once again, heron creates a magical love story that focuses on her characters not just their relationship. kamila has always been outgoing and the talk of the town; throwing elaborate parties for her friends, having an influencer dog, wearing designer clothes, and planning amazing fundraisers for the local animal shelter. ever since her mother passed away, kamila and her family friend, rohan have been working to keep him healthy both physically and mentally. rohan is the golden boy in everyone’s eyes and a comfort to kamila. as kamila starts picking up more work in her dad’s business, rohan is there to support her every step of the way. i loved how you got to watch kamila grow throughout the whole book! this was a total slow burn romance, i just wished it picked up a little sooner!

I truly loved this book. It had everything you would want in a rom com.
Kamila was truly inspiring, a wonderful strong female lead. Even when put down so often by her own mom growing up, she stayed true to herself and accomplished so much on her own. Even then, not seeing herself for her true worth sometimes.
I enjoyed the friends to lovers plot with Rohan and Kamila and liked that the book stayed pretty “clean” throughout which makes it appropriate for younger readers as well.

I’m a true sucker for banter and this book did not disappoint. Kamila is a badass business woman that doesn’t let anyone tell her who to be. She’s witty, bright and Bollywood obsessed. Rohan’s a no nonsense lawyer with forearms from the gods (he’s a rock climber… need a way more) and he absolute PINES for Kamila. But of course…. she can’t see it *sigh*

This best friends to lovers is EXQUISITE!!! There’s even a (platonic) enemies to friends which I didn’t know I needed??? If you’re a fellow forearm obsesssed, banter loving romcom addict.. this book is for you!!

This is my second book by this author & I’m hooked! This was such a happy go-lucky book. Loved how close-knit all the friends were, truly family. And I’m a huge sucker for friends to lovers. I think it’s my favorite trope.

This breaks my heart, but I think this is the weakest one yet! This was just so slow at the beginning and it was hard for me to get into.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that I will devour any book Farah Heron writes. I loved her first two—THE CHAI FACTOR and ACCIDENTALLY ENGAGED—and with KAMILA KNOWS BEST, Farah has once again given us a perfect love story full of humour, heart and fun.

Kamila Hussain has a job she loves, an Instagram-famous dog and a best friend she enjoys flirting with at her weekly Bollywood movie nights. Unfortunately her long-time nemesis (and daughter of her dad’s best friend) has returned to the city and seems to have set her sights on stealing her best friend (who might be becoming something more) away from her.

This charming rom-com is a retelling of Jane Austen’s Emma (love!) with a main character who is tough, fun-loving and loyal to her family and friends. The love story is a sweet slow burn and the supporting cast of characters are the perfect compliment to Kamila and Rohan.

KAMILA KNOWS BEST releases on March 8, 2022 and is a must read for anyone who loves love.

When a brilliant romcom author who achieved to make you happy with her words before decides to write a book about the retelling of Emma sets in Toronto, you just request an arc and as soon as you get it: you just pop up your special champagne for celebration! That’s not so quick but a little elaborated version of my reading journey ( just the beginning part)

Both Kamila and Rohan are so much likable. Back story parts, character development were great!

This is light hearted, sweet, feel good romance we truly need at this time of the year. Who am I kidding? We always need romance at any time of the year!

Kamila loves to work as CPA at her father’s accounting firm. She loves her living situation - a quaint brownstone at east Toronto. She loves her social life, her volunteering gig. It seems like only thing she doesn’t like much is dating!

And Rohan is supportive long time friend, her sister’s brother in law, helping her to take care of her father. Their fathers are partners. Their families are already connected.

But Kamila’s peaceful life derails when her long time arch enemy decides to return back to town.
Overall: I think at some parts my love for Rohan surpassed my sympathy for Kamila! What a dreamy book boyfriend!

This is such a good friends to lovers troupe with smart and entertaining banters!

Absolutely I recommend it to any one who needs something fresh, energizing, making you feel good!

Kamila knows best is a retelling of Jane Austen's Emma. This is my first time book by this author and I found it really cute.

The start was a bit slow and it was kind of hard to get into. Kamila specially sometimes got on my nerves. Her insecurities did make sense though. Rohan and Kamila's relationship was a friends to lovers slow burn, they have known each other their whole life yet don't realize how they love each other. The book overall was a cute romcom.

