The book is mainly what the title suggests. I liked the approach of the author. The structure by chapters is very easy and the author uses some common terms to explain the basics of how to reach a better version of oneself when exposed to needle phobia. For sure each of the topics he discusses can be richly studied and researched. However, the book was a nice read for me and I can recommend it to some of my patients. I enjoyed that we have at the end of each chapter some references.
It is a nice start if you want to change the way you act and the bad habits or bad thoughts you have about yourself or about life and those surrounding you when exposed to needle phobia. It is useful for the therapists that just start their work with patients since it can help them a lot for the part of psychoeducation that they present during the therapy. The techniques presented are encountered a lot in CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) and are used not only in needle phobias. Many of these are given as tasks or homework after the therapy session and for sure it can help the patients.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Conquer Needle Phobia is a self help book to help you understand your fears of needle Phobia and recognise if you have a needle Phobia or fear.
The book is broken down into bitesize sections and each one gives information, suggestions and references throughout the book.
This is a book I will read again when I am due fir a blood test as I always go squeamish and faint so I'm hoping this will help me next time with refreshers of information and ideas.

This is definitely a book that I will refer back to when needed. I requested this book prior to having major surgery and knowing my history of being a fainter I wanted to minimise my chances and have a better experience in a not so nice situation. It definitely helped and it’s definitely a mind over matter thing at times! Would highly recommend

This was actually a pretty interesting take on needle phobias which is really interesting. I have a fear or needles and I know those around me have a fear of needles. So it’s always interesting to see those across the world and countries on how they feel about people’s fears when it comes to needles. This was really enjoyable and like I said, it’s always fun reading other people’s perspectives when it comes to these things. I highly highly enjoyed this! 5 out of 5 stars!

Review of Conquer Needle Phobia by Marty Martin

I got this book for my teenage adult daughter who has really bad, horrendous needle phobia. I myself am not a fan of needles (who is!) but will get them done without to much issue when needed (but will worry about it beforehand), I thought it would be good to read for both myself and my daughter.

I found the book to be concise and well written, with some thoughtful and interesting points and suggestions. I feel calmer at the thought of an injection after reading. My daughter thought the same, but we are yet to put it into practise, but I am hoping it helps when the time comes. I would recommend this as a read if you suffer.

I gave this book a quick once over and wasn't all too terribly impressed. I had previously heard of/researched the majority of what this book covered on needle phobia, so I didn't feel as if I had learned something new. However, if you do have fear of needles and struggle with passing out during procedures, this book does have some interesting tidbits of information that may help. However, I feel like I could have pretty much learned everything off of Google, so I'm not sure that I could justify purchasing it myself.
