An interesting read when I was freelancing, however much of the content in these books is all very similar.

Brand Yourself by Lucy Werner and Hadrien Châtelet is an essential guide for any business owner looking to create a strong brand on a budget. The book covers everything from brand strategy to personal branding and is filled with practical exercises, examples, and industry hacks.

Werner and Châtelet have over 30 years of industry experience, and they bring that expertise to this book. They walk readers through every step of the branding process, from identifying their target audience to choosing the right fonts and colours.

One of the standout features of Brand Yourself is the extensive online playbook that accompanies the book. This resource provides even more tips and tools to help readers build their brand and make a lasting impact.

What sets Brand Yourself apart from other branding books is its focus on affordability. The authors understand that not every business owner has a large budget for branding, and they provide creative tips for making a big impact without breaking the bank.

The book is easy to read, full of practical advice, and supported by a wealth of online resources. Whether you're just starting out or looking to revamp your existing brand, this book is an invaluable resource.

A really comprehensive guide to branding. I found this book sensibly and clearly set out and liked the practical nature of the structure with bullet points and step by step guides, things to consider, and exercises to work through.

I took away some useful tips but a lot of the content were things I new/read before/seen spoken about before. I enjoyed the narration and tone of the book! I follow the authors on Instagram so it was a nice extension of that content. Worth a read if you’re in marketing or want to start a business/rebrand.

‘Brand Yourself’ by Lucy Werner, Publicity expert and founder of The Wern and Hadrien Chatelet, creative director, kind of does ‘exactly what it says on the tin’😀. It’s a really practical and useful little book aimed at startup businesses at the early stages.

There’s how to compile your brand strategy, building your brand (including my fave - mood boards😍), your personal brand and oodles of budget ways to promote and get your brand noticed.

I haven’t met Lucy, but I felt the warmth of the authors through the book. Let’s face it, business can be scary 😳and this book sort of feels like a hand-hold. A friendly, useful and fun approach to branding your business that, let’s face it, is needed in amongst some of the stuffy and rather serious books in this field.

Great book for people that want to know more about branding a business. I'm in a business class right now and all this stuff went over my head, this book definitely helped me understand everything.

This book was INCREDIBLY helpful to me as a beginning graphic designer. I specialize in logo work and although my creative, artistic brain can often get me started, I often struggle to put my ideas in fresh, innovative ways to help a brand come to life. I love how structured this book was and it is incredibly easy to understand. A must-read for anyone starting off in branding!

This truly is a toolkit that offers extremely practical and valuable guidance. I found Brand Yourself to be an extremely generous and comprehensive guide. As a person who is always considering starting a brand (who isn’t these days) I found this to be a one stop shop and I took COPIOUS notes as I worked my way through.

The book is broken into 5 main sections:
- How to compile your brand strategy - what is branding and how do you harness it?
- How to build your brand toolkit - the practical pieces like mood board, logo, fonts, etc.
- Personal brand - how to think of yourself like a micro publication
- Low budget for big impact - who wouldn’t find value in this!
- How to brief your brand - how to work with partners and when

Overall, I found this incredibly useful. I enjoyed the examples used, the hacks, and the highlights of the professionals in the branding space. I would encourage anyone thinking about building a brand to pick up this book!

A practical book, with introductory tips for people setting up a business. The beauty of branding, though, is that you can use it toward branding yourself (as silly as that sounds) and branding individual product lines. I recommend this book for those who want to know the basics around branding and promotion!

Starting a business? Start with this book because it explains exactly how to build you company's brand from scratch including colors, fonts, logos, vision, mission, purpose, etc. It is important to do this right from the beginning of your startup journey. Cherry on top is your personal brand. When you are a CEO of your startup, your personal brand is closely connected to your company's brand. You will find out how to work on it too.
