This book delivered on the promise from that long ago novella! Thank you Liz Alden! Marcella and Seb were first introduced in a novella earlier this year and I've been so heart broken for them this entire time until finally reading how they come back together. Marcella is the new Chef on a luxury yacht in the Mediterranean and Seb is a deckhand on the same yacht. After a brief fling months earlier that ended with Marcella gettin fired they find themselves forced together again and the sparks fly from misunderstandings and lust to real feelings and love. This story was both sweet and steamy and it gave me so much hope for whatever Liz could possible write next.

As usual, there was a lot of boating stuff which, as usual completely worked. I haven't the slightest clue about boating but i loved all of in the book. I can get a feel for what is happening and where they are. The story was so easy to read and yet it gave me that perfect emotional hangover when it ended because as usual, i wanted more. the HEA was perfect though and i hope we get to see more of Marcella and. Dev in future books!

Marcella is great under pressure, she works well with others, is at the top of her field and all around the kind of woman i want to be best friends with and look up to. Seb is the hottest guy in every room who only has eyes for Marce. He is that perfect alpha-cinnamon roll combination.

I'll update this review if I can put words to all the love i have for this book. For now though, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves an HEA.

The Second Chance in the Mediterranean is the third book in the Love and Wanderlust series and follows the second chance encounter between Marcella and Seb. Marcella's time on the Eik is over, and she is starting a new job on the Themis yacht in Montenegro. She doesn't expect to run into Seb again, especially after their first time around resulted in her losing her job. Will she be able to stay focused on her new head chef position, or will the forced proximity make staying away from (and keeping her hands off of) Seb impossible?

I picked up my ARC of The Second Chance in the Mediterranean at the end of a very stressful weekend, and it was the perfect book for a brief mental vacation. After previously being introduced to Marcella in The Hitchhiker in Panama, I was interested in reading what was next for her, and it was yet another great adventure. Once again, love and wanderlust perfectly describes the plot; the reader will be immediately swept away by the setting of the book. The second chance romance between Marcella and Seb is just a lot of fun to read, with a wide range of emotions between the two and a whole lot of tension. And the supporting characters will leave the reader interested in more upcoming novels. I would recommend The Second Chance in the Mediterranean for anyone looking for a great summer or vacation romance book.

Now I just need to pick up a copy of The Sailor in Polynesia!

Thanks to Netgalley and Liz Alden for this ARC; this is my honest and voluntary review.

First of all I’d like to say a huge thank you to Liz and
@netgalley for the ARC.

I think I’ve made my love of book boyfriends pretty
clear with my extensive list of favourites that I regularly
swoon over on Instagram. Seb shot to the top of that
list the first time his name was mentioned!

The story is told in first person POV of the female lead
Marcella, and the chemistry you feel when she spots
Seb leaps from the page. It’s obvious there’s a history
between the two (if the title wasn’t enough of a give
away) and you get a glimpse at why Marcella is
reluctant to see Seb.

As the story progresses you really get a feel for what
it’s like to work on a Super Yacht and man alive, do I
want to get me one of those!

There wasn’t a single thing in this book that I didn’t
like but plenty that I loved!

✨Side characters - loved them all (and although there
was just a tiny bit of him in this story, I need more
Alex!)
✨The owner of the super yacht was a married couple
where the husband was a stay at home dad and the
wife was a badass tech mogul!
✨How multicultural this book is, there is so much
representation in this book with all characters.

I really wish I could go back and read this for the first
time all over again because it was just amazing! I can’t
wait to read more of Liz’s work!

It’s not a huge surprise considering I adored the first two books in this series + the prequel, but I binge read this book from start to finish without putting it down. I was intrigued by Marcella and Seb after reading The Night In Lover’s Bay, and even more so after getting to know Marcella more in The Hitchhiker in Panama & The Sailor in Polynesia, and this absolutely did not disappoint.

The chemistry between Marcella and Seb was so electric every time they were together. I’m not normally a big fan of second chance romances, but I could just feel their connection as I read and it made me want to keep reading. Every moment between them was the perfect mix of sweet and sexy.

The Second Chance in the Mediterranean really felt like a stand-alone novel. And I know that it was written that way, but because this took place in a different location and with a totally different crew than the last two books, I feel like there wouldn’t be an issue at all reading this book if you haven’t read the others. However, as someone who enjoyed the other books so much, I just personally would have liked more mentions of them - especially Mia; I know she wasn’t part of the Eik crew with Marcella but I loved her character in The Sailor in Polynesia & was disappointed to only see her name mentioned once.

Speaking of the crew - I really liked the new crew that was introduced in this book. Themis sounds like an incredible superyacht, and the larger crew onboard was so diverse and seeing their interactions with each other, and Marcella and Seb, was really fun. I’m really glad that I read this book. Seb’s adoration for Marcella made me swoon, and I loved the support that Marcella got from both Seb and the crew as she began to open up to the possibilities she had with work and relationships.

Thank you to Liz Alden & NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book!
