IF you haven't read a book by Abby Jimenez yet, what are you waiting for? I have loved every one, and this is no exception. While the books take place in the same world, this can absolutely be read as a standalone. I've read all of them, and while it's fun to catch references to characters from other books, they definitely aren't part of the storyline. This story is all about Alexis and Daniel, and they are definitely one of my new favorite couples.

This feels like a city mouse- country mouse story. There are lots of Disney and fairytale references which are charming. I know I will read it again and be a little more focused on all the different connections. Alexis is a doctor from Minneapolis, and her family is hospital royalty. Daniel is fro a small town a couple hours away, a town that his family has always taken care of. Their first meeting is awesome and will have you googling pictures of goats in pajamas. And the rest of their journey is equally lovely as they grapple with their strong connection and their familial/community responsibilities. I loved it. I can't wait to read it again. And now I can't wait for the next book!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book follows in Jimenez's trademark ability to pair humor with difficult topics in the most perfect balance. She puts her characters through the wringer with realistic and relatable adversities and makes you feel all the feels.

You absolutely can read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading her books in order. Not only are they all amazing, but there are interconnected moments you'll love.

The meet cute in this book is everything (just like all her books!) and I was swooning over Daniel immediately. He is such a fantastic hero. He was so lovable and swoon worthy and only became more so with each page.

I loved Alexis from the beginning too. Her character flaws are so situational and it was really amazing to see her grow. I loved her personality and I loved her heart.

The dichotomy between super small town and big city is so well done in this book. I loved the glimpses we got into both as it was enlightening into the upbringings of Daniel and Alexis.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. It was wonderful. The communication between the characters, the romance, and the difficult topics covered were just a few of my favorites.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

What to expect:
*Opposites attract/Hidden romance
*Small town vs big city setting
*Chosen family over birth family
*Pressure of family obligations
*Escaping mentally abusive relationships

Plot: Neil is a small town guy, running his families B&B, selling his carpentry pieces and trying to keep his families legacy alive. He helps everyone around him without expecting anything in return because that’s how things are done in Wakan.

Alexis is an ER Dr at the hospital her great great great grandfather started. She’s on a career track set for her before she was even born. She’s achieved everything she was always told she would but is miserable. She’s recently broken it off with her mentally abusive boyfriend, who her father adored and expects her to get back together with.

By chance, these two characters meet when Alexis’s car breaks down in Wakan. They hit it off instantly and a one night stand becomes several and before they know it they’re falling in love. But Alexis refuses to let herself feel that way. She has too many obligations to her family legacy and doesn’t see how Neil can fit into that life. At the same time she’s not sure how to live without him.

My thoughts: This book was so good, it captivated me from the start, broke my heart and put it back together again. The journey the two characters, Neil & Alexis, take was remarkable and one of the most emotional I’ve read recently. It touched on so many things related to emotional abuse, escaping toxic relationships, choosing your own happiness & path in life. This was enjoyable to read, but also frustrating & infuriating. The range of emotions I felt is what makes this book stand out for me, ultimately falling completely in love with their story & ending.

Part of your world had me hooked from the first chapter. I love how realistic the worlds and scenarios Abbey creates are with the long distance relationship issues, the reality of online dating Bri experiences, to the abuse both physical and emotional situations. She handles them in a way that doesn't brush them over just to add to the storyline which is very important. This may be one of my favorite Abbey books and includes my new favorite characters. I laughed out loud at many scenes mostly the Daniel, Doug, and Brian conversations. I can't wait until this book is released as I will definitely be recommending it to all my friends.

I loved this book. I read it in one sitting cause I couldn’t put it down. A baby goat, a hot carpenter, an age gap, small town magic .. I mean what more can we ask for?

I loved the way the author wrote about this small town. I felt like just enough detail was added about the town, it’s history, and the side characters to fall in love with it.

I loved the character development in Alexis, our MC. She was going through a lot and watching her grow through the story as someone who has been in a relationship like the one between Alexis and her abusive ex was like seeing me grow through the pages.

Daniel is absolutely swoon worthy and will be everyone’s next book bf. I mean come on, he was a gem. Sweet and genuine. So passionate and loving ahhhh! The way him and Alexis fall in love, will have you in your feels.

I thought the DV mentioned and trauma worked through was done well. Seeing the full cycle of abuse was infuriating but I personally thought the conversations were handled well and with care.

This was such a good book! I really loved it

CW: on page physical abuse to side character. Gaslighting and emotional abuse to MC by ex partner and parents.

Amazing! I couldn’t put this book down once I started it. Abby has such an incredible talent for making you feel like you have a personal connection to the characters, and you cannot help but to fall in love with them from the first page.

