HOW TO SLEEP TIGHT THROUGH THE NIGHT by TZIVIA GOVER & LESLEA NEWMAN.

With thanks to #NetGalley and #StoreyPublishing for an ARC in return for an honest review.
I was interested to read this book, as I have a child who struggles to sleep.
It contains some interesting and useful advice.
My daughter and I both read it. She enjoyed the ideas put forward in the book, and as an older child she was able to discuss what she’d read with me.
Definitely more suited to older children, who have the ability to understand things like amxious feelings and mindfulness.
A useful tool for parents.
If you have a child who struggles to sleep, this book is well worth a read.

Good resource for older children (5+) who might have difficulty getting to sleep or sleeping through the night. Includes some mindfulness type exercises to reduce anxiety and get into the right mood for sleep such as drawing/journaling, craft and gratitude practices. Lovely, engaging illustrations that help with setting up good sleep hygiene for children and I may have even borrowed a few as an adult!

Many thanks to the publishers, authors and Netgalley for an ARC in return for an honest review.

As an adult with insomnia, I should probably take a lot of the advice in this book.

How to Sleep Tight through the Night is a children's picture book that's not only about important facts about how getting good sleep is healthy for you, but also offers good ideas on how ta child can set up their own bedtime routine. I like the examples given such as keeping a journal by the bed to write a little diary before sleeping and how to cast out anxiety so that you can get good sleep. The illustrations are nice, the scientific information is helpful and fun, and the ideas on routine and getting to sleep are really great.

The first thing to notice are the sleeping eyes in the word Sleep on the cover. The artist Vivian Mineker draws starry eyes and other delightful illustrations inside the book. Even the monster nightmares don’t look that scary.

The authors give several great suggestions for a good night’s sleep. What to do with your worries? What’s better to count than the usual sheep? What are things to make? Breathing exercises, how?

Highly recommended book! Now excuse me, I’m going to sleep with my cat. ZzzZzZzzz......

This is definitely a book designed for an older child, not a toddler. I would say 5+. It is lovely and I think could be a very valuable tool for parents to help their child sleep. I would love a book geared more toward a younger child as well.

What a cute book! It’s for children a little older than my toddler, but I thought it was adorable. I absolutely love the illustrations and the practical tips for helping children wind down and fall asleep at night.

I hadn't realised when I selected this book that it was a book for children to read about sleeping better, rather than advice for parents about their children sleeping better. Though on reflection the cover artwork is clearly aimed at children themselves.

I loved the book and it's ideas to help children sleep better, especially the craft, drawing and journalling ideas. A great idea to engage with children in a beautifully illustrated book and a wonderfully kind and compassionate tone to the writing as well. Both of my children are too young to read by themselves, but when I showed them the pages and some of the ideas they were keen to draw their day, try giving gratitude at the end of the day, make a scent sock and the glitter globe was a success too!

This was such a helpful little book. My sister is not a very good sleeper and this book was a huge help. We loved going though the steps to help her calm down and fall asleep on her own in her bed. She especially loved the story time part. This book also has some helpful tips and tricks for adults as well.

Amazing book for kids and families to read. I loved the idea of how it starts off by having kids understand why it is important to sleep and how it helps our body to grow. The journal part was amazing and a great idea. But my favorite part was how to say thank you at night for everything. I also enjoyed how it gave kids creative crafts to do and make to help them sleep better like the smelling socks, and the stars jar. I will defiantly buy a copy and have in my school classroom library. As a teacher it is important to have these book and students to read.

Such a precious book to encourage children to sleep well. I love that it explains why sleep is so important while also providing resources to help kids get excited about going to bed (pillows, aromatherapy, etc).

As someone who works in sleep medicine and who has a child who struggles with sleep onset, I was intrigued by this book and I am impressed by it’s content. There are over 30 practical strategies to help your child sleep and they use a combination of sleep hygiene (good sleep habits) and mindfulness techniques. I imagine there is a strategy in the book that will appeal to each and any child. The illustrations that accompany the strategies are bright, colourful and friendly. It’s definitely an asset for any family.

Thanks to the authors, publishers and Netgalley for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest opinion.

I LOVE this book!

It is simply beautiful, the ideas, the images. Everyone with children NEED this book!

My eldest has for a long time had great difficulty in settling to sleep and I thought I had exhausted every trick.

However, after trying some of the beautiful ideas that this book is filled with, my little ones were so at ease and relaxed for bedtime and slept soundly. Helping to quiet their minds of invading thoughts and little things they enjoy doing each night.

Thank you for an early eARC of this wonderful book Tzivia Gover, Lesléa Newman, Storey Publishing and NetGalley. All of these beautiful ideas my children and I will use each night.
