This was a lot cuter then I originally anticipated. I’ve read Jimenez works in the past, specifically from this series and I’m particularly excited to see where else she goes with the rest of her works. I really loved this and appreciate grand central for the arc approval!

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

This was the first book I have ever read by this author. When I first saw this book I went and looked it up and of course I looked up the author. There was a lot of hype around this author and her books so I said if it's even half as good as what everyone is saying then this will be a great read! It's not very often when you get to come back and say it has lived up to every word said about it and then some!

The fact that Abby uses real life problems and issues in her books and keeps it all on a realistic level just adds to the enjoyment of the story! But it also helps with being able to feel what the characters feel! This really is a wonderful story!

The chemistry, the passion, the heartache to the want and the need you can feel all of that and more in this story! Thank you Abby Jimenez for sharing such a beautiful story with us!

Abby does it again. With every new book, I fall more in love with this world that she has built. Alexis and Daniel are such a match, in that they provide what the other doesn’t have, they balance each other beautifully. The romance was sweet, the one-liners zingy, (Margaritas, they are strong...I measured it with my heart”). Thank you to the publisher for providing me with the advanced reader copy. I’m looking forward to preordering both the hardcopy and audiobook.

Abby Jimenez has done it again! I have been an Abby fan since the very beginning, when I received an ARC of The Friend Zone after winning it in a giveaway on Bookstagram. I have loved every one of Abby's books, and I love the way she tackles all kinds of different topics and emotions in her books. In her latest book, Part of Your World, the main characters are Alexis and Daniel. This is a reverse age gap romance; Alexis is 38 and Daniel is 28. That is where their differences start. Daniel is from a small town, Alexis lives in the city. Alexis is an Emergency Room physician with a world renowned family and Daniel is a jack of all trades, doing a little bit of everything. From the very beginning when Daniel is described as Scott Eastwood with a beard, I was in love with Daniel. The fact that Alexis's dad and boyfriend were absolutely horrible also helped Daniel shine as the ultimate book boyfriend. I loved the way Alexis and Daniel took care of each other, and I really loved the way Daniel took care of Alexis. There was a lot of "simple" things she didn't know how to do because she always had people to do them for her. She was able to learn a lot from Daniel, and Daniel learned a lot from Alexis as well, like how much his talent was really worth. Alexis and Daniel are supported by a phenomenal cast of characters. I love her snarky best friend, Bri- she had a lot of great one liners in the book "Mantrum- the clitoris has 8000 nerve endings and its still not as sensitive as a white man who doesn't get what he wants" haha, excuse me while I spit my drink out. She provided the perfect amount of comic relief throughout the book, and I liked how she stood by Alexis through thick and thin. The people in Daniel's life were a lot more likeable than the people in Alexis's life, and I have never laughed so hard about a scene about sending the perfect dick pic. Add in a baby goat in clothes and you've got the recipe for a perfect romantic comedy. I am already looking forward to Bri's story- is it 2023 yet?! Thank you to the publisher for giving me a chance to read a copy of this book. I'll be posting my review on my Instagram account @readingmama_reviews.

Abby has really outdone herself with this book. I could not put it down. Although it is outside the universe of her other books, I really love Alexis and Daniel. I was excited to be updated on a previous person from one of her other books. This book, like her others, touches on sensitive topics and situations. She seems to expertly navigate and research those tough topics. This book made me laugh, cry and cheer the main characters on. I was not disappointed with this at all, I'm only disappointed that there is no more books of hers to be read for awhile. Job well done, Abby! Preoder this book now!

I was really apprehensive going into Part of Your World. I didn’t love Life’s Too Short (for a few reasons, full review on my blog), and class differences and age gaps are some of my least favorite tropes. I’ll be honest, I was not planning on reading this one at all, but FOMO got the best of me. And I’m glad it did, I ended up really enjoying Part of Your World!

I loved The Friend Zone and Happily Ever After Playlist when I read them, but Part of Your World felt very different to me. Even though it has some heavy content (domestic violence, emotional abuse, and a few other triggers) the story didn’t feel as intense as TFZ. And I liked that even with the heavy content it was really readable. After the last couple of years I don’t think I could read another romance with such intense trauma as TFZ.

Here are some of the aspects of the story that I really enjoyed:

-The magical town! I loved the how the town had a magic feel and some magical realism elements
-The Lola Simone side plot, she wasn’t even in the book and I was obsessed with her “cameos”
-Alexis’ character growth. I really enjoyed how she evolved throughout the book
-Swoon-worthy hero, Daniel was delightful!
-Introduction to the heroine of the next book, Bri! I LOVED her. Very excited she gets her own book.

