Hang on, you are about to experience so many twist and turns. Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Louise Jensen is a new author for me,. I will look forward to reading more from her. The story is told from the point of views of three sisters who were kidnapped. You might think you know what is happening, but then the plot twist again. OMG. This book was amazing. I was shocked, horrified, and enthralled for the entire book. I could not believe the choices that were made by the dad and how that one decision caused so much trauma. I have recommended this title to several people already!

Just like her previous books, the first half drags on and the second half is hard to keep up with. The plot is fine, but overall not my favorite.

I thought this was a great book. The book goes back and forth between the past and present. The book is about 3 sisters, a set of twins and their older half-sister who are kidnapped. There are lots of twists and turns in the book, so it keeps you guessing, and isn't at all what you think in the end. I found this to be an enjoyable read, and I would read other books by the same author.

Wow this is a gripping and emotional story with plenty of surprises. I didn’t get anything else done while reading this as it consumed me.

How does childhood trauma impact the adults we become? What if that trauma is sensationalized and becomes fodder for the nosy public?

The Sinclair Sisters were taken twenty years ago. The book shifts between present and past, but we of course know the girls all survived because they are still around for the present day portions. As we move through the book, we learn more about each of the girls and how their lives continue to be forever changed by the kidnapping. Some characters seem a bit more fully developed than others.

There are definitely many plot twists and attempted surprises to the reader. Unfortunately, many of the "surprises" are somewhat easy to predict. The ending feels a bit rushed overall as if the author did not expect to reach the ending so soon and didn't quite know how to make all of the threads fit smoothly together.

Interesting concept, and many people seem to be more enamored of it than I was. I was really looking forward to reading it and wish I enjoyed it more.

It took me a little while to get into this book.
But once I hit part 2 I was hooked.
There was plot twist after plot twist after plot twist.
I honestly didn’t even try to guess what was going to happen with this book.
Told from multiple perspectives and varying timelines, this book has moments that will put you on the edge of your seat.

Sisters Carly, Leah and Marie are dreading the upcoming 20 year anniversary of their abduction. They have tried their best to forget what happened and move on, but the nightmares never go away. As each sister carries their burden of secrets and guilt, ominous notes begin to appear. Someone is watching them, and some secrets are so big their relationship may not survive when everything is revealed.

Told from past to present, the story is told in multiple POV's. We see what happened to the girls before, during, and after they were taken. With the sisters keeping secrets from each other it was only a matter of time before they were all exposed. Overall I thought this was a good book and will be reading more books from this author.

The plot of the book was such a great page turner. The plot of the book was truly well written. I truly cannot wait to read another wonderful book from this author. This was a truly great book.

Louise Jensen is really a master of twists and turns in stories that at first seem pretty straightforward, so when I saw that she had this new book out, I was definitely in! And I was not disappointed with this one, as usual it was great, twist-filled fun!

Twenty years ago, sisters Carly and (younger twins) Leah and Marie Sinclair are snatched from their yard after school while their parents are away from home. While the girls survive the hellish ordeal, the sisters are never the same again, each growing into adulthood with their own damaged coping mechanisms. As the milestone anniversary approaches, not only are the sisters falling apart, but strange things begin to happen. They receive odd, threatening messages and one of the sisters believes she sees their abductor everywhere. Something is definitely going on in the sleepy village, the question is what and why.

Like I said above, this book is far from predictable, in line with Jensen's previous novels. And the twists in this one are really intense, I certainly couldn't have predicted them. Each one comes at in at just the right pace, not too quick or too forced, but at good clip. They also were very twisty, but at the same time not so over-the-top as to be completely unbelievable in regards to the plot. Like, they didn't necessarily come out of left field with no way of believing that they could possibly be true.

The characters of Leach, Marie and Carly are very well drawn out and thought-provoking. Each is deeply flawed but also a victim, obviously. It's a very complicated situation, as you'll see as you read, so there's many layers to things that are happening and going on. It's not a black-and-white situation. And that's all I can say about that.

Just read it, is all I'm saying. It's really good and if you're a fan of thrillers, you won't regret it. Also, put Louise Jensen on your automatic TBR pile.

