Thank you Netgallley and Bookouture for the arc of this book. It was more of a mystery than a thriller, so that was a little disappointing, but if you love mysteries, you will enjoy this book! I loved the Neighbor List posts-they were just like my neighborhood posts. The rest of the book was good, even I didn't connect with any of the characters. I had no idea how it was going to end, so that was a surprise. I mainly read thrillers, so the book moved a little slowly for me.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!

Jessica and her husband, Mark, recently purchased her childhood home from her mother. Jessica returns to her neighborhood to see many families still reside there and a few new faces, including Rick, who is flipping a house across the week. Jessica is out one night walking her dog, when she sees Barbara in a window almost appearing to scream. Jessica could not shake that experience and when she woke up the next day she learned that Barbara had died, but of a fall from hitting the bathtub.

We follow Jessica as she continues to investigate what happened that night as she did not believe a fall was to blame for Barbara's death. During this time, someone begins to leave mysterious notes threatening Jessica and her family. Meanwhile, her daughter, Isabelle, has had a rough go around with a few trips to the ER due to falls, cuts, etc while being watched by her grandmother. Jessica feels like she is going crazy, she knows her mother would not hurt her daughter, her husband wouldn't be having an affair with their realtor friend, but nothing is adding up. This one had me guessing as to who to blame up until the very end, I did not see that coming!

I’ll get right to the point. This is a slow burn domestic thriller with a surprise ending that I actually did not see coming. The setting is a fictional Detroit suburb, so having been born and raised here I really enjoyed all the references to the place I call home. That was super fun for me! The inspiration for the story came from a local social app where neighbors are able to post questions, make recommendations, sell items, air complaints, etc. It was a good resource to come up with a cast of characters. We have one just like it in my community, so I could definitely relate! We even have some Barbaras 😆 (no spoilers here- read the book!)

What I didn’t like:
-The premise has a lot of promise, but there were some tangents with storylines that did not feel pertinent to the main plot, which dragged it out a bit.
-While the main character, Jessica, was processing her thoughts trying to solve the mystery she frequently repeated everything and it started to get redundant. -Some characters seemed to have conflicting personality traits being too trusting at times and extremely skeptical at others.
-The police appeared to be pretty dismissive, and at one point even disinterested, in helping solve the case because they didn’t like the victim, so there’s that.
-In order to get to the conclusion, Jessica had to take some big leaps and make assumptions that were not obviously linked in my mind, but she got there!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me- because it was able to surprise me, I enjoyed reading it, and I’m a Michigander ☺️

As a side note- Jessica is a great baker and makes unique tattoo cakes everyone loves. I think I would be into reading a book all about that yummy storyline!

Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for my gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review. Release date 11/5/21.

This book sounded like it was going to be great..
It just felt off to me the writing just didn't pull me in. And constant senerios of who did it from the main character were getting repetitive and boring.
I did finish this book..but it had no wow factor.

Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.

This book was unputdownable! This book follows the narrative of jessica as she attempts to uncover who in her neighbourhood is trying to sabotage her attempt at uncovering the truth as to why her neighbor died. The use of the app with the threatening messages was an excellent way to make the story speed up with excitement. I found it to be perfectly paced and with a satisfying ending. Cant wait to read more from this author.

• Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for providing this Advance Reading Copy. Expected publication date is November 5, 2021.

The beautiful upscale Michigan suburb of Ridgeview Pines has everything a family could ask for. They even have a community message board. One of the families is less than desirable in the neighborhood. After all three members of that family die under mysterious circumstances the neighbors start talking. In my opinion, this book was a decent mystery but fell short of being a “thriller”. I finished this book but never really felt pulled into the story.

Jessica and Mark live in a posh aread called Ridgeview Pines with their daughter Isabelle. Whilst she is out walking the dog one night she sees her neighbour waving her hands at the window. Thinking it is aimed at her walking her dog she dismisses it until the next day her neighbour is found drowned in the bath.
It is classed as accidental death but her son says it wasn't. Jessica soon becomes obsessed with finding out the truth. I did become a bit annoyed at the character portrayed by Jessica at times as she made problems for herself all the time. On saying that I did enjoy the twist at the end of the book and would read it again.