The one change I noticed from the previous books is how this one felt very low steam to me. There are two completely closed door scenes and two very low steam scenes. Something to take note of if you’re like me and always looking for steam!

If you’re looking for a romance to escape into, I recommend trying Part of Your World!

Wow! Thank you so much to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for giving me an arc of this fantastic book. I have been a fan of author Abby Jimenez since The Friend Zone came out and she has become an “automatic buy” author for me. I thought Happy Ever After Playlist was my favorite but I this one just came in and stole that title!

Alexis is a 37-year-old emergency room doctor who has spent her life trying to please everyone around her. She comes from a family of doctors who have big shoes to fill and high expectations for her. Daniel is the mayor and jack of all trades in the small town of Wakan, where he meets Alexis after towing her car out of a ditch. The attraction is immediate and the two instantly start to fall for one another. But they have a lot of obstacles in their way, namely their 10 year age gap and the social gap that threatens their happiness.

I just loved this story. Daniel is so sweet and patient and you can really see how his love for Alexis gives her the strength to overcome many of the obstacles she’s facing. She is the survivor of an abusive relationship where she was made to believe that she was worthless regardless of all of her achievements. Daniel shows her that he would love her no matter who she was, and you can see her character growth because of it. I laughed out loud so many times (definitely at that dick pic scene) and by the end I had cried a few times, too. I really enjoyed all the magical elements sprinkled throughout, the fairy tale references, and the nods at characters from Jimenez’s previous books.

This is easily one of my favorite rom coms that I’ve read this year and I can’t wait to check out Bri’s story next! That girl is hilarious and I wish we could all have a best friend like her!

I adore all of the books Jimenez has given us. Truly some of my fave romances, so it goes without saying I was ecstatic to get this one! I gobbled it up as fast as I could!

I can’t say it’s my fave from her. It didn’t make me laugh nearly as much as her others. That’s okay though! The story was great, I adored the characters and the heart of the book was so so good.

May not be my favorite from her, but man oh man am I excited it’s going to be a series! Count down is officially on for the next book! Can’t wait to go back to this small town and awesome characters soon!

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW
I'm a fan of Abby's books but this one blew me out of the water.
When I picked up her first book, I started it at 1am and didn't stop until I finished it at 6am. With this one I took me time and savored it over two days because I did NOT want it to end.

The fourth book in Abby's "Friend Zone" universe, Part of Your World is an age gap/social gap romance with just a *little* hint of magic. It follows Dr. Alexis Montgomery, a 37-year old ER doctor coming from a 125-year lineage of doctors at her Minneapolis hospital, and Daniel Grant, a 28-year-old carpenter/innkeeper/town mayor who has his own family and small town legacy to protect. When Alexis is stuck in a ditch on the side of the road and the only one to help get her car out of it is Daniel, a night consisting of a bet, a goat in pajamas, and grilled cheese lead to an unforgettable romance that improves the lives of a whole town.

While, like all of Abby's books, this story touches on some very sensitive topics (TW: domestic abuse, emotional abuse, gaslighting), this story has just the right amount of realism and parallels to some Disney magic to make the reader feel grounded in this world. I absolutely fell in love with Daniel and how his upbringing shaped not only him, but his entire community. His one outlook is a running theme throughout the book and changes how so many people see the world: “Grace costs you nothing.” Alexis comes from privilege and doesn't even realize just how rose-colored her glasses are until she sees it through Daniel's eyes. Together, they're a couple that shouldn't work, but it's delicious when they do.

This romance is steamy in all the right places (while not actually all that graphic!) and also has such a big heart. I knew I would like it, but I truly was not expecting to fall in love with it and the ENTIRE town of Wakan. I feel so lucky to have been in the first group of folks to read it! And I will absolutely be re-reading it many times to come.

CW: Abuse (physical, emotional, psychological, verbal)

The only thing I didn't like about this book is that I knew it had to end! Part of Your World is one of the best books I have read in a while (and I read A LOT of books). I've been a fan of Abby Jimenez since The Friend Zone and have loved each of her books - but I have to say this one was by far my favorite.

Alexis is a 37 year old ER doctor who has spent her life conforming to the wishes of everyone around her. She's taken on the education, the job, the relationship, the friendships, etc because it's what's expected of her, not because it's what she desires. And she's realized that pleasing everyone else is not going to make her happy - and is pretty much a losing battle. A chance meeting with a (younger!) Daniel begins to open her eyes to not just living life, but enjoying it! Daniel is a breath of fresh air (and the goat in pajamas is just an added bonus).

