This is a fabulous book, with great recipes and excellent photography. Unfortunately, I felt it was aimed at the American market as all the recipes are based on cup measurements. There us a conversion chart at the end of the book.

A lovely cookbook for anyone who eats or is wanting to transition to a plant-based diet. The recipes are set out well and easy to follow, and the pictures are mouthwatering

While much of this book did not call to me, what I did cook came out well. I liked the pressure cooker twist on pasta alfredo, the nut-free parmesan was a useful trick, and the potato flatbreads came out perfectly.

One of the best vegan cookbooks that I have read this year. The colour photography is stunning and the instructions clear and easy to understand.
The recipes are delicious enough to tempt any home cook, vegan or non-vegan. I particularly enjoyed the sections on breakfast and baked good options.

Five stars! Dreena’s Kind Kitchen is a treat to look through and cook from. It was well laid out and nicely illustrated. The recipes were easy to follow, featuring fairly basic ingredients and techniques even beginner cooks can master. I was not familiar with Dreena Burton before I got this cookbook, but I will definitely be checking out her blog and other cookbooks for more inspiration. Even though I’m not actually vegan, the first few chapters on ingredient substitutes and kitchen strategies were really interesting and have proved to be very useful. (Now go make that Sweet Potato Cake. Trust me… and Dreena.)

Another fantastic cookbook from Dreena! As always, her recipes are easy to follow, feature simple ingredients, and always turn out great. So far, we have made the Lemon Poppyseed Muffins, Kind Queso, Potato-Cauliflower Scramble, and Raspberry Crumble Bars --all were fantastic! Just like her last book Plant-Powered Families, I expect that this cookbook will be one I reach for often.

Although I’m not a Vegan, I am certainly interested in starting to cook more plant based meals and am always on the lookout for new recipes that fit this way of eating.

Dreena’s Kind Kitchen was a really helpful Cookbook in that there were a lot of goodideas and easy to follow recipes. Many of them seemed doable for myself and my family but there were also some that I know I would never try, Beet Burgers being one of them. But having so many new options to consider and start pondering is definitely helpful for me.

The pictures in the book were gorgeous and mouth-watering!

The challenges for me in particular with this book is that there were no nutritional facts available with these recipes. This was very surprising to me as I assumed health forward Cookbooks would include such information for those folks who are clearly focused on health conscience meals. Additionally, some of the items used in the recipes would not be on hand naturally and I would need to prep ahead of time to order some items online. Not a negative per se, but just something to be aware of.

100+ Whole-Foods Vegan Recipes to Enjoy Every Day

Always on the lookout for new vegan recipes, this book caught my eye. I had hopes that the recipes would be basic, have readily available ingredients and nutritional information and calorie counts. Sadly, that was not true for me. That said, this is a beautiful book with recipes that no doubt can be easily made where the ingredients can be found.

What I liked:
* The introduction
* Information about ingredients
* FAQs on ingredient substitution and ways to sauté without oil
* How to wash and store produce
* The author information/history
* Gorgeous photographs
* Familiar foods/recipes
* New recipe ideas
* Tasty looking baked goods – sweet and savory
* Recipe suggestions for picnics, holiday menus and which recipes freeze well
* Bean and Grain cooking time charts
* Metric Conversion information
* Excellent index

What I didn’t like:
* Nutritional information and calorie counts not provided – for someone watching those it would be helpful
* Knowing that some of the ingredients are not available where I live (small village in Lebanon) or would be prohibitively expensive.

Would I read other books by this author? Probably
NOTE: This is a book I can see buying as a gift for a vegan family

This is a beautiful book with many recipes I expect to become family favorites. I liked the book so much that I ordered a hard copy for my cookbook library after reviewing and electronic copy!

Easy to follow recipes. Nice color illustrations. I like the explanations for why certain ingredients were needed and substitutions. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book

Even if you aren’t a vegan, or have plans to become one, this book is extremely helpful. There’s so many useful tips, from how to store fruits and vegetables to bath cooking. The recipes are great. I plan on incorporating many into my family’s diet.

The recipes aren’t complicated though some ingredients may not be easily accessible in every store. I loved all the pictures. They were very vibrant and delicious looking.

It isn't always easy to find delicious vegan meals that are easy to make and sound and look delectable. Ms. Dreena' cookbook exceeded my expectations. Every one of the recipes are photographed that gives you a visual of the finished creation. The photos are beautiful and rich, just looking at them made me want to run to the kitchen and make the recipe right then.

Breakfast, dinner, soups, snacks, and main courses, there are plenty of items to tempt even the most finicky eater into trying the dishes. I am looking forward to trying these recipes and share with vegan and nonvegan family alike.

This cookbook contains 100 vegan recipes. Most are healthy, all are free of animal products I appreciate the variety of recipes and color photos are the food. This is a good choice for those looking for plant based eating. Lots of cooking tips included.

I am not a vegetarian but I do love vegetarian recipes. I'd also in the near future not eat as much meat so this is a great book to add to my collection. There's some great recipes in the book and some even my little one would probably try so that's a win for me.

Another one of Dreena’s cookbooks with so many good plant-based whole-food recipes. I really liked all the pictures of the recipes. I love Dreena’s blog, she has so many good recipes on her blog too.

I am young mother of small children, and I am constantly running out of ideas of healthy meals for my family. This cook book made me feel more equipped to achieve wellness for my family! I would recommend this to any of my friends looking for fun vegan food to feed the family.

I've been excited for Dreena's new cookbook ever since I heard of it's existence! I love her original cookbook, and Dreena's Kind Kitchen is going to be just as beloved I think. There are so many easy, accessible, tasty and nutritious recipes in it's pages that vegans and meat-eaters alike will love. I started to bookmark things that looked good but then realized I was basically bookmarking the whole thing. I'm especially excited to try her new take on the Sweet Potato cake! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this!

Dreena’s Kind kitchen was a good inspiration for vegan cooking.

My favorite thing about the book: The substitutions and explanations. While many recipes contained ingredients I couldn’t find in my small Spanish town (see below) most recipes included helpful substitutions, explanations on why ingredients were important, and additional tips and tricks. This makes is a much more user friendly read for the average cook working with what they have. I wish EVERY cookbook did this.

Our favorite recipes: The Novio loved the A-Game chili. I loved that it got my meat forward partner to eat a veggie packed meal and ask for seconds and thirds. My favorite recipe was what-amole, which taught me some wonderful tips and tricks to make guac a meal and stretch those expensive avocados to feed a crowd. Baby Duck (3yrs old) loved that this cookbook had me cooking a lot of roasted sweet potatoes which they could eat like candy.

What I didn’t love: A lot of these recipes called for ingredients that simply aren’t available in my area. I live in a small ish Spanish town and, while we have several specialty food stores, there were still ingredients I wasn’t able to get my hands on. Could I have ordered them online? Yes. Do I usually plan that far ahead? No. I also found, for my personal taste, that many of the recipes needed about twice the spice, salt, and fat content that they called for. While its easy to double the amount of seasoning, following the recipe often left me feeling a bit ‘this is tasty but needs a little more…’

Who I would recommend this book for: Honestly? The Spanish would probably love a vegan cookbook like this. The Novio and my friends and relatives here often favor blander food. It was a good way to get him to eat more veg. It would also be great for someone in a slightly more cosmopolitan area who would be able to get their hands on ingredients that I simply couldn’t find, like molasses, cashew butter, or date syrup.