Jessica had purchased the house she grew up in with her husband and little daughter. When her next door neighbor dies after what the police says was a tragic accident, Jessica isn’t so sure and begins investigating even though her family and friends insist she must leave it alone. I thought this turned out to be a very good mystery.

Moving back to her childhood home should have been a great experience, but suddenly things start going wrong. Her mother acts strangely, so does her husband, and best friend. The weird woman in the neighbourhood dies. Then her weird son dies. A lot is going on, including murder.

This is an intriguing story with several twists and turns. You do not know whom to trust, and you question everything you know. You do everything to protect your child, but do you know who is out there to hurt your family? It is one of those books you need to finish fast, because you need to know what is going on.

One time read.
Jessica lives with her husband Mark and daughter, Isabelle. One night while walking her dog, Jessica watched someone in her neighbour, Barbara Draper's house. Barbara Draper was found murdered. Then cryptic messages starts to appear on Jessica's mobile one after another. Who killed Barbara and what they want from Jessica? The entire story revolves around it. Although everyone is hiding their secrets. Someone in Jessica's family too. Read this book and find out.
I loved the characters of Jessica, Mark, and Sophie.
Told from a single POV's of Jessica, this story is a one time read for me because I've read such kind of books before. Although the author's fans are definitely going to love it.
What I Like? :-
1 The premise. The story made a promise with its premise and fully stands on it.
2 Narration. Narration was simple and intresting.
3 The ending. I didn't guess it.
What I Don't Like?:-
1 Some chapters made me feel bored. I didn't want to know who killed Barbara. Jessica was more interested in finding the truth than the police.
Overall it's a one time read with interesting narration and premise. Give it a go.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advanced copy of this psychological thriller.

'We live next door'... This means you often only live a few meters from the people in the house next or in front of yours, but what do you know about them?

Not very much. You only know what they want to reveal and often you conclude things on what you see, but do you ever know someone really? Even the people you have known for years or live under the same roof often manage to surprise you after all this time. Some are pleasant revelations, others not so much.

Then of course there are the nosy ones and aren’t we lucky sometimes they are the way they are? They see, hear everything or want to delve into something until they know every last detail. Believe it or not they bring justice or force the police to dig deeper too.

Jess is like a dog with a bone and isn’t easily scared away. When it seems like her world is tumbling down and the danger is creeping closer to home, she is like a lioness. She fights with all she has in her. It seems like she is losing the battle until someone arrives to fight her corner…

The more I read, the more I got immersed in the story. It started like a soft breeze, but soon I found myself in a storm. I had not one single inkling what to expect, but I most certainly did not expect this ending. It was brilliant. 5 stars

Thank you

This is the story of Jessica and Mark Millstone, who are raising their daughter, Isabelle, in the fancy suburb of Ridgeview Pines. They live in the house that Jessica grew up in; she stays at home with their toddler and he’s in finance. Her mom is close by (for better or worse) and they have a private neighborhood park where all the moms go to gossip while the kiddos play. Life is good, until…

One night, Jessica is walking the dog past her neighbor Barbara’s house, when she sees the cranky old woman in the window. It looks like she’s yelling something while trying to get the window open. Barbara is constantly yelling at people to get off her yard, clean up their dog’s poop, shut up their screaming kids, etc., and not wanting a confrontation, Jessica quickly heads home. The next morning, she finds out Barbara is dead, having apparently slipped in the bathtub not long after Jessica saw her in the window.

The police have called this an accidental death, but Jessica wonders if there is more to the story. Barbara’s son, Phil, seems to be a prime suspect, but so do many other people. Barbara wasn’t very popular, and she had issues with a lot of people in town. Jessica starts digging, and that makes someone very angry.

Soon, Jessica is getting anonymous threatening messages on Neighbor List (an app that is obviously and hilariously modeled after Nextdoor) and she feels like her daughter is in danger after several “accidents” that don’t make sense. But why would someone be going to these lengths to hurt her? Is there a killer in her own neighborhood?

I enjoyed the whole book, though I will say the ending was slightly weak and predictable. The characters were decent, it was relatively fast-paced and I really liked the story as a whole. Aside from the minorly lackluster ending, I found the book very entertaining and I loved the parts about the app - I actually wouldn’t have minded more of those. This gets a solid four stars from me.