Twenty years ago, the Sinclair sisters were taken, prompting almost instant media attention. After they were returned to their parents, they went on to live as normal of lives as possible.

But how does one recover from such a traumatic experience?

Carly still carries the guilt that she never kept her younger sisters safe, Leah consistently fights her OCD, and Marie is spiraling into alcoholism while keeping another secret close to her heart.

A book full of twists and turns, including a surprise that shocked me! Definitely worth the read! I particularly liked how it was told from alternating timelines as well as points of view. Readers were able to truly grasp the full picture of both past and present events!

The first part of this book seems like a typical mystery, it moves between current times and the past with the three sisters narrating different chapters. These girls have been through a lot and in the current time they are trying to deal with the upcoming anniversary of their kidnapping. The second part of this book throws a wrench in everything you think is going on in the first half of the book. It kept this story alive and interesting and how things aren't always as they seem. Definitely add this one to your TBR list.

This book is so emotional, so heart-tugging at places and so sad at times. The thought that three sisters could be kidnapped and all of their lives be affected forever was bad enough, but the plot behind the kidnapping (a surprise that I won’t reveal) was beyond sad. I cannot say that I enjoyed the characters because they were all so flawed. Carly cannot form relationships because she can’t trust anyone and still blames herself for not keeping the twins safe; Leah is terrified of dirt and germs; and Marie is addicted to drugs and is in denial about her part in the kidnapping plot. The beginning was a little slow, but I did like the way the author presented both time frames, what is current reality and what happened to them in the past. The kidnappers were absolutely reprehensible without any redeeming qualities, so of course, it’s no surprise that they were not likable. I was a little puzzled about George, Leah’s husband, about whether I liked him or not. In fact, when the book ended, I was still on the fence about him. Leah and George do have an adorable toddler named Archie who became a central focus later in the book so was developed, but later than the other characters. The plot had some really unexpected twists in in and the book definitely earned its place in the genre of psychological suspense.

Unfortunately, I have tried reading this book on 2 separate occasions and during this 2nd attempt, I have
decided to stop reading this book
and state that this book just wasn't for me.

Carly, age 13, is watching her twin sisters, Leah and Marie, age 8. Aggravated that a boyfriend has not texted her, she is short with her sisters when the dog gets loose. They decide to go out front and find him. But all 3 girls are quickly abducted by men wearing masks and thrown in a van. Next they are taken to an abandoned building and locked inside.

20 years later, the Sinclair sisters are all damaged in some way from their ordeal. Carly and Marie are both single but Leah is married to George and mother to Archie.

The story switches back and forth from the time the girls are fighting to escape from their abductors to the present time where they are struggling to carry on with their lives.

This book is very dark, sad and spinetingling. The bravery of the sisters compared to other family members broke my heart. Read it and be thankful if you have a loving family.

his is an extremely exciting psychological thriller. Three young girls are kidnapped and years later they are all still dealing with the ramifications of what happened as new and more shocking details of the case continue to be revealed. If you like a book full of surprises, you will definitely enjoy this one. It is like a speeding train starting out slow, then quickly gaining momentum and speed in the way that the book begins at an extremely slow kind of boring pace but before you know it the pace picks up and shocking twist after shocking twist is quickly revealed. Every time you think, there could not be a more surprising twist to the story another even more incredible bit of information is revealed. It will shock you, it will horrify you, but you won't be able to put it down.

It's really hard to put a finger on exactly what makes this book so good. It's full of tension, emotions, shocks and surprises and generally a straight forward thriller.....kind of.
Three sisters are abducted together. The elder is 13, the twins 8. The story is told in two timelines, the time of the abduction and twenty years later as the abduction's anniversary draws near. Each of the sisters, Carly, Leah and Marie, plus Leah's husband, George, alternate chapters to tell their side of the story, or the side they want you to see. The sisters all suffer psychological problems from the abduction and the secrets they keep.
Don't try to figure out "who done it". Louise Jensen has done an excellent job of scattering a few clues but some of them are very well hidden. This book is one I'll be telling my friends and family to read so we can share the story. It's very, very good.
