This book was the perfect book to bring me out of a reading slump. It was great escapism that was light hearted and fun and made me laugh. It is a rom-com with Cinderella vibes, which I really enjoyed. It had terrific characters, especially the 32 year old lead, Francesca and told of her relationships and friendships. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this delightful novel.

I adored this book! Our main character Frankie is hired as a temporary personal assistant for a 5 day assignment and finds herself working for a celebrity singer as they travel to Italy for an event. Frans job is making sure nothing prevents the singer from getting to the exclusive Crystal Ball on time.

I really enjoyed this book. It was entertaining and enjoyable.

Francesca takes on a temporary personal assistant job for a top secret client, even though it means five days away from her clingy boyfriend. The client turns out to be a pop diva on her way to a charity ball, where's she's scheduled to perform. When Fran sneaks into the ball, she meets up with a tall, dark, and handsome stranger. She's forced to confront some hard truths about her life—and how she prioritizes everyone else's happiness over her own. Can she find the courage to choose the life she wants for herself?

I absolutely adore Francesca. She's sweet and self-deprecating and loyal to a fault. She gets into some scrapes but it's all in good fun. Rom com and chick lit fans will love this book.

Fran works as a personal assistant, and she loves her work. When she lived in London, there were all sorts of opportunities for work, but since she has moved to Sheffield, she barely finds enough work temping. So when one of the agencies she works with tells her about a fabuous opportunity to temp as a PA to a star for five days, Fran knows she has to go for it.

Juliette is such a mega star that she needs no last name, and is slated to sing at an ultra exclusive event called the Crystal Ball. With a little help and some really bizarre circumstances, Fran gets to attend the ball and meets a charming man who she has instant chemistry with, but they agree to have just one evening of fun together without giving out last names or personal information.

This was such a fun story, and such a great journey to go on with Fran. We get to see her thrive and make mistakes, and get into crazy situations. Through it all, we really get a sense of who she is and what she really wants out of life. This book is a real celebration of the different relationships we have and which we need to let go of, and which we should shape into something different to be what we need.

I absolutely adored this book. This is the first story I’ve read by Lindsey Kelk, but it won’t be the last! Her graceful inner dialogue story telling that takes place in On a Night Like This is funny, entertaining, and vulnerable.
I’ve never been a big proponent of modern day retellings of fairy tales but this one was done so well and subtly enough that it worked!

Francesca is such a solid main character with flaws and grace and Evan is so so dreamy. Kelk’s story telling reminds me of a mix between Josie Silver and a Sophie Cousens.

This was a great book that I just wanted to hug when I was done!

An enjoyable read!

While I thought this book took a liiiiiittle too long to get to the actual romance and was disappointed with the lack of smut, I understood why it was crafted that way. The main character's journey is an important one, and I believe the book does a great job in doing her justice!

All I can say is, who doesn’t love a Cinderella story! It’s a modern day fairytale that won’t let you down and will leave you wanting more.

Fran is feeling trapped in her small town life where nothing seems to excite her- her boring series of temp jobs and her lackluster relationship with her fiancé of 3 years. So she jumps at the opportunity to temp in London for 5 days- except she finds herself on yacht in Italy as a personal assistant for one of the world's biggest celebrities and nothing is boring anymore. Fran's life is turned upside down at the glamourous and adventurous world she's thrown into... including a handsome stranger she quite literally bumps into.

This story was full of emotion, laugh out loud moments and great character development. I enjoyed all the characters and appreciated the growth that Fran experienced over the course of the story. I also loved the romance elements as well as the nod to Cinderella. Wish the story was a little steamier but oh well. The pop culture references were hilarious!

I'm a newbie to the British RomCom writings of Kelk.

On a Night Like This was full of hi-jinx, humor and romance. Fran's happiness has been smothered by an awful relationship, until she lands a mysterious job for 5-days in London. Over the course of the week, she has more fun than she had in 12-years. New friends, travel and a tall, dark handsome stranger cruise into her life forcing her to question her happiness.

Can she take the leap to embrace these new found feelings and a chance for real LOVE...I throughly enjoyed this story, and Evan, you stole my heart. On a Night Like This is a BINGE worthy read.

On a night like this by Lindsey Kelk reminded me of a mixture between Cinderella and Caraval series. I don't think the Caraval series was what was intended.

The ball scenes just were very mysterious like and intriguing to read about.

I liked the plot though the romance could have actually.done without for this book. I wasn't hooked on the romance but I liked how Fran got to be friends with Jess.

I was immediately suspicious of her fiance from the start but I'm glad their storyline was how it was. Trying not to spoil that.