(Thank you to Bookouture, Laura Wolfe and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review.)

Jessica’s family lives in her childhood home in what is normally a tranquil safe neighborhood. Except two deaths, mishaps with her daughter, and threatening messages have her rethinking their move. I felt twitchy while reading this book. I wanted to know who was behind all the bad stuff. I zeroed on one character, but it wasn’t until almost the that the truth is revealed. The ending is a nice touch. Otherwise my advice was get the heck out of there.

Domestic suspense is always hit or miss with me, but I'm glad to report this was a hit! WE LIVE NEXT DOOR had that Desperate Housewives vibes that made the story juicy and salacious but still believable. If you live in a neighborhood, you know they all have secrets...but it seems the more upscale and affluent neighborhoods have the best secrets--the ones worth killing over.

There's a lot going on in this book, but the main storyline centers around the death of Barbara Draper, the neighbor no one likes. She yells at dogs, leaves terrible reviews about local businesses, and is always posting complaints on the Neighbor app. So when she drowns in her bathtub, no one is grieving. No one even thinks her death is suspicious except for Jessica, who thinks she saw something the night Barbara died.

There is a huge twist at the halfway mark that will leave you reeling! If you love suspense and are secretly suspicious of your neighbors, especially the too perfect ones, this is definitely the book for you!

Loved, loved, loved it! WE LIVE NEXT DOOR promises the moon and then delivers. From a great cast of characters that leaves you guessing who “dunnit”, to the flawless storytelling and relatable neighborhood setting (although this is quite the neighborhood) the story keeps you hooked down to the very last twist! Not to be missed!

Well this book had everything the author could throw at it! Spooky night walks, strange neighbours, moody teen, caring babysitter (as if!), secrets, lies, hints of an affair, strange events, loads of red herrings and more!

The premise of this book was good, and the author delivered in many ways. Although everyone appeared to be a suspect it was clear early on who was behind the murders and the reveal by Grandma near the end did tie everything up.

This was a romping good read and I did enjoy it, apart from the repetition. I appreciate there has to be a word count in a book, but the constant going over what the protagonist, Jessica, was thinking was too much. Fewer words, more action needed. I would still recommend, but a good editing would work wonders and make this a 5* read.

Thank you NetGalley.

Overall, I enjoyed reading We Live Next Door. There were parts that were a bit slow; however, the various twists and reveals kept me wanting to keep reading. I actually was not able to predict the majority of the twists, which was really nice. A lot of the thrillers I've read lately have been a bit predictable. The use of The Neighbor List throughout the book was interesting. I would definitely recommend We Live Next Door to anyone looking for a page-turning thriller.

Jessica lives with her husband and their three year old daughter in a nice small town. They live in her family home which they bought from Jessica’s Mum. We meet Jessica walking their dog for an evening stroll. Jessica loves those late walks. But something is not right on that particular night. She senses something in the bushes at her neighbor’s house. But maybe it is just a raccoon. When she looks up she sees her neighbor standing at the top window and looking disapprovingly at her. When Jessica hurries home she thinks she hears her neighbor scream. But she is known for her bad temper so Jessica assumes she just shouts at her for walking on her lawn. But the next day they learn that the neighbor is dead. It appears to be death by a freak accident. Jessica soon gets obsessed with the idea that it was not an accident. She is sure it was murder.

Well, that was an entertaining read. Jessica is a stay at home mom but obviously she has too much time on her hand even if she claims she has not. Her husband wants her to go back to work but Jessica has that dream to open a bakery. She loves to bake and she has a unique idea for decorating her cakes. But her husband seems to be a completely jerk because he says it is an unsure business idea and she should stick to her old job. Jessica is clearly not fully stretched because she puts a lot of time into the idea that there is a murderer on the loose in their neighborhood. Jessica is a bit weird and paranoid and she is the weak point in this story. She is not a very compelling character and I almost rooted for the idea that she was losing her mind. But the story is well told and all the characters are interesting and unique. There are a lot of red herrings and although I had some ideas I did not guess the ending. Maybe the story will not stay for long in my mind but it was a quick and entertaining read.
