This is SO cute and laugh out loud funny! Playing off the hilarity of our pets and the tricky fun of D&D, this book features a collection of gut-busting discussions from the table of our pets and their DM.

An incredibly goofy but 100% accurate depiction of what cats, dogs, and many other manner of pets would be like in a Dungeons and Dragons game.

If you love your pets and you know what D&D stands for, you are in for an uproarious read with the fully illustrated Campaigns & Companions.

“GM: The sorceress carefully places the glowing bottle on the workbench next to her. ‘Take heed, brave adventurers,’ she intones, ‘for contained within this delicate vile is enough power to destroy Hafgan’s entire necropolis. If a single drop fell upon the ground it would surely—
Cat: I knock the bottle off the table.”

I think the best way to tell you how funny this book is to quote from it extensively. But, I will restrain myself because then you will miss the chance to read them within this delightful book. Okay, just one more quote for dog lovers.

“GM: ‘The dart flies through the air and—‘
Dog: ‘I run after the dart and bring it back!’
GM: ‘What? You can’t! It’s stuck in the bum of the orc it hit.’
Dog: ‘I jump up at the orc, excitedly.’
GM: ‘Roll Wisdom.’
Dog: ‘Ah… I got a 4…’
GM: ‘The orc removes the dart and throws it—‘
Dog: ‘I run after the dart.’
GM: ‘—into a chasm.’

In addition to the nerd humor, I just have to comment on the excellent illustrations. They really up the enjoyment of this most highly recommended book. Campaigns & Companions would make a perfect gift for the pet-loving nerd in your life. 5 stars and a favorite!

Thanks to Rebellion and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

A very funny--if sometimes slightly repetitive--book about what your pets' D&D characters would probably be like if they could talk. The art is downright stunning in addition to setting up perfect sight gags. As a lifelong tabletop RPG player who's had both dogs and cats in their lifetime, this was just a fantastic book for me. Highly recommended for personal collections, and there's probably a place on the shelves for this one in most public libraries as well. A real pleasure to read.

[2.5 stars]

A very cute book, but not something I see doing well in my library. The illustrations are gorgeous, I wish that this was storyboarded as more of a graphic novel rather than small excerpts with images after. It would work well as a short pet-centric d&d story.

I think fans of tabletop rpgs will find this charming but it's not something they would drop a lot of money to own a copy of.

Light, slight, and mildly amusing. It's essentially the same joke (in a D&D scenario, an animal behaves stereotypically) repeated over and over. The illustrations are fun and well executed, but usually a depiction of the joke you've just read.

I just recently started playing DnD for the first time and I honestly wish we had this book handy for ideas when I first started playing. It is exactly what you would imagine, with amazing illustrations and some hilarious ideas. I really want this book in hard copy.

Although the title is misleading in that it is not a guide so much as a series of vignettes, Andi Ewington and Rhianna Pratchett along with Calum Alexander Watt and Alex de Campi provide the reader snapshots of what going on a D&D campaign would be like with your pets as characters. There is the cat who clears out the treasure chest just so he/she can sit in the empty box. There is the cat casting a fireball which the dog then goes chasing. There is tales of daring along with plenty of "say what?" moments on the part of the GM. And these snapshots are very nicely illustrated so that the reader can see the characters and monsters in action! A fun read to relax with and consider the absurdity of the fun we have role-playing games! If you like humor and like D&D, you will likely enjoy this title!

Thanks Netgalley for the chance to read this title!

Aimed square at the loo book/impulse checkout purchase/stocking filler market, this is a series of glimpses, in dialogue plus illustration, of pets playing D&D. You know - dogs who can't resist chasing the fireball the cat wizard just threw, stuff like that. It's very much not the best spoof of fantasy tropes you'll ever read from a Pratchett, but there's certainly enough of a geek/animal-lover crossover market who should be tickled by it all the same. Purely for my own tastes, I found the less anthropomorphic pictures of the animals most charming, meaning my favourite was unquestionably the cat who, having found a treasure chest, just chucks all the gold out so as to sit in it.

This book was a delight!
As a big fan of Dungeons and Dragons, I would love to suggest this to bards and players alike for some quality humour! The illustrations are also adorable and add to the character of the book.
It is also relatable for people who are familiar with the fantasy genre in general, though it is definitely geared towards TTRPG players.

This book is absolutely adorable! It was labeled as a graphic novel so I was expecting a comic, but this is more like a picture book. The art is so cute. Seeing the pets dressed up in the different role playing classes was too adorable to miss. I would love to frame half of this book just to hang on my wall. The stories are just brief encounters you would normally find in a role playing game, but with an added pet twist. I don't want to give anything away because I came into this book not knowing what to expect and that was half the fun. It was the perfect amount of silliness. I can't wait to get my hands on this book.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Do you love Dungeons and Dragons? Have you ever wondered what it would be like for your pets to play? This wonderful graphic novel tells and shows us what that would be like for an array of pets.

What a fun quick read this was, this is exactly the type of shenanigans our pets would get into if they were to roll the dice. The illustrations only add to the fun of this book, dressing pets in appropriate adventuring attire and facing foes that make the most advanced adventures quake in their boots. I highly recommend this for all adventures, or even those just looking to dip their toe into what Dungeons and Dragons is all about, for any age.

With a cover that perfectly evokes the Dungeons & Dragons campaign books, “Campaigns & Companions” by Andi Ewington & Rihanna Pratchett is a series of short illustrated jokes of pets playing a D&D-esque game whilst being prone to all the foibles and quirks which will instantly resonate with pet owners. The illustrations by Calum Alexander Witt are colourful, funny and perceptive.
Among these pages you will find out why nobody wants the Spider to join the party, all cats are the same when faced with an empty treasure chest and the only thing worth doing with Trolls.
This book is perfect for pet owners and RPG fans. Or both! I don’t think a knowledge of D&D is necessary as the situations speak for themselves. Some of the jokes are funnier than others - my favourite joke was when Kitten sits in for Cat - but on the whole this book is cute and quirky.

Thanks to Rebellion & NetGalley for allowing me to view the ARC of this title.

First, thanks Rebellion Publishing, Andi Ewington, Rhianna Pratchett, and Netgalley for this ARC.

This graphic novel is generally funny to any gamer who loves animals, especially those who have cats or dogs, and some of the art is adorable.

However, when I saw the part involving the dog using a guinea pig as a weapon, I cringed, so I had to remove one star. That was a clumsy joke, but still, I recommend this book to anyone who wants a light, quick read.

I was able to read an arc of this book, but sadly (but I understand) there are a watermarks in the middle of every page, which makes it hard to properly read the text at some times.
The illustrations are great, they're very detailed and bring the jokes onto another level. The art almost works better than the text itself; thats how fantastically the pets are transported into the D&D setting. I enjoyed it very much, it's super cute and funny and worth a look for everyone, who loves D&D and their pets. It would also make a great gift in my opinion.