Part of Your World made my heart happy, I smiled, laughed out loud, and cried.

It begins with a great “meet cute” between Alexis and Daniel. Alexis is at a point in her life where she is trying to work through many difficult relationships involving her ex-boyfriend of 7 years, her parents and a few snobby friends. She is trying to reconcile these complex and nuanced relationships that have shaped who she currently is, in hopes of finding her true self and happiness.

While trying to navigate all of these past experiences to find a new path forward Daniel has come in to her life. Now she must fight the urge to let herself fall in love with him while she is still working on herself.

This book was a magical trip to small-town America and the kind of setting we all secretly would love to in. Who doesn't want to be rescued by a cute guy as you shimmy out of your Spanx? The love story between Alexis and Daniel was so charming and heartfelt, I was swept right in. I finished the book in less than 6 1/2 hours and I've never done that before.

If you want friendship, fun, laughter, community and a hard-fought love in the end, this is the book for you.

A dog in love (with a person, no less) and a baby goat just add to the love story that isn't just between two people but with an entire town. If you loved the movie "Doc Hollywood" you'll love this book.

Abby Jimenez delivers yet another page turner that you may not be able to put down! In Part of Your World, Abby shares with us the lives of two people who come from drastically different levels of society. We get to experience both worlds from their initial point of view and see how their views change as the story unfolds. All the little details Abby includes really help you visualize theirs worlds and relate to many of the characters. As usual, Abby also tackles some very sensitive topics in a way that will likely be very eye-opening to many readers. Oh, and yes, there is a baby goat in pajamas and maybe some other surprise animals!!!

This was one of my most anticipated reads, being a HUGE fan of the Friend Zone series, and it did not disappoint!!

Daniel and Alexis come from completely different worlds. Daniel is 28 years old, works as the “mayor” in a small, rural town, has tattoos, did not go to college and does not know how to use Uber or social media. Alexis is 37 years old, lives in city, is an ER doctor, comes from a family with a prominent and prestigious background and has never done her own laundry or the dishes. When Alexis’ car gets stuck in a ditch on her way home from a funeral, and Daniel comes to the rescue, the two quickly find peace and comfort within each other despite being at all odds.

I loved so much about this book. It’s charming, funny and will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Like Jimenez’s other books, this story is more than a typical romance. Real life struggles and issues are addressed and so well portrayed through the character’s dialogue and internal thoughts. I love how you were able to see Alexis and Daniel grow with each other as they pushed themselves outside each other’s comfort zone. I also totally fell in love with the magical town of Wakan. It kind of reminded me of Virgin River.

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the advanced copy. I can’t wait for Bri’s story in 2023.

Well, Abby has done it again. This book is magical. It had me smiling and laughing and sobbing (ugh, Chapter 35 got the waterworks going) and holy cow it is just so good. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Abby has a gift and I’ll read anything she writes. HEAP will always be my favourite (it is my favourite book period) but Part of Your World is a close second.

Alexis is a character so many women can probably relate to. She has the weight of the world and her family’s expectations on her shoulders, and grapples with balancing her wants and desires with those pressures. And with Daniel Abby has created such a wonderful, mature (despite the age gap), kind and compassionate character that it would be hard to not fall in love with. I love that Abby writes with the dual POV because I love getting both main characters’ perspectives as they fall for each other. And then the cast of supporting characters is so lovely and adds so much warmth and heart to the story.

I also loved the little connections to HEAP (I won’t say anything else so as not to spoil, but there are some big and small references to HEAP that fans will love).

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! Just...wow! It felt like I was right there with the characters and not just reading a book. I love how she wrote about the different types of abuse and that you can survive, you can get help. There is hope! She managed to intertwine this with bringing two different worlds together and an amazing love story that you would expect to hear from your Great Grandparents. All this AND a baby goat in pajamas 🤣

Honestly, what is there even to say about Abby Jimenez that hasn’t already been said? She will make you laugh out loud and cry, sometimes in the same chapter. Her characters are multidimensional, with complex thoughts and ideas and hopes and fears. Ya know, like real human people. She single-handedly saved me from the deep reading slump of 2021 in which I spent 3 days reading all 3 of her books, then fell directly back into a reading slump when alas, I had read all her books. What did I love about this book in particular? The same thing I love about all of Abby’s books. She captures human struggle and heartache with tenderness and care in a way that feels realistic. Sure, just as in life, there is pain. But she tackles it in a way that feels like getting the best, warmest hug of your life. I think the best part about Abby’s books is that as much as love saves her main characters, they always save themselves first

I liked the relationship between Alexis and Daniel and how she learned how to stand up for herself.
I liked the look into relationships and therapy. Definitely some triggers for anyone who has been in an abusive relationship.
A cute romance.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC!

