This was such the perfect second chance summer romance! I truly fell in love with Summer and Graison’s love. I love the first half of the book that really builds their romance up. The second half felt rushed considering the build up from the first half and everything happened so quickly at the end but I’m glad they got their HEA. Such a cute and easy beach read.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this book and author. My first time reading this authors work.
This is a second chance romance book that will pull you in from the beginning. A real estate agent comes back to sell her grandmothers home and the memories there and the friends she reconnects with makes her question if New York is really where she belongs. On the first night in town she sees her high school boyfriend. Can the two put aside the circumstances that pulled them apart and will they get a second chance?

Second chance romance are on my list of my top five favourite topics. So when I read the synopsis, and saw the fun cover I though this book would be right up my street.

We meet Summer Murdock she is a real estate agent living in New York who has to come back to her old hometown of Havila Springs to sell her Grandmother house after she passes away. She intends to get there and back to New York as fast as possible, but fate and old friends have other ideas. Graison Wells was her first love and after loosing her virginity to him one night, he breaks up with her and never looks back. So when both are invited to a beach party by a mutual friend they are both shocked to see each other again after so long. And all these old feelings he has for her come flooding back.

I really enjoyed this book, all the characters are very likeable and I was routing for the pair. I finished it in one sitting and makes the perfect beach or garden read.

RETURN TO SUMMER
Author: Krista Harper
Score: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Recommended Age: +18
English level: B1-B2

Return to Summer tells us the story of Summer who after 11 years returns to Havila Springs as her grandmother passed away and she has to sell her house and fix it. Summer lives in NY but when she returns to the place that made her happy but sad, she wants to leave as soon as possible.
On the other hand we have Summer's 18-year-old love Graison and when he sees her again, his feelings for her emerge again.
It is a perfect book for this summer !!!
It is narrated by Summer and Graison and I loved being able to see both perspectives of history as well as being able to know Havila Springs a very deserted place but the people are very unique.
It is the first book I read by the author but I am not disappointed at all, I would have liked the end not to be resolved so quickly and in a different way but in general I loved it.
And the heat between Summer and Graison was so grea and I love when they are together!!!
This book have:
🌵Second chance cliche
🌵 Cheeky East Coast Heroine
🌵 Restorative Sexy Love Interest
🌵 Desert Background
🌵 Enemies to lovers
🌵Happily ever after guaranteed

Return to Summer is a very light read full of fun, drama, and romance and you will happily read it all in one sitting. The plot moves quickly, which isn't something I see often in light romance novels, as authors tend to dally around until the steam happens, but Harper really pulls you into the story from the start. So much fun!

4/5 Stars!

arc provided by netgalley!
this book was a quick easy read but it was so cute! i really liked how the second chance lovers trope was used in the story. the settings were also really nice, i loved how the it took place in a desert town, its really different than the usual places story take place in. the smut was also pretty good!! and graison is a single dad which is just INCREDIBLE. the only trope i didn’t really like was the misunderstanding trope which was the reason they broke up in the first place.
overall this is a cute easy romcom!!

Return to Summer is a cute second chance romance featuring Summer and Graison, who meet up again after 12 years of not seeing each other. Though predictable, this was a happy and short read, which left me smiling by the time I got to the end. I do love a happy ever after!

Rating: 3/5

I couldn’t put this book down. It was addicting and a page-turner! I finished this in one sitting, and I have no regrets whatsoever.

Summer Murdock is a successful New York real estate agent. When her grandmother passed away, she got put in charge of listing the house. The thing she’s not looking forward to? Going back to Havila where there’s bad memories and estranged relationships. On this trip, she’s hoping to not see anyone from her past, especially Graison Wells: the man who broke her heart.

I honestly enjoyed this read. I couldn’t put it down because I needed to know what was going to happen and uncover the secrets that characters were keeping. However, I was getting tired of reading repeated events. It just felt like history was repeating itself which was a bit frustrating. Other than that, I thought this was a good, fast paced, romance read that did keep me interested with every page.

QOTD: How was your weekend?
My A: BUSY. We drove 4hrs round trip for a baby shower and then drove another 2hrs the next day to pick up our new kitten. Where’s a four day weekend when you really need one?!
.
This was my first Krista Harper novel and I finished it in one sitting while snuggling my new guy this afternoon! With a fast paced plot and easily likeable characters, it’s not hard to get sucked into this one. A little second chance romance and a whole lotta chemistry between Graison and Summer keeps you on your toes without being too crazy in the angst department. I will say things starting to feel a little too fast paced towards the end. This is one of those books where things wrap up almost too well. I would’ve loved to see the lead up to the romance drag on a little longer, let the characters yearn a little, you know? I also wish we’d gotten more of Kerrie and Graison’s parents! I think his story could’ve been a great one if the plot had been flushed out and dragged out a little further.
.
This is a great book if you’re looking for something to read poolside or in the afternoon relaxing. A quick read, sweet plot and HAE, what more can you really ask for in a romance?

Big city girl has to return to the small town Havila which is filled with memories and people she wanted to forget. What she thought would just be a quick 2 day visit to organise selling her recently passed grandmothers house ends up being a lot more. With the excuse that the house needed more work and the recent reconciliation with her childhood best friend she takes a well overdue break from work. Running into her first real love stirs up lots of trouble especially now he has a daughter, can they overcome the past, can they work living right across the country? I found this a great read and loved seeing them work through their seemingly difficult lives.

Return to Summer is a feel good second chance love story of Summer and Graison who were high school sweethearts in a small desert town. Graison abruptly ended things right before college. He remained in town and Summer moved away to a large city. A death in the family brings her back to town over a decade later. Why did Graison end things? Is there a future for them? The plot was predictable but I enjoyed it enough to keep reading. Perfect quick summer/beach read with some steamy parts.

After her grandmother passes away, Summer has to return to the town she spent her senior year to sell her grandmother's house. She doesn't expect her past, in the form of Graison, to catch up with her the day she arrives though.

I really enjoyed the first half of the book where Summer is rediscovering Havila Springs with fresh eyes. I loved the descriptions of the town and the way it forced Summer to reevaluate her own life. In the second half, the relationship between Graison and Summer felt a little rushed, but overall I really enjoyed this novel.

This is a short sweet read. Two lovers find each other again in the desert. A hot shot realtor from New York discovers she still sizzles for her high school boyfriend. Misunderstandings still longer, but a small community is ready to embrace one of its own again. It’s a quick read and I liked all the characters. I loved the desert setting and the ending was great. I recommend it for a beach read.
