The Golden Couple kept me guessing. I love this writing duo. This book was filled with twists and I loved the way the authors kept the intrigue going . It's been some time since I gave a book five stars.. I readily gave this book five stars and would recommend to all who enjoy a good mystery.

First off I love the stories they come up with, this one totally occupied my entire Sunday! So many things about this one, all those lies that kept going and pulling everyone one, the therapist who is also a little crazy herself. This story was so amazing, murder lies, love, family and tons of drama. Never saw the ending coming!! This comes out in 2022 and it should definitely be a must read!!! The authors knocked it out of the ballpark with this one! Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review! #THEGOLDENCOUPLE

I've learned to keep an eye out for new releases by the writing duo Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, and their latest book, The Golden Couple, had me hooked from the beginning and flipping pages to see what would happen next.

Marissa and Mathew seem to have the perfect marriage, until they find themselves in need of a marriage counselor. And, not just any marriage counselor; Avery Chambers is such an unconventional therapist, she's lost her license to practice. As it turns out, though, Avery is the one caught on her heels as everything Marissa and Mathew seem to be becomes twisted and personal. Avery finds herself at the center of their web of deception and danger, and the reader wonders who, if anyone, can be trusted.

The story is told from alternating points of view, switching between Marissa and Avery. I really enjoyed living inside Avery's therapist brain as she analyzes everyone she comes across and every event that occurs. Marissa and Mathew are interesting characters, too. Also in the mix are Polly, who works with Marissa, Natalie, who is Mathew's ex, and Chris, Mathew's somewhat estranged father. Throw in the big pharma corporation threatening Avery for whistleblowing, Avery's former clients and spouses, and the memory of Avery's dead husband, and we've got a story going in several directions that of course are all resolved by the end. Don't forget Romeo, Avery's new rescue dog who adds heart to the story.

One of my favorite aspects of this book are the little details that are thrown in: descriptions of Romeo's favorite toy, what Marissa is cooking for dinner, why a character chose the outfit she has on. These everyday details don't detract from the storylines, but instead made me feel like I was part of the story, living these lives with these characters.

Thank you to NetGalley, Ms. Hendricks and Ms. Pekkanen, and publisher St Martin's Press for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. It was my pleasure to be a part of this book's launch! #TheGoldenCoupleBook

Not surprised to say I loved this book. I tore through it because I had to know the outcome! I loved that there were multiple villains and that the twists and turns kept me guessing. The inter weaving connections of the chart was a great touch as well.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this and I have already recommended it to several friends.

If you want to be on the edge of your seat, you need to read this page-turner immediately! I am a huge fan of Greer Hendricks; Sarah Pekkanen and their newest novel, The Golden Couple, was probably my favorite yet. This novel was impossible to put down. From the first page to the last, the story was full of twists and turns, unique characters, and completely unpredictable.

From the powerhouse duo behind An Anonymous Girl, The Wife Between Us and You Are Not Alone, Pekkanen and Hendricks are back with another blockbuster. The narrative is incredibly solid. Pekkanen is a seasoned author and by extension, Hendricks' previous editing experience also makes her a great writer.

Told from Avery and Marissa's points of view, The Golden Couple is layered and complex. Their characters are well-developed, the plot is perfectly paced, and it's completely binge worthy. The only misstep is the subplot—it isn't nearly as compelling and detracts from the original story—there should have been more attention given to the backstory of a young Marissa and Matthew. That being said, there were no loose ends and everything aligned. This team is thorough.

With the theme of trust propelling the narrative, The Golden Couple is gripping and perfectly executed.

"The Golden Couple" by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen had me on the edge of my seat through almost the entire book! The writing in this novel is excellent and probably what you would expect if you've read their other novels. This was my 3rd dance with this dynamic duo and it might be my favorite one yet!
Marissa and Matthew Bishop have come to an unusual marriage "fixer" Avery. She recently lost her therapist license due to her (actually quite) bizarre treatment tactics. She may be an odd choice, but her therapy gets results like no other. Marissa has brought her husband to therapy to tell me she's cheated on him but she wants help getting past her infidelity and wants him to find forgiveness in his heart. Avery accepts the challenge of repairing the Bishops' fractured marriage. Matthew is considerably angered to find out about his wife's betrayal, but he grudgingly agrees to therapy.
Avery has her own demons. I honestly didn't LIKE the characters at ALL but I was compelled to read about their train-wreck lives. As the twists careened me around my own distaste for the main characters, I truly felt for some of the background characters. I needed to know what happened next as the layers of drama unfolded before me.