This book was a four star rating due to the plotline and the pacing. I was able to finish this in one day.

Fran is like Cinderella at the ball!

Francesca Cooper wanted to change her life by taking a temporary assistant job for a very important person out of the country for a few days. Fran wasn’t expecting to be assisting her favorite singer Juliette while she was performing at the famous Crystal Ball. But she decided to sneak into the ball but running into Evan at the ball changed everything.

On a Night Like This was like a Cinderella at the ball story with Juliette as the fairy godmother when Fran met Evan then ran away from the ball to catch her ride home, but everything is right in the end because Fran and Evan get together because it’s a good romance!

I enjoyed this book but do not know if I would immediately peg it as a romance. The description was a bit misleading as the Crystal Ball does not start until 50% into the book and seemed to be more of a coming of age tale for a 32 year old woman realizing what she truly wants out of her life and that she needs to make a change. I did like Fran and how snarky she could be and that she did grow as a character to become a more mature woman by the end. The romance with Evan does not define her as a person but only enhances what she wants out of life. I personally got a kick from the acknowledgments as I did not recognize the author as a podcaster who works with others I follow on Instagram. If you are looking for a straight romance, try something else first but if you want a woman-focused comedy with some romantic angles, pick this up.

A modern-day Cinderella tale, complete with a pop princess, yacht, borrowed underwear, and rich people behaving badly! I found myself enchanted with the story from beginning to end.

The love interest took awhile to show up, but I wasn’t even mad about it, because reading about Fran dealing with Juliette’s shenanigans was so entertaining. The romance took a back seat to Fran’s journey of always putting herself last to first.

I fell head over heels in love with this modern Cinderella retelling. I know it's a cliche, but I really did stay up way past my bedtime reading, haha. I'm usually in bed by 9 pm and I was up until almost midnight (on a WORK NIGHT) reading "one more chapter" until I'd, er, finished the entire book. Oops! I read this all in one big gulp in one evening because I could NOT put it down!

Fran immediately captured my heart, and I wanted better for her than her rather horrible fiancé, Stew. This book focuses as much on Fran's development, growth and realization that she's unhappy with the way her life is and needs to change it up as it does on the romance storyline. It leans a little more chick-lit than romance, but still has enough beautiful romance elements in it that I didn't mind. The side characters were also all really amazing, and everyone from Juliette to Jess to Sarah really came to life. Apparently, Rachel is the main character in another book (The Single Girl's To-Do List) and I loved her so much I clearly had to buy her book! I highly recommend this fun, light, sweet and flirty rom-com. It's a beautiful journey and I hope, like Fran, you take the leap.

After reading On a Night Like This I immediately went and looked up Lindsey Kelk's backlist and bought two of her other books, and added two more to my wishlist. If that's not a high recommendation for a book, I don't know what is! This was my first book by Lindsey Kelk, but I'm so excited to read more.

For a romance book, this wasn't all that romance-y.

On a Night Like This tells the story of Fran Cooper, a perpetual assistant who is in between jobs and is engaged to possibly one of the worst men ever. After spur of the moment phone call with a recruitment agency, Fran gets roped into being an assistant to a mega-famous popstar who is suppose to preform at the event of the year, the Crystal Ball. After some mishaps, Fran gets the chance to go to the ball herself for a magical night.

When I think about how I feel about this book, I kind of just want to shrug. I don't have strong feelings about much of it, except maybe anger towards some of the characters, but even that is muted. I just overall felt detached from the book. I didn't feel swept up in the magic like other readers might have.

This book is listed as a romance but the romance is barely there. It's a love at fight sight Cinderella type love that just felt really unfulfilling to me. I have a strong belief that if I can't tell who the main love interest is by halfway through, it's not a romance.

The characters were boring and Fran let everyone walk all over her, even up to the end of the book. This is not a book I am going to remember much about afterwards because it just didn't have a huge, or any, impact on me.

I generally love almost all books by Lindsey Kelk, and this is no exception. I loved the story of Fran and how she finally stood up for herself and became the person she wanted to be. The characters in this were mostly likeable and the plot development was great. Another great Lindsey Kelk Romance!

EEP! I loved this book! I’m a huge sucker for fairytale retellings, but haven’t ever really enjoyed a Cinderella one. This book was absolutely perfect though. At times I wanted to scream with frustration or shake poor Fran to make her see the truth of things, but honestly it was perfect as is. Fran’s character development was phenomenal, and altogether realistic. I definitely enjoyed the romance in this book, but Fran as a character was more than enough to make me give this book 5 stars. I loved how the author ended the story and wrapped everything up.