Kamila and Rohan were magical. I loved every bit of this story, it was wonderful. I loved the plot of the story and I was thrilled with how much I enjoyed this book. I would give this recommendation to others and I can't wait to read more books from this author.

Kamila is CPA and working with her father at their accounting firm. Kamila's social life is pretty busy and she's involved in doing quite a bit of volunteer work and has no time for serious dating and no desire to date anyone seriously. Rohan is her sister's brother-in-law and long time friend. Rohan's father was in partnership with her dad. The families are very interconnected. Rohan has been a great support to Kamila over the past few years helping her care for her father as he had a bad depressive episode a few years ago. Kamila's arch nemesis, Jana is back in town and things get a little crazy.

The past month or so I have been in a reading slump so I've decided to try and stick to some happier light books to get out of my reading slump. This book was perfect to get me reading again. I was able to read this book over a few days. It's a cozy romcom story that takes place in my home town of Toronto which I liked. The book is coming out in March and I would highly recommend it if you want a feel good story.

What a cute and fun romcom. If you love close knit family and friends, puppies with cute names and costumes, and of course food (especially biryani) this book is for you!

Kamila Knows Best is an admirable light romance. It is meant to be consumed all in one sitting while on a Heartbreak Recovery mission. The characters are wonderfully lovable and beautifully flawed. I loved reading about Kamila's love, life, and dogs. The only thing that I would change about this book is the closed-door romance. I like my metaphorical doors open, thank you very much. Still, the ending is very satisfying. I recommend spending a lazy Sunday reading this and daydreaming about the perfect love.

I devoured this book in a day! Loved every page of it! I was a huge fan of Accidentally Engaged and pleasantly surprised how much more I enjoyed this one! A modern retelling of Emma and my new personal favorite. And can we talk about Rohan??? Wow - dreamy!

Kamila Knows Best is a modern retelling of Emma set in Toronto that doesn't stray too far from the original plot, but the changes that Farah Heron does make--particularly shortening the age gap between Kamilla (Emma) and Rohan (Knightley), having Kamila acknowledge that she has some kind of feelings for Rohan much earlier on, and giving Rohan flaws instead of Knightley's kinda-pompous perfection--are very welcome and so well done. I loved Kamila as this smart, fun-loving, doting woman whose worth often underestimated because of her outward appearance and demeanour, and her relatively heavy backstory weighs on the frustration she feels at not being valued by the people who matter to her most. Jane Austen said that her Emma would be hard to like (fair), but I did not have that problem with Kamila at all--she's very relatable, and while flawed, her deep empathy prevents her from being unsympathetic. I loved this.

Delightful, delightful, delightful! Fabulous friends to lovers story with adorable dogs and more adorable characters. I want to start a weekly Bollywood and biryani night myself!

A modern day Emma with a desi MC!!! The family drama is intense and I loved it. You’re going to crave boba and biryani. I’m not a fan of the muslim rep in this, but the other side characters were done pretty well!

Kamila Knows Best was such a treat.

Detailed writing, introspective characters, and good lord this book made me crave biryani.

Three things:
1. This book covers emotional abuse/death of a family member- so if that’s a trigger for you be cautious. BUT, it also talks about both Kamila and her Dads therapy journeys. Normalize all the therapy y’all! I am here for getting rid of the stigma around mental health care. Huge kudos to the author for this!
2. Gimme all the dogs. Potato. Darcy. Dog prom. It gave me life. Plus who doesn’t follow at least one dog on Instagram?
3. I love Rohan. Like love love. He’s a perfect book boyfriend, and is a great groveler! 😂

I had to try Biryani and Momos after this. 100% reccomend. Also the author included recipes im the back and we throughly enjoyed those.

The story was fast paced and just an all around lovely read.

This book was so cute, it's every rom com lovers dream. The obvious pining from rohan, kamila not knowing she's in love. It was everything I've ever needed. Also the act three breakup and reunion was everything I wanted. It lined up with Rohan's fantasy and I loved that so much.

Farah knocks it out of the park again! I loved Accidentally Engaged and I loved Kamila Knows Best just as much, if not more! What's not to love?
