I really wanted to like this book more than I did. First off, it was too long and too wordy. Lulu is a dog (probably a pug) and when she sees her owners dancing, she wants to dance too. However, the dance instructor thinks this is not possible. So Lulu sneaks off to a dog dancing academy to make her dreams come true. Overall, the story is cute, but not one I would sit down to read frequently.

MY REVIEW
Lulu the Unstoppable Dancing Dog by Marie Dimitrova was a cute bright colorful book about a pug who wanted to learn how to walz and dance with it's humans. Along the way through the book the kids are suppose to count how many bones they find while Lulu goes on a journey to learn to dance.

Lulu the dancing dog is such an adorable book. Lulu is a dog who dreams of ballroom dancing but she keeps being told that dogs don’t dance. Not only are the story & illustrations cute, but it also has a great message for children. It’s important to never give up on your dreams!

Another beautiful history for children related to dance. I loved all these new books teaching children to love dance. This history, it's about a dog wanting to dance waltz-like her owners, teaching about perseverance and the importance of practice to reach any goal. I'll recommend this book to my little students. It's a short and cute book for every Little dance lover.

Lulu is a pug who lives in New York City with her family, Belle and Doug. Although Lulu's favorite place serves pizza, she becomes interested in the dance classes that Belle and Doug are taking. Determined to dance, will Lulu give her time and attention to becoming the best dancing dog she can be?

Children will be able to relate to Lulu's struggles, especially when she does not put in the necessary practice. This children's book shows how hard work and determination can help dreams come true. With whimisical illustrations by Romi Caron, the story is told both visually and through text. The author and illustrator work well together, bringing to life a bustling city with an improbable dancing dog. The only thing that does not seem to fit in the story is the emphasis on pizza. As the plot is supposed to be about learning to dance, I really did not see how it fit in except for showing the environment around Lulu. Overall, children who love dogs and dance will enjoy reading Lulu the Unstoppable Dancing Dog.

Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy of Lulu the Unstoppable Dancing Dog by the NetGalley, the publisher, Greenleaf Book Group Press, and the author, Marie Dimitrova. The decision to read and review this children's book was solely my own.

Lulu wants to learn to waltz like her owners Belle and Doug. When their dancing instructor insists that dogs can't dance, Lulu finds Stu, a dog instructor to teach her. This book has a great message about practicing hard if you want to succeed, a lesson Lulu learns the hard way, and if you practice nothing is impossible. I loved the illustrations in this book and the interactive game, which will keep young readers even more invested in the story.

Lulu the pug lives every dog's dream in New York City with her two adoring people, Bella and Doug.  They take walks, visit museums, see shows and eat at Lulu's favorite restaurant, Joey's pizza.  When Lulu watches Bella and Doug dance, she wants to waltz like them too, but pugs aren't built to dance.  Lulu finds her own doggie dance teacher, but she has to keep practicing.  Instead, Lulu keeps getting sidetracked by pizza.  Lulu has to put in the work in order to show everyone that dogs can dance too.

Lulu the Unstoppable Dancing Dog is a fun and inspiring story about sticking with it and reaching for your goals.  Lulu is a fun and lovable character. Even though she is a dog, she faces the same trials in learning a new skill as everyone else.  Lulu's determination and passion for learning how to dance shines through.  However, Lulu's story turns out to be extremely relatable as she forgoes practice in favor of pizza.  With amazing illustrations, Lulu seems to dance off the page.  Lulu's message of skill building, determination and practicing to succeed will ring true with readers ages 4-9.

Lulu loves to dance and she won't let the naysayers stop her!

This is an adorable book with really fun illustrations about Lulu the pug who is determined to dance her heart out. The lesson the follow your dreams even when others doubt you is so important for kids to hear repeatedly in their formative years. I can't wait to read it to my son!

There is a step-by-step guide at the end to learn how to draw Lulu, which gives additional appeal to slightly older readers.

Lulu loves her people and she loves to dance. Lulu watches her caretakers dance and she wants to get in the act and compete. However, she is told that dogs do not dance. It is pure determination that she learns to dance. It is love that compels us, including dogs. This sweet story will capture your child's heart and compel love to drive them.

