an easy, quick thriller where you're trying to figure out who killed the neighbors the whole time. it felt repetitive at times and the writing wasn't completely captivating, but i had to know who did it! i wasn't shocked by the ending but still enjoyed it.

We Live Next Door by Laura Wolfe was an easy read. The author kept me interested in the story. I'm not sure I would call it an utterly gripping psychological thriller but it was more of a gum shoe detective story. Jessica lives in the neighborhood she grew up in along with her husband Mark and her 3 year old daughter Isabelle. The house she lives in was actually her family home in which her Mother Marilyn sold to her. The death of a neighbor sets off a chain of events that Jessica think that everyone is a killer. Easy read if you are looking for a "who dun it" story.

We live next door by Laura Wolfe is the story of Jessica and Mark who moved into Jessica childhood home after they buy the home from Jessica's mom, who now rents a condo and who visits her granddaughter Isabella frequently and unannounced. As Jessica starts settling in and began to feels safe in her neighbourhood, Barbara Draper, a woman, she knew from small is found dead in her bathtub. The neighbours as well as the police believe that the woman drowned in her tub but Jessica believes there is more to her neighbours death, when she begin receiving strange messages on the Neighbour list app. Is Jessica's neighbourhood really safe for her and her family or is something more sinister lurking around?

The book has a very good plot and kept me hooked on throughout. It was very difficult for me to put an finger on who the real murderer  was and the motive behind the murder or if it was just Jessica's imagination. In my eyes every character was a potential suspect which I really like about this book. The end was a total twist which I honestly did not see coming. The book was also a quick read though somewhere in the middle of the book Jessica's unwanted amateur investigation got a bit out of hand.

Overall a good thriller with a happy ending!

Just an ok read for me. It was a slow burner and I guessed who the perpetrator was which was a disappointment but that said it had few red herrings along the way. I would another by this author. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it

This is the first Laura Wolfe book I’ve read and on the whole really enjoyed it, Jessica the main character and her dog Roo turn into amateur detectives trying to find out what happened to her neighbours. There was a lot I liked about this book but was a little bit disappointed with the ending, it all wrapped up a bit too neatly for me.

Now what can I say to make you want to pick this up either for yourself or for a friend to read, I could talk about how it takes place in what seems like a good and safe neighborhood, where everyone knows everyone, and that there's even a friendly neighborhood message broad that lets you known what is going on for that day , but we all know how dangerous those can be since anyone can make an account and send out messages , and you wouldn't even know if their friend or foe. I could also say that right from the very start of the book it was suspenseful,so much so that though out the story I was suspicious of just about everyone and everything that I was finding out. As for the characters themselves there was times that I didn't like the main character herself but then there was times I didn't even like her husband, but though out the story I actually started liking them, and a few others as well. Plus it was just the type of story that I needed right now, even though I've been reading ,I've been in a some what reading slump , which means I would read a few chapters then put the book down and finish it the next day or two, but this one , it wasn't like that , in fact I wanted to just keep reading because of all the stuff I was finding out with each turn of the page.

I started off enjoying this book. The story itself was interesting, suspenseful, and thrilling! It was a page turner until about halfway through when the main character just became extremely annoying. She came across as whiny and over-reactively obnoxious to certain things that happened to her. The story moved along and kept me interested and invested which is why I continued to read! By the end though, when the mystery was all being tied together it seemed a bit too far fetched. Kind of like certain aspects of the mystery were tied together by trying too hard to make a jaw dropping thriller moment. Overall, I enjoyed the story, the writing was enjoyable and descriptive, and I’d still recommend it to friends.

“You know their secrets, but what if they know yours too”.
This book was soooo good! It took me a little bit to get into and I was suspicious of everyone from the get go.. I made me think and even though the person who did it was one of my suspects, it wasn’t confirmed until the last possibly minutes. After Jessica’s neighbour dies in suspicious circumstances, she wonders if she really knows everyone around her. Such a good plot and gripping story telling, kept me on the edge of my seat! Better than The Woman in the Window and perfect thriller for spooky season!

This is a super rollercoaster ride of a novel.
Lots of dark secrets spanning nearly 30 years and twists and turns throughout.
I would say this is a true psychological thriller which kept me hooked throughout. I especially loved this book as all the loose ends were tied up.
I would thoroughly recommend this book and thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC.

This was a well written domestic suspense and one where, as the story unfolded, we discover the characters numerous secrets which created a myriad of twists and turns.

I recommend this title to those who enjoy the suspense/thriller genre.

Whew! Loved this one!

Jessica & Mark moved into her mother’s old home with their daughter Isabelle. Nothing is better than the familiarity of the neighborhood. One night, one of her nastier neighbors dies suddenly & it sets off a chain of events (not to give away too much). Jessica can’t trust anyone. Even her husband & her best friend are hiding something from her. She starts getting threatening messages on her neighborhood app. Can she get to the bottom of it before it’s too late?

I found myself truly unable to put this book down. *she says as she types this review at 11:00pm on a work night* It was a great ride. Suspenseful, filled with red herrings, and truly had me guessing! I loved the character Jessica, she was smart & sensible.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick read, because you won’t want to put this one down!

Thank you Bookoutre and NetGalley for a copy We live next door. I heard so good for this book that I couldn’t wait to read it. But for me personally this wasn’t my cup of tea. Don’t get me wrong it had an okay storyline but for me I couldn’t connect to the characters in this story and because it was a narrated storyline from Jessica, it didn’t WOW me. In fact, I felt a bit bored at times. I only thought the story started connecting to me when I was reading the last few chapters at the end of the book. 3 stars from me.

Wow! This one pulled me in and didn't let me go until the end. The main character, Jessica, reminded me of another character with that first name - Jessica Fletcher of Murder She Wrote fame. Or even Miss Marple.

This Jessica is an amateur sleuth trying to put together the clues of a death the police say was accidental. But was it?

So many twists until the end.

4 stars for keeping really engaged in the story as there were so many possibilities on what was happening while reading this, that I was constantly wondering what as going to happen next.

I really enjoyed this book and the story, I also liked the fact it was inspired by an actual app. I was on edge at some points because I kept trying to work out who was lying, who could have done something, and who to trust.

I felt the pace was great for me as it built up tension and also kept me wanting to read to the next chapter. Also the inclusion of the messages from The Neighbor List was a good touch to show the different comments people are likely to send, and also creating more questionable motives among some of the neighbors.

Nice thriller mystery to read when you want something not too heavy to consume.

It was a fast read, just didn’t grip me. Not a bad novel just not one of the best that I have read this year.

This was really good! I enjoyed meeting the characters, especially Jessica, who was a refreshing addition. Laura did a great job of fleshing all the most important ones out. I got a great feel for most of them.

The mystery surrounding what was going on was exceptionally well done. There were several characters who seemed like they could be guilty. The author threw in plenty of red herrings that would send me careening off track. By the time the books was wrapped up, and the guilty party revealed, I wasn't completely surprised because I had the people on my radar, but they were connected in a way that startled me. And since the weren't my only suspects, I was glued to the pages until the end.

This was so well done, it deserves 5 stars. I can't wait to read more books by this author.
