I have not read the first book in the series but will now!! Gus Young is a pyschiatrist with a past (which I assume the first book explains), and gets involved with a bloodied and disoriented women who is found wondering close to the town he lives. As he tries to uncover the truth all is not what it seems. A brillitant book from start to finish would totally recommend.

I found this book interesting and thought provoking. Is was great to see the diagnosis and what that meant for a caring doctor. The ending was a shock though. A good read.

I liked the premise of this book. When Sarah is found injured and disorientated, Gus Young agrees to take her on as a patient.

It appears she might have escaped from a local cult and when she returns, they believe Sarah is their prophet. However, all is not as it seems .

The book was well plotted and well written. However it just didn’t have that spark for me. The characters didn’t jump from the page and I didn’t have that urge to keep reading.

Thanks indeed to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

First up: this is the 2nd book in a series but you do not need to have read book #1 to follow this story.

Gus is a psychiatrist practicing in a small Maine town when he's called to the ER to consult with a new patient. She is bloodied and has no memory of what led to her injuries, or of anything that occurred prior to arriving at the hospital. Gus knows something unusual has taken place and his instincts lead him down an investigative path straight to a local religious compound.

I enjoyed the guessing game as I read trying to figure out the answers before they were revealed in the text. This was a nice, quick-paced read for me and I enjoyed the dynamics between the characters and the twisty plot.

Gus Young, psychiatrist in a small town in Main, gets called to the hospital, a young woman was found in the outskirts of town, bloodied and no memories. An intriguing case, and if she gets send to the big town (Bangor) she most definitely will be medicated which Gus doesn’t think she needs. He takes her case, while working with her and certain events that take place, he discovered her name is Sara, and she just escaped from a cult, but not all is as it seems, people start believing her to be a prophet and somehow knowing their secrets and doing miracles, the race is on to save those he loves and the innocent bystanders.
This is the 2nd book in the series, because I didn’t read the first one it was a bit harder to get into the story at start, but once I connected the dots it was a race to keep the pages turning.
Thank you to Severn River Publishing and NetGalley for an early read in exchange of my opinion.

This Kindle book was sent to me by Netgalley for review. It is character driven with intrigue and mystery. This was not a favorite for me, but others may enjoy 5e book more…

Thank you Netgalley and Severn River Publishing for allowing me to read this arc. This was a great story-it really kept me reading to see what was going on. It was a little weird that the way the story went echoed something that actually happened where I live though
The characters were good and I'm anxious to read the first book in the series (that I already have)! I look forward to continuing to read this series.
