This rom com was so sweet, and I'm always a sucker for any plotline that also includes a book! I was very invested in this story.

First by this author and I really enjoyed it. Such a light, fun read and just what I needed to pull me from a funk! I love books set in NYC - I’ve never been so it intrigues me to travel! I’m usually an open door girly so this closed door romance was a sweet surprise, slow burn. Thanks so much for my early reader copy

"I’ll go anywhere,” he says, and kisses me again. “So long as you go with me."

I think that I will read anything that has to do with the publishing world. With that being said Lanie just really got on my nerves. I think that I had a hard time really connecting with her character as I didnt find her quirky, but rather quite abrasive and rude. I really liked Noah and wish we had seen more from him to sort of balance the two characters out. Overall I am not sure if I was the perfect reader for this story in particular as I could tell when parts were supposed to be funny, but to me I was a bit indifferent. I do think that this is a case of wrong book for wrong reader though, so I definitely plan on trying this author again.

Lauren Kate presents readers with a promising premise and the allure of a world-renowned romance writer. While the novel captures the essence of love's unpredictability, it ultimately fell short for me due to rushed pacing and some confusing minor plot lines. However, anyone looking for a quick, light, and entertaining read may enjoy this novel!

One of my favorite romance reads of 2022! Lauren Kate writes beautiful characters with endearing personalities.

I really enjoyed this book. This was the first book I have read by this author. I will look for other books by her. This was a sweet, romance book that also was some banter! I would definitely recommend this book!

By Any Other Name is a cute, somewhat insubstantial closed-door romance about a romance novel editor and her star author - who's not at all what she expected. I enjoyed the development of Lanie and Noah's romance through their adventures around New York City and through the language of romance novels, and the love of the genre as well as the setting both really shine through. But I found the writing sometimes a little too cheesy for my taste, and I wish, too, that the side characters had been a little better developed - Lanie's starting relationship, an engagement to the pretty terrible Ryan, for example, felt so obviously Bad with a capital B, and once they finally split up, Lanie moves on soooo fast. I didn't love Lanie as a character and thought we didn't get to know Noah very well for the love interest, but for the most part I found this story easy and enjoyable enough, if ultimately a bit forgettable.

I love a good editor/book world story in romance and this one was fun, witty, and sexy. A solid read for romance lovers!

I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did. This was such a cute rom-com. The story line was interesting and Laney is truly delightful. Happy tears all over

I cannot believe I waited over a year to read this book (though, I will admit it was partially because I don’t love the cover).

The plot was outlandishly unrealistic while being just real enough to captivate and entertain me. Almost nothing that happened in this book is real life, but it was so wildly entertaining and fun that I didn’t mind. Even though I could fully see what was coming, I loved getting there. I would watch this movie (probably a few times).

I would recommend this to fans of Emily Henry or avid romcom viewers (p sure that venn diagram is a circle).

4 stars.

Such a cute friends to lovers story. I am not normally big on friends-to-lovers, but this book convinced me. I just loved the slow burn between Lanie and Noah. This was the exact book I needed at the moment: a slow burn that gave me all the feels.

This was SO fun. I tore through it in a day. I love a case of mistaken identity (if that's what you'd call this) and their love story was so sweet.

Enjoyed this book way more than what I was expecting! Such a fun, refreshing read!

This novel was soooo adorable! I read this quickly and fell into it right immediately. Laine has a tragic love streak. Author Noa/Noah specializes in romantic fiction. BD (Lanies grandmother) frequently causes me to guffaw aloud. This is the rom-com I've always desired. This book brings joy to my spirit.

The story follows the lives of Lanie Bloom, a romance editor, and Noa Callaway, the famous author she has always admired. When Lanie is given the opportunity to work with Noa, she jumps at the chance. However, she soon realizes that Noa is not who she seems to be.
Lanie is a strong and independent woman who is not afraid to go after what she wants. Noa is a mysterious and enigmatic man who is always one step ahead of everyone. Their relationship is complex and unpredictable, and Lanie is never sure what to expect from Noa.
The plot of By Any Other Name is well-paced and engaging. The reader is kept guessing until the very end, and the book is full of twists and turns. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the chemistry between Lanie and Noa is undeniable.
Overall, By Any Other Name is a great read for anyone looking for a fun and romantic story. It is a great choice for fans of romance novels and anyone who loves a good love story.

This was a fun, sweet and joyful reading experience. I usually don't get along with a lot of rom-coms but this surprisingly easy to love. Thank you to Netgalley for early access in exchange for a honest review.

i normally do not tend to reach for a lot of rom-coms because i am not one to enjoy over-the-top confectionery sugar romance. i do however like the editor who falls in love tropes! i just find that world fascinating. i am so glad i took a chance on this book because i really enjoyed it! i just wish the romance would have been a bit more fast-paced.

Such a cute book! I loved the premise. I shared about it extensively on social media, including in a monthly round up and yearly round up of my favorite romance novels of 2022.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of “by any other name.” All opinions are my own.

Firstly, I love a book about books and publishing and the behind the scenes of the creation of good books.

Honestly can’t believe Im saying this but I wish this book had been a little longer!! We needed more time to watch Noah and Lanie together. There wasn’t enough romance between them to be honest. The editorial and book chapter were so so good…. but I needed a bigger declaration in person from Noah though! He could’ve emphasized more that he’d had a crush on her for years as they were internet pen pals and that he was nervous to meet her that first day etc etc.

P.S. please I beg the author to actually write that 2000 picnics book as a novella or something. That final chapter had me in tears.

Such a fun, sweet read! I loved the writing and the characters were great! I usually love when books include book or writing themes in the story and this one was no exception!

This was very enjoyable. The concept was a lot of fun and inspired a really great story and relationship. Extremely predictable, but still very sweet.
