that Taylor was a professional and kept her less fit clients in mind. And, as an Austin resident, I'm looking forward to seeing how Farrah Rochon makes the city shine.

The Dating Playbook is one of my most anticipated rom-coms of the summer. The Boyfriend Project was an instant favorite for me. I absolutely loved the friend group of Samiah, Taylor, and London, and I’m so excited to read more about Taylor’s life. Listening to Estelle gush about this title at the live GCP/Forever chat this week made me want to wish away the months until this release. Reading a sneak peek did not satiate my appetite for the release AT ALL! It was like getting back together with a group of friends. I can’t wait to see how Taylor’s story plays out this summer.

I have not read The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon but now I have to! The Dating Playbook starts with 3 ladies talking about their lives, goals and projects, which I am all for these days! Taylor takes the front seat for this novel and she's struggling to get her personal trainer business off the ground. I found her extremely relatable as many of us (myself included) have experienced living paycheck to paycheck. In these preview chapters, we see changing POVs with Taylor and her new potential client Jamar "Diesel" Dixon. I am all in for this book so far!