This was a wonderful book. The interweaving plot lines and the characters were fantastic. I love how the author can take several heavy, real life issues and tackle them with honesty and grace, but also a touch of humor. This is definitely an author and book I’d recommend, and one I know I will buy a paper copy of and read again (which I don’t do often!).

Another book by Abby Jimenez that doesn’t disappoint. In fact, the books just keep getting better. This book combines serious issues and laugh out loud humor. Emotional abuse and dick pics both handled so well! The characters are likable and their issues are genuine. You cheer for Alexis and Daniel. Their lifestyles are so different but you can see how Alexis who seems to have everything needs to be taught the basics from Daniel. He never put her down for not knowing how to do the everyday things. I could have finished this book in a day, but didn’t want it to end so I waited to finish it the next morning. I love Abby’s writing style and will have a hard time waiting another year plus to read her next masterpiece. I did enjoy little nods to a few characters we had met before in her other books as well.

This book was magic! I loved it.

I appreciated that this story focuses on Alexis as the heroine instead of Daniel being her savior. By the end, I kept thinking about what a force she is! The way she starts out as sheltered princess type character and grows into a strong, powerful queen... *chef's kiss*

I enjoyed the Disney undertones as well as the references to The Princess Bride. And I absolutely loved the magic throughout the book. It was the kind of magic that you could choose to ignore and chalk up to nature or whatever.. but it was there!! The universe truly wanted these two together.
I always appreciate references to characters from this author's previous books. They were subtle but I like to know that those characters are still out in the universe!
Alexis and Daniel might be my new favorite couple from Abby Jimenez's mind. 💙

I absolutely loved this magical romance. Abby Jimenez truly has such a gift for storytelling. I was equal parts enchanted and emotional while reading, with a little frustration (at the circumstances) thrown in for good measure. Of course there was plenty of humor laced in along the way, only Abby Jimenez words can make me laugh while I’m already crying from a page or two ago.

Alexis and Daniel meet after a chance encounter and have a delightful one night stand. They couldn’t be more opposite if they tried, but there’s no denying the spark between them and neither was willing to give that up after one night.

They are both practically royalty, but from far different kingdoms. Alexis’s family is a wealthy, powerful medical dynasty, with all the pressure and expectation that comes along with high achieving doctor parents. Daniel is a small town prince, from a long line of mayors and town protectors. He’s a carpenter a decade younger than the fair doctor, but something seems to draw them together despite their differences.

It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me swoon. It made my stomach hurt at one point because I was so frustrated with the circumstances keeping them apart.

Definitely recommended for anyone who loves opposites attract, small town romance with tons of heart and magic! It was a beautiful modern fairytale.

I love all of Abby’s books but this one felt like home to me. It was warm, comfortable and funny! It’s easy to fall in love with Alexis and Daniel (and Hunter!). This truly continues the legacy of great reads and I loved the little Easter eggs to characters we’ve met before. Cannot wait for the next one!

Abby spins a fairy tale, Brigadoon-esque story that addresses complex and challenging themes in modern terms. What's actually important in life? What constitutes happiness? Who deserves to be happy? What about the roles that others assign you? Are you responsible for their expectations? She carefully and skillfully crafts a world that's so easy to get lost and immersed in, where the characters feel real and the world itself draws you in and keeps you in its embrace.

Different types of abuse are explored in an extremely competent and gentle way, validating the experiences while speaking to the reader how to hold grace for the survivor and offer light. The living story also breathes valuable lessons to the reader that is open to hearing them.

Rarely do I come away with a sense that a fictional story has left an imprint on my heart, but this one definitely wound a magical spell on me.

This book is pure magic.

In true Abby Jimenez fashion I laughed until I cried and then I truly cried my eyes out over this book. And of course, by the end my heart had been pieced back together and I just wanted to start reading this book all over again.

Daniel the most amazing cinnamon roll character. If you loved Adrien from Life’s Too Short you will droll over Daniel in Part Of Your World. He’s warm and yummy and I loved him oh so much. Alexis was the most amazingly complex character and I thought Abby did an incredible writing her. I connected with her and in more ways than I ever expected to. Ways that made me sob at time through this book and want to wrap her in a hug. This book touched my soul as I walked with Alexis on this journey.

This book so beautifully touches on issues such as age differences in relationships, classism, lack of medical care, and emotional abuse, and does so with the care and respect we have come to appreciate from Abby’s work.

And the animals in this one….oh man. They will melt your heart. There is no other way to describe this book other to say it’s full of pure magic. I can’t give Abby’s books any more stars and this one is deserving of them all. Read this one as quick as you can get your hands on it.
