A good personal development book for this day and age. I found it to be more helpful from a leader role vs. employee. It really showed how we as leaders can empower our teams to not only be seeking monetary promotions, but ways to expand and learn in their positions.

Julie does a great job reminding leaders that career development can be achieved in many ways. By tuning into the needs of the employee via her 8 C's model, the manager can keep the employee engaged, loyal and productive for years to come.

This book was a great read about career development. I would say the book is more focused on career developemnt than promotion. There is a short section at the end about promotions but the rest is how to help your employees and yourself.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy to honestly review.

Julie takes a long understood concept of promotions and blows that up to meet the needs (and expectations) of today's workforce. The content is timely and simple for leaders to grasp and apply to their development toolkits.
