I downloaded and read this ten years ago. Much of what was in there I didn't want to admit to. But looking back, I can see how emotional eating is exactly what I was doing. I'm at a point in my life now where I think this book deserves another read through.

As someone who has had lifelong struggles not just with weight but with my relationship with food and setting emotional boundaries, I feel like I was the perfect target audience for this book. I found parts of it really concrete, interesting and helpful and then some parts of it really missed the mark for me. Quizzes, journaling prompts and Emotional Freedom Technique I found were quite helpful. As were parts focusing on self-love.

Parts of the book fell flat for me. I guess I wanted more of a deep dive into some concepts. And more focus on building a healthy relationship with food. And some parts of it felt inaccessible for an average reader. (access to "healthy" food as described by the book can be quite pricey)

Overall it was an interesting reading experience and I think folks who fall into the category described in the title would/could find some useful tools in it.

Thankful to NetGalley and Crown Publishing Group, for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Interesting premise for reasons for eating. I’m currently binging on French vanilla slices, so apart from loving the taste, I now have to note the emotional piques that confront me. A bit different to the usual Eat, Pray, Love type weight advice book for those wanting a thoughtful approach

Food for thought for emotional eaters. It's a good book which is perhaps a little repetitive in places but on the whole a good read.

Thank you for the opportunity to read Weight Loss for People Who Feel Too Much. Unfortunately, I did not download the book before it was archived in November 2014. I do not plan to finish the book.

I just realized I never reviewed this.

Even now, 6_ years later I refer back to this often. I AM a person who feels too much, and I struggle with weight loss. I have for the last 10 years. I don't know that Ill ever "win" my battle, but this book is really good for people like me. This book really helps you to dig into why you do the things you do with regards to eating. Maybe its time for me to re-read this book again.

This was a unique spin on healthy eating and the eventual weight loss. Focusing on the mental/emotional aspects instead of the physical and it also encourages healthy habits. It also doesn't body shame.

For the right person, this book may be of great help. If you don't fit into who this book is trying to address and help then it's not the most interesting read. If you are an emotional eater though then I recommend this book.