There are many lessons in Lulu's story and it will become a favorite.

A special thank you to Greenleaf Book and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Great book, with a great storyline and cute and colourful illustrations too!
Follows the story of a dog who wanted to learn to dance but was told she couldn't and that dogs don't dance.
Well she proved that if you put your mind to something, anything is possible.

I recieved a copy of this through NetGalley in exchange of an honest review.

This is about Lulu's the dog who after attending dance lessons with her humans decides she wants to dance as well! It was such a cute and silly book unfortunately it did not hit the mark for me and my kids. It was just a little too long and drawn out and my kids lost attention quickly. I found myself stopping the book to wrangle them rather than enjoying the story.

I now feel that I need a Lulu in my life! I loved this book!. Marie Dimitrova tells such a fun and engaging story. I thought the underlying themes of practice and not giving up on your dreams were great. I also had a lot of fun with the search that was included in the story. And the learn to draw at the end was a fun thing to include. Overall, this was an excellent story and the illustrations were beautiful. Would recommend to a friend.

So this book was extra loved in my house. My mom has a fawn pug and they just loved seeing a dog that looked like their Grandma's dog. Plus a dog learning to dance is so cute. It was such a great story about persevering despite being told you can't do something. Then it shows the importance of practice. That is a lesson that is hard to learn as a young kid. It showed that you can want to do something but if you don't practice and try then it will be hard to succeed.

This story was fairly ridiculous and silly being about a dancing dog. So, of course, my two year old son loved it. Dogs wearing tutus and sneaking out to attend secret dance lessons. Of course a toddler would love that!

This story about a dog who wants to enter dance competitions along with her humans. The true heart and purpose of this tale is that it takes hard work to succeed even when you have a passion and a talent for something. Lulu the dog fails and faces embarrassment and ridicule before she understands how important it is to practice and work hard for what she wants.

I appreciated the message about it taking hard work to succeed. I don't see very many children's books that emphasize this so it filled a gap in the messaging I want my child to absorb.

While the initial premise of this story was pretty ridiculous the lesson it imparts is very needed and a good one. My son enjoyed this for the art and the pure silliness of it and I was happy that he was getting a valuable message while being entertained.

A final note, this story seems to be aimed at slightly older children than my own toddler. I think he will appreciate it more as he ages. The prime age for this story is likely around six years old dependent on the child. My son is two and he still enjoys it. It is silly and fun and holds his attention but he is an avid reader just like his mom and I expect this is one he will grow to love more as he gets older.

Five stars.

Thank you #netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I personally did not enjoy this book. I found it to be boring. I'm not sure what kids would think of it. I guess there was just nothing about this book that stood out to me. No humor... there was a good moral, but what is that when there's no joy in the book, and nothing special supporting the morals? Even the pictures just didn't stand out. I really wanted to like this book more than I did.

A child’s attention span is their age times two. The unstoppable dancing dog missed the mark by being too long winded. It is a cute idea but kids books need to be short, rhythmic and quick witted. This book has beautiful potential with a draw of dancing dogs but drags! Less words plz!

Free ARC from Netgalley.

Lulu the pug comes to her humans dance lessons, and wants to learn how to waltz as well. So she goes to an underground dog dance studio to learn.

This looked so much cuter than it was. Unfortunately. The book had too much text, felt like overexplaining. And the art is not as cute as it looks. Could've been so much cuter!

This was a cute story about Lulu, a dog who wants to learn how to dance.

After a dance teacher tells Lulu that dogs can't dance, Lulu seeks out her own teacher. She and Stu, another dancing dog, get to it. However, she is thwarted in her efforts by distractions. Eventually, Lulu and Stu give a showstopper performance.

While this was super cute and I really enjoy stories of perseverance, I struggled a bit with Lulu's motivations. Sometimes it felt like she just wanted to dance to prove to other people that she could, and I'm not sure I love that message. She becomes distracted with pizza, which can happen to anyone, let's be honest. But, I would have preferred that Lulu had looked more internally about why she wanted to dance.

Overall, cute story for any aspiring dancers out there!