This entire story is just so.... sweet....and tender.... and hopeful. Which, honestly, isn't that what we all need right now? A little more hope? And Part of Your World delivers ten fold. I love that Jimenez can blend unique intricacies into the book without detracting from the story. Elements that risk being silly and outlandish (hello, Kevin Bacon) Jimenez writes so seamlessly that I have no issue whatsoever believing that there is a chocolate- loving, village-wandering pig. Or a baby goat in pajamas. Even the fantastical nuances are seen as providentially romantic, and the impossible seems probable...because of the way Jimenez weaves them so beautifully into the story, I can't help but think it all makes perfect sense. I'm a believer. :-)

There was just so much I loved about this book and the story of Daniel and Alexis. Even the supporting characters won me over (well, most of them.... the ones that didn't? you know who you are). Overall, Part of Your World is a book that will stick with me long after I've finished reading. It was THAT good.

And let me just say that I am now waiting (rather impatiently) for Bri's story to come out... that girl is a TRIP! She is the best friend we all want and need.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book! Alexis - the big city ER doctor, Neil - the abusive Ex and Daniel - the small town, Jack of all trades. I couldn’t stop reading this book and needed to know who Alexis ends up with. I really enjoyed how Abby incorporated serious topics into a rom-com book. I also appreciate how she bases her books off of her personal friendships and experiences. I’m already looking forward to her next book!

I loved this book so much and I only cried like 45% as much as I did reading Abby’s other (all 5-star) books.

When Alexis Montgomery was probably nearly killed by a raccoon while driving through the small town of Wakan, MN, she didn’t expect it to alter the course of her life.

But her rescuer is Daniel Grant, a gorgeous (but down-to-earth) master of all trades who not only is both the mayor and innkeeper of the town, but also has a baby goat (in pajamas!).

The two couldn’t be more different. Daniel was born and raised in Wakan with the intent of spending the rest of his life with the town so tight-knit it’s become family. Alexis is an ER doctor who is the next in line to carry on the medical legacy that’s made her family wealthy, famous, and insufferable.

But their chemistry is undeniable. Despite feeling certain that they have no future (her family is awful, and her job [while her dream] is only growing more demanding) Alexis can’t stop returning to Daniel - and Wakan - in every free time she has. As Alexis falls for every part of the town, they fall for her in equal measure. But Daniel can’t abandon his own legacy and home to be with Alexis at hers - and she can’t stay.

Holding on by a thread isn’t tenable forever. And there’s no way to keep each other from getting hurt in the fallout. If their separate lives may as well be two entirely different worlds, Alexis and Daniel will have to decide where their priorities lie - and if that’s enough to bridge the gap.

I was provided a digital ARC for an honest review. THIS BOOK. Abby Jimenez never seems to disappoint me. I honestly went into this book with medium expectations, as I was not expecting it to top The Friend Zone series (specifically The Happy Ever After Playlist). I was wrong. The book is focused on two MCs, Daniel and Alexis. We follow their story through a dual POV writing style, which I absolutely loved. When I tell you I had the full array of emotions with this one, I mean it. You will laugh and cry throughout this book. Abby Jimenez's writing style keeps the storying flowing, while also drawing in on the characters development and inner monologue. I honestly cannot decide if I love Alexis and Daniel more, or if Sloan and Jason from The Happy Ever After Playlist still have my heart. Upon finishing this ARC, I have since pre-ordered a physical copy of this book. Abby also put a small tribute to Alexis's best friend Bri at the end of the book. It seems Bri will also be getting her own book in 2023! It looks like Abby Jimenez is going to continue a similar structure to The Friend Zone series and I cannot WAIT for it.

Abby has done it again! I love this so much. Abby is the queen of blending heart and humor. Please check out this book and enjoy. Now to find my own Daniel. ❤️

Once I find an author I like, I seek out all books that they write. Abby Jimenez does not disappoint with “Part of Your World”! Characters that are fully formed-check. Interesting storyline that propels you to keep reading-check. Details and unique situations; never formulaic-check. Since I don’t want to give away any spoilers, I’ll just say that if you have enjoyed other books by Abby, you won’t be disappointed. And if you haven’t, what are you waiting for?

