Spring is here, and it’s time for a Dino holiday. I loved this book- the story is cute and it flows really well. The illustrations were bright and engaging. This book is great for all kids.

The dinos are ready for Easter. They pick bouquets of flowers, have an egg painting party, pet farm animals, visit a chocolate factory, and hide eggs.
Carolrhoda Books and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It will be published on February 1st.

Raptor loves eggs and tries to eat them as they get them ready for Easter. They tell him to stop, but when the Easter hunt starts, he fills his basket and then eats his eggs until he finally takes a nap.

This is a well illustrated book with dinos who are cute. There is lots of activities to hold little ones attention. It's a fun read.

Lisa Wheeler continues her series of holiday books featuring Dinosaurs (there are ten others that are sports themed). Other holiday books include Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. This Easter themed book uses many different dinosaurs doing activities for the holiday like; enjoying flowers, dying eggs, Easter-egg hunting, participating in a parade etc. The colorful pictures and rhyming words are the draw for these books. Also using the names or nick-names Stego/Stegosaurus add to learning about the different types of dinosaurs, These books are very popular in my elementary school library and I already have this book on orders, The only oddity was the ending where the Dinos were looking forward to Valentines. It might be the next book but it doesn't follow calendar wise. Thank you NetGalley and the author for allowing me to read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun Easter and Dinosaur themed story!

Likes:
-Included many different dinosaur types and names and nicknames (Diplo for Diplodocus)
-Showcased different Spring/Easter activities and concepts such as egg dying, flower bouquets, baby animals, hiding/hunting eggs, candy, and a parade.
- Funny parts of the book included T-Rex needing help reaching for items when egg dying and a raptor constantly trying to eat eggs.
-Many different themed verbs: croak, sing, blossom, boil, cook, paint, peel, eat, hide, place, tuck, find, spot, hug, bite, etc.
-The rhyming makes the story flow so nicely.
-The illustrations were gorgeous!

Dislikes:
-I was a bit confused at the end when the dinos dream about Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day would have already passed and it seems like it would make more sense to dream about an upcoming holiday like Halloween or Thanksgiving rather than one that was months before. It didn't runit the story but it just seemed out of order.

Overall, a great thematic story that is perfect for introducing Easter/Dino vocabulary and concepts to young children (preschool-2nd grade)

Thank you to NetGalley, Lerner Publishing Group, and the Author and Illustrator for the opportunity to read and review this book before it's publication date! This in no way affected my review, opinions are my own.

My preschooler gave this 100 thumbs up! Dino-Easter boasts bright, colorful drawings and a cast of dinosaur characters that extends beyond the usual suspects.

The nod to Willy Wonka with Pachy's Uncle Greer, "a very famous chocolatier," is a fun allusion for parents and big kids alike.

The story incorporates some fun vocabulary words to discuss with kids, too, such as "menagerie" and "spats".

The first time I read it aloud I waffled between trying to sing it to the tune of "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" and just reading the rhymes, but on the second read-through, I was able to sign-song it to the song in honor of "Peter Clobbertail" from the book.

Many of the rhymes are written so that your emerging reader can supply the final word in each couplet.

The book ends on thoughts of Valentine's Day, which is looking back in the calendar instead of forward to the next holiday. I guess it's a way to reminisce about the bigger holiday preceding Easter, but I would have liked to see it either sticking with Easter or looking forward to the next holiday.

Dino-Easter by Lisa Wheeler is a children's fiction picture book written in rhymes throughout. It is about a community of dinosaurs getting ready for the Easter holiday. I liked how it was educational as well with certain facts about different dinosaurs thrown in occasionally. I found it to be inspirational that so many kinds of dinosaurs and animals were all community oriented and lived amongst each other in a loving environment. The illustrations were amazing and overall I loved this book. I recommend to all librarians as well as parents looking for quality books for the children! I will purchase this book for my library!

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for an arc of Dino-Easter!

I wanted to like this one, but I honestly found it too long. It didn't hold my attention or my kids' attention.