You won't guess the ending and will be rewarded richly with the ending of this explosive new novel, set to publish in March, 2022. Put it on your TBR right now! Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's press for my ARC.

Wow! This story is fantastic! What great twists of events. This story is written precisely and woven wonderfully. So many unexpected surprises. It’s menacing and captivating. Amidst all the chaos, it leaves you with a beautiful sense of peace.

Overall I would give this book a 3.5 star review. It kept my interest and I enjoyed how the authors told the story from the perspectives of Avery and Marissa. Avery is the therapist hired by Marissa and her husband to help them with their marriage. Avery has a unique approach to how she handles her clients but are Marissa and her husband willing to work with her? And are they her typical clients? There are many twists and turns in this interesting novel and I loved that out kept me guessing until the very end! Thanks to #netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book "The Golden Couple" and all opinions expressed are my own. Another great book by these authors. I could not put this book down and I didn't want it to end. You get pulled in right from the start. Very suspenseful!

A good mystery with a really convoluted plot that kept me guessing.

Unfortunately, I just could not vorm a connection to the characters- I found most of them thorny, difficu.t and unlikable.

That said, I dare you to unravel the mystery before the last page.

Lots and lots of twists, all the way to the last page. But nothing shocking or even too surprising. Towards the end I just wanted to see where this narrative was going, where it would end. Avery served more as a detective, and why on earth was she portrayed as a therapist with zero boundaries? Her own bit about Acelia and all the harassment from the pharmaceutical company was weird and disjointed. Why didn’t she tell her attorney about the encounter in the garage, all the harassment? She supposedly has a relationship spanning decades with this attorney and she has never told her about Acelia? Fishy. I thought she would be revealed to have a delusional disorder but somehow this story thread was left hanging. Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A therapist who’s gone rogue and is now working (unlicensed) to fix serious problems with her patented ten session program takes on new clients in an unhappy married couple.

This book is full of suspense and twists, as one can expect from this writing duo. This is going to be a very popular book once it is released, I could just picture the film or series adaptation as I was reading the novel. This is one to watch out for and scoop up as soon as you can!

A convoluted & cohesive plot; to be sure! I always enjoy the written maze of these two authors. They delve deeply into the characters psyche & pull out the best & worst of all. Every one of the characters reveal both as the story unfolds. Avery, the therapist who has had her license revoked, follows questionable practices in her career & life. Marissa, the most likable character, cheats on her husband & lies. Mathew, the husband who was cheated on, seems affable & loving of his wife. Skip, the best friend, seems like the ultimate shady character. The characters stories are woven together into a shocking tapestry. You are always looking for who & why. Revelations are made until the very end. A delicious treat of a book that is a thrilling read.

I loved this book! It’s a perfect twisty thriller right to the end. Definitely a fun engaging read. I couldn’t put it down. If you enjoyed Gone Girl or Girl on the Train you will also enjoy The Golden Couple. Highly recommend!

I was so thrilled to receive this arc of The Golden Couple by Hendricks and Pekkanen! Some of their titles are among my all-time favorite thrillers, like Anonymous Girl and The Wife Between Us.
I had high expectations starting it and I was NOT disappointed!
The Golden Couple starts off with a secret that’s revealed at the couples first counseling appointment which heated things up fast. I wasn’t sure if THEY would survive, let alone their marriage.
After a few unique sessions with their counselor you realize there is more going on with all of three them, then is revealed. I didn’t know who to trust; husband, wife, or therapist.
This one will keep you reading into the night! Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for the arc!

Sarah and Greer have done it again....just when I think they cannot outdo themselves they come out with a book I just cannot put done. The Golden Couple has it all. Avery is a therapist who has lost her license due to her unconventional methods. In walk Marissa and Matthew for their first appointment. On the face of it all they are "the golden coupon" they have everything until Marissa drops a bombshell at their first appointment. Is this marriage everything it appears to be? Will they be able to fix their issues? How deep into their lives will Avery get? These are all the questions you want answered while reading and you do get them. At one point I really thought I knew what the twist was as there seemed to be a "hint" but nope these ladies are too smart to give away the ending and what an ending it was! This is one book you do not want to miss no matter what.....drop what you are doing and pick up this book now....you won't regret it!!

I'm so thankful for the opportunity.to review the latest book from two of my favorite authors, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. I think I know the twist in their books but it always blindsides me in the end and keeps me surprised until the last page. If you love domestic thrillers, read their books!