A huge THANK YOU to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

A beautiful story of two individuals who fall in love despite their different social status and societal pressures. A beautiful reminder to listen to your heart and put yourself first. Alexis is a doctor living in a big city expected to continue her family’s legacy. Daniel is a humble, and hard working young man from a small town who is always there when needed. Fate brings them together when she is run off the road by a raccoon!
I was in awe with everyone in the town of Wakan, and the way they looked after each other will make you want to live there. I am always impressed by how Abby Jimenez manages to bring attention to difficult topics (Part of Your World touches subjects of abuse, emotional and physical) and still keep the stories lighthearted. Abby writes about these characters in a way that makes you feel like you know them. My heart broke reading some of the obstacles and struggles the character had to go through, but my heart felt full every time something wonderful happened to them as well. This is probably my new favorite book by Abby Jimenez, and I REALLY loves the Happy Ever After Playlist. I cannot recommend this book enough, preorder your copy and you won’t be disappointed!
“Grace costs you nothing”

Raise your hand if you read this book in less than 24 hours! Who read it twice in 48? Part of Your World is an emotional roller coaster of love, fear, sadness, joy, and sex. What more could you ask for?

Basic plot: Alexis Montgomery, ER doctor from Minneapolis meets small town Mayor Daniel Grant completely by accident. On a bet, they leave on a “date” and start an unknown relationship that incorporates two worlds colliding. The storyline includes: determining whom is a true friend, small town living, emotional and physical abuse, finding oneself, loving “out of class”, upper class stereotypes, and a baby goat in pajamas.

What I enjoyed the most: the way Abby Jimenez engages the reader. I did NOT want to put the book down for a moment, not even to feed my family dinner! From the moment I was approved to preread Part if Your World, I could hardly find a point to pause and pay attention to real life. The characters came to life in my mind and I wanted to be friends with all of Alexis and Daniel’s friends.

What was uncomfortable: when emotional and physical abuse was described, it was in depth. While it was gut-wrenching to read about, it was well written and described in a way that would have readers understanding what the character was going through. **Could be a trigger for someone who has been through this experience**

Thank you to NetGalley, Abby and Estelle, for granting me permission for an advanced copy of this great book!

Be sure to pick up your copy when it becomes available in 2022 or preorder it now!

I enjoyed this so much I read it in less than 24 hours. I really loved the typical "small-town guy who is good with carpentry and other crafts" paired with the really smart doctor lady! I appreciated the break from the typical story where a rich, snobby girl meets and is humbled by the love interest. Yes, Alexis comes from a rich and powerful family. But she is intensely smart and a hardworking doctor who really cares about her loved ones. She is a multifaceted character who undergoes a lot of growth and is recovering from an emotionally abusive relationship. Daniel was amazingly sweet and devoted, and I liked him immediately. He is a great character and I liked that we got to read both of their point of view.
The chemistry and sweet moments between these two just had me in LOVE with them both early on. And the tension when they had disagreements and were struggling over their lives being so different was extremely palpable. I was on the edge of my seat, rooting for their relationship the whole time. I was very invested! Jimenez does an excellent job of crafting a realistic, emotional love story without needing to insert tons of graphic scenes. This book is definitely good for readers who like their romance novels more on the sweet side.
I feel lucky to have been able to read this early! Can't wait for the world to get their hands on this one.

Part of Your World has just knocked Happy Every After Playlist out of place as my favorite Abby Jimenez book.

I could not put this one down and finished it in one sitting. I was immediately drawn into Daniel and Alexis' story. It was engaging, funny, heartbreaking and completely incredible. I laughed so hard I cried and I cried so much that my boyfriend came in to check on me. In just five hours I felt every emotion. I loved the hilarious and fun side characters (Bri, Doug and Hunter). I wanted nothing more than to be in Wakan with them. There is a lot to process but I think Abby handled the topic of abuse in all forms very well and in an accurate light.

This book tackled a lot but made you feel even more. It was heartwarming and magical.

I was lucky enough to score an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
I absolutely love Abby Jimenez’s books. When I heard the title of this one I was so excited, because The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie. I love all things Disney and magic, so I just knew this book was going to be a home-run for me. It did not disappoint. In my opinion this is the best book yet.
As usual, we have our hero and heroine in a situation where it does not look like it’s going to work out. Alexis and Daniel come from different worlds, quite literally.
Alexis just got out of a serious and emotionally abusive relationship. She has high expectations and social circles to live up to. Her parents suck the life out of her, most specifically her dad.
Daniel has been in Wakan his whole life. A small town where everybody knows everybody. He also has an adorable baby goat. He is the Mayor of the town, and everyone depends on him.
Both characters struggles are understandable and relatable. Jimenez also makes sure to develop other characters backstories, and makes their encounters seem realistic. Meanwhile there are other Easter eggs from her other books thrown in, sure to make you smile.
As a survivor of domestic violence, this book made me remember my time with my abusive ex. My abuser was like Neil, narcissistic and mean. It was all very relatable for me. I left him because he cheated on me too. That being said, the book did not trigger me. We accept the love we think we deserve.