This is a hugely popular series in my elementary library. I love the rhyming text and wonderful illustrations. These books do not stay on my shelves long at all.

This was a cute book. I enjoyed the story written by Lisa Wheeler. Her use of rhyming was fun and not distracting in any way. I loved Barry Gott’s illustrations. The illustrations are colorful and fun. I especially loved the small tie in with Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I received an electronic ARC from Lerner Publishing Group through NetGalley.
Wheeler's dinosaur holiday series is a delight. The latest entry is full of fun, joy and humor as the dinos prepare for Easter. I love the running theme of Raptor eating the eggs, and young readers will appreciate the feeling of eating too many late in the book. Gott's brightly colored illustrations capture the energy and help readers identify the various types of dinosaurs included in the fun. A couple of the rhymes will take a second try to get the meter but overall the entire book reads well . A terrific read aloud for classes or families. Wheeler always gives a hint of the next book to come in the series so I"m looking forward to it as well.

The pictures are very colorful and vivid. I got this for my dino obsessed niece, we read it on my phone via the NetGalley shelf app, it's a scroll read but my niece didn't mind seeing the next page while still on another page. I like that this book teaches different types of dinos, but also flowers, on one page it list some flowers which can help you start a conversation with you kid about flower types. I also like that the author had some "normal" animals mixed into the dino world, some sheep the same page as dinos was too cute! There are some harder words that some younger kids might struggle with (bouquet, menagerie). The dinos go clothes shopping and a T-Rex in a top hat, made my niece giggle.

A silly fun romp for the family of any dinosaur loving child. This picture book was an instant hit with my two year old son. The text was delightful and fun with the sort of rhyming verse my son loves. The illustrations were silly, dynamic and filled with humor. There were colorful dinosaurs doing silly Easter things, and even wearing clothes, And, of course, Raptor was the highlight of the story.

We had a lot of fun reading this story together. There were lots of giggles and it was requested multiple times.

5 stars.

This was really cute. The illustrations and rhyming were really enjoyable and great for Dino nicknames! It was a bit on the longer side though but that isn’t bad.

4.5 stars. A rhyming book celebrating all the preparation for Easter, the fun activities of the day, and the joys of spring.

What I liked:

--The story is told in rhyme and it's done well. The meter flows consistently and I didn't find many tripping points for reading aloud. The vocabulary is lively and expressive.
--There's a nice variety of dinosaurs featured, which will please kids fascinated with dinos.
--The illustrations are bright, colorful, and detailed. Kids will find them appealing and engaging.
--The thread of Raptor's compulsion to eat the eggs is funny.

Concerns I had:

--It runs a bit long for pre-K kids. They may start squirming before the story ends.
--The dinosaur names are shortened without explanation (Stego, Diplo, Minmi) which may confuse kids.
--The book ends with anticipation of Valentine's Day, which always comes before Easter.

Overall, this looks like a great prospect and I will definitely try it out with my preschool classes!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

My 3yo son is OBSESSED with dinosaurs. Thanks to the same people who created the Baby Shark craze (Pinkfong), he knows so many proper names for almost every dinosaur. When he found the Dino book series, it was immediate love. Dinosaurs that love all of the same holidays and sports as my son? There was no question that we had to add these stories to our home library.

This series is amazing. Each story has all of the dinosaurs celebrating something new or playing a new sport. Each story is set to a cadence that both of my kids love to listen to (and for my daughter to point out the rhyming words) Santa will be bringing my son some of the sports that the dinos play (soccer and baseball are 2 he has just started). We already own all of the holiday's we celebrate (Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas) and now a new book is coming out on February 1st in time for the dinos to celebrate Easter!

This time around, all of the dinosaurs are celebrating the Easter holiday together, with all of the best Easter family traditions. My absolute favorite part of the story was the poor T-Rex and his tiny arms. I am not ashamed to say I laughed out loud at his part of the story!

You can preorder this book now!! Thank you so much to the publisher for an early digital copy for review. I can’t wait to add this book to our collection.
