Violet is one of the triplets from a powerful family of witches and she is the magicless one. When she was younger, she fell in love with a shifter wolf named, Lincoln and they planned to run away together, but he left her on the river bank by herself. Fast foward to years later and the two of them meet again. He is an Alpha now and they are both at an age where they need to find a match.
Lincoln never forgot Violet, but he is saving himself for his one true mate, so until he finds her, he isn't settling down. Violet doesn't want to be forced into marriage and doesn't want to settle. So when her grandma comes up with the idea that Lincoln and Violet should fake a bond, she's not sure she wants to be in, but realizes it's the best plan for her.
Lincoln has always been drawn to Vi. He feels like he can't stay away and knows he can't talk about what happened the night he left her alone and broke her heart. He wants her to trust him, but he can't give her what she needs. Violet is in danger of falling all over again, and this time she won't be able to make it out alive.
With the Elders on their backs, the two of them have to be convincing so that Linc can keep his position with the pack. All too soon, it becomes apparent that the two of them have more than just chemistry and they need to admit their feelings once and for all.
I did enjoy this read, it was very light and predictable, but I think that it just wasn't my cup of tea. I don't usually read shifter books, so this was sort of new to me and some of the language was a little off to me but I don't know if that was the book or if that was the norm. If you normally read this type of book, I am sure that you will love this. The connection is real and it did hit me in the feels. 3.5 stars.
Thanks to St. Martin's, April Asher and Netgalley for an early copy.

DNF. I wanted to like this one so much but could not get into it. The plot moves too slow for my liking. Sad I couldn't get through this one...

This book was just okay. I enjoyed it enough to fish's it but likely won't recommend it or remember it for long

Violet is perfectly happy being the twin without magically powers. So much less pressure that way. However, since reconnecting with high school heartbreaker, Alpha Wolf Shifter Lincoln Thorne, she suddenly has magic, and it is out-of-control! No way does she want the council to find out she has powers and force her into an arranged marriage. What is a witch to do but to fake date a werewolf while trying to get a handle on her new powers.

This is a fun and light and I am a sucker for witches who don't think they have magic and then discover they do. Surprise!

Thank you so much to St. Martins Griffin for the e-arc!! This is a second chance romance full of heart and laughs. Any book full of witches and wolves with romance is good for me. This book was so cute, and some parts of it had me literally laughing out loud! I will definitely be recommending to everyone I know. 4*

4.5 Stars (I received an e-arc from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review(

I absolutely loved this book, it was such a throwback to when I was reading nothing but urban fantasy romances. Violet and Lincoln are one of my favourite couples I have read this year and the plot gives off modern court intrigue vibes. Violet is part of a well known family including her two sisters, mother and grandmother. Lincoln comes from a powerful shifter family who is trying hard to change old arcane rules in the shifter community. Previously the two were sweethearts as teenagers but fell apart due to unknown circumstances. Typical fake dating trope but such a well done book paralleling how old and powerful men refuse to progress forward and the young ones are fighting for change for more freedom. I love the family dynamic in the Maxwell family with the grandmother being such a bad bitch. I don’t want to say much about the plot much because it’s more fun that way

Holy Hexing yes! Go and Lincoln are supernatural magic!

I haven’t read a supernatural book in a long time and this hilarious Romcom was just what I needed to remind me of all the amazing things I love I about the supernatural world! There’s angst, surprises, some juicy twists and don’t forget that thin line of hate! Go and Lincoln walk that thin line but when they finally fall off truths will have to be revealed to determine if it’s a life of hate or love between the two!

I hope this is the start of something good because there were so many characters that captured my attention and I honestly wasn’t ready to leave this world! A very enjoyable read!

I usually love paranormal romance novels but this one didn't land for me. It definitely has funny moments and hot sex scenes but it's slow paced and has too much going on.

Violet is a witch without magic who is on the verge of being forced into a marriage she doesn't want. Similarly, Lincoln is a shifter who is the leader of his pack and may be forced to mate with a female if he doesn't want to lose his status in the pack. The two have a history going all the way back to childhood, so they come up with a plan to fake date to give them both time to come up with plans to get out of their situations.

I was bogged down by all the politics of the supernatural world. There was too much red tape and too many characters. I didn't understand all the political and historical stuff about supernatural creatures.

I definitely think other readers of paranormal romance will like this one more, especially those readers who appreciates a lot of word building.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the free advanced copy of this witchy book!

This one had a lot of tropes. Enemies to lovers, second chance romance, fake relationship. But at parts all of it was almost too much for me.

Both characters could be frustrating. There was a lack of communication that wasn’t always there fault, but they were so obviously into each other yet pretended to keep up the charade of fake dating. You just wanted to shake them!

There was A LOT going on in this book with the council and the elders and all different kinds of supernatural, but it was also fun to see all aspects of the community together. It reminded me of Juliette Cross’s Stay a Spell series!

This one is a must read if you love all the tropes listed above!

Thank you for giving me an ARC of this novel!

This book has so many elements that I was super excited for, but unfortunately I had to DNF at around 40%! I struggled connecting with the characters which is something that is really important for me. Also, I felt like some of it was forced and not completely fleshed out. Also, I didn’t enjoy the constant references to cup sizes.

Not the Witch You Wed took one of my favorite tropes and mixed it with one of my favorite genres and gave me a perfectly balanced romance with lots of laughs, a lot of feels, and a decent amount of heat!

I absolutely loved our fmc Violet, her shenanigans had me rolling. I really loved the dynamic and banter between her and Linc as well, and loved them together so much. This was just such a cute read

This was a cute and sweet paranormal romance! It leans more into the rom-com narrative than it does paranormal romance. I found Violet and Lincoln to both be fun characters to follow along with. At times I felt the hijinks involved in their fake dating to be a little much, but overall it was a fun read. The secondary characters, especially the sisters, were highlights of the book, and I hope to see their stories in the future.

A lovely and magical love story showing the difficulties preternatural beings experience on their path to finding true love. A terrific read!

This book was atmospheric and adorable! I loved the silly and yet spooky banter. I have never read this author before but plan to know! Super cute story and characters, easy plot and mysterious as well!

Super cute and fun and perfect for any season or anytime. It was a great break from my psychological thrillers I binge read. This was a new to me author and I will be looking for more titles ASAP!

I love a good paranormal romance and this was no exception. Violet is a magic-less witch from a powerful family who comes face to face with Lincoln, the wolf who broke her heart. A fun second chance romance and I look forward to continuing the series with the rest of the Maxwell sisters.

I love a curvy female lead and there were really good parts of this story, however there was a lot of vernacular and technical words I was unaware if and for which the text itself didn't find a way to subtly explain. This left me confused and overwhelmed at times.

Those who like, and often read, this genre will probably really love this book! It was cute and a fairly light read, which is often exactly what I'm looking for in a romance. It wasn't my cup of tea, but others will certainly enjoy it!

This book is so cute. I wasn't sure about it at first but it just took a bit to get used to all the supernatural lingo. I love that a big reason why they didn't work out when they were younger was that they needed to become their own people. Seeing Violet come into her own with her powers was so much fun.

I'm very excited to get the other books which I assume will be about her sisters.

I received an arc through netgalley.

This was a fun story. There were A LOT of "technical" pieces that left me feeling confused. I could tell the author spent a lot of time developing the story and the background information, but I felt, at times, that I was entering into a world that was introduced in a previous book.

That being said, once I got everything sorted, I really like the plot and felt the main characters had good chemistry!

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.
