[ARC REVIEW]
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pride and Prejudice but make it modern, and from Georgiana's POV.

I've never read Pride and Prejudice, tbh.
This was a very dramatic teenage love story, IMO
Lots of drama!
Real talk tho?! I hated Wickham.

Thank you to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for allowing me to read this story in exchange for an honest review.

A modern day retelling of Pride & Prejudice with a young adult audience in mind. Not terrible but not high on my list to recommend to others either.

I'm not the biggest fan of Pride and Prejudice, so maybe it wasn't a good decision to read a retelling but I honestly don't think it would have made a difference. I didn't care about the main character and the plot wad mediocre.

I was excited about this one, but unfortunately, it just wasn't for me. The story wasn't as compelling as I'd hoped, and I just found the plot to be lacking. It felt too unrealistic for me and the main character complained way too much. It was becoming difficult to read. The idea was great, but the execution wasn't the best in my opinion.

This book was fine. It was very much high levels of teenage drama with a heap of social anxiety and a smidge of romance and friendship growth.

I honestly could have stopped reading this at any point and been okay with the decision. There wasn't really anything that made me want to stick around to find out how things were going to go because it was pretty clear from the beginning exactly how everything was going to happen.

Overall a good YA book about finding out who you are and your place in the word.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

Synopsis: This book is a YA re-telling of Pride and Prejudice. Protagonist Georgiana Darcy is back for her junior year at Pemberley Academy boarding school where she has been socially exiled after an incident last year. During her sophomore year, Georgiana got in trouble at school due to her association with fellow student Wickham Foster, a known drug dealer at the school. Now that she’s back, she has to show her brother, her peers, and the school that she has changed. Can she turn things around and start over on the right foot?

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this fun Pride and Prejudice retelling! My favorite part of this book was watching Georgiana grow and mature as a person. I really liked seeing her character arc of transitioning from a more entitled, self-centered person into a mature, kind, inclusive person who tries to be a friend to all.

For Fans of: Pride and Prejudice, Retellings, Young Adult books, books set at boarding schools, Gossip Girl (books and tv series).

I’m always down for a prep school setting, YA novel but overall this Pride and Prejudice retelling just did not do it for me. Fitz was bizarrely protective over Georgie initially, protecting her like property. That toxic masculinity and patriarchal control is not my vibe. However the story did redeem itself with Georgie and Fitz growing a lot over the course of the story. I appreciated the journey.

Sincere thanks to NetGalley, St Martins Press, and Wednesday Books for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading Georgie Darcy's story. I'm not a huge Pride and Prejudice fan, but I know the basics and I loved how Lizzie and Fitz were woven in. This modern take on Georgie's life at Pemberly after a "scandal" with her ex-boyfriend Wickham was refreshing. I liked how vulnerable Georgie was and that we got to see the relationship between her and Fitz ebb and flow as situations arose.

I will read just about any YA retelling/spin on Pride and Prejudice and I love getting to dive deeper into Georgiana's story. The development of the character from a slightly spoiled but well-meaning girl to thoughtful friend and sister was done so wonderfully. Additionally, the development of the relationship between Georgiana and Fitz was very sweet. I really loved Avery as a character and love interest for Georgiana. Overall, a very enjoyable read full of wit and charm.

I found this to be an interesting sequel to Pride and Prejudice. I like how the story had a contemporary setting. I found all the characters to be very relatable and charming. Thus, this was a fun and delightful read. The story is sweet, simple, and humorous! I think this is a faithful to Jane Austen! I recommend this for for fans of Eligible, Being Mary Bennet, and Pride, Prejudice, and Other Flavors!

I love a good retelling, and Pride & Prejudice is one of my all time favorite books. So I was super stoked about this modern day reimagining from Georgie's perspective! Accomplished was a pleasure to read, and I loved seeing my old favorite characters navigating a modern setting. Georgie and Fitz's relationship was so sweet to watch, and I loved seeing them grow and evolve throughout the book. This story put into perspective that even today, far too much weight is often placed on women's "accomplishments", rather than just who we are as people.

A thoughtful and very enjoyable story all throughout!

ACCOMPLISHED by Amanda Quain is a fun remix on PRIDE & PREJUDICE, focusing on modern-day Georgiana Darcy, dealing with the aftermath of the Wickham scandal.

As a huge P&P and Austen fan, I was thrilled to receive this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review! I read every P&P and Austen retelling I can get my hands on, and this was a very unique, original take on the story, centering around Darcy's younger sister. Georgie is in high school - she's a trombone player, a fanfic writer, a quirky, well-developed, insecure teenager. I loved her! This was a fun story and I really enjoyed the P&P references. I wouldn't read this if you're expecting a P&P retelling per se -it's definitely a story all its own, with an original plot and cast of characters (with some we know and love!). Overall, a sweet and charming read.

I have to get my hands on any sort of Pride and Prejudice or Jane Austen retelling so I immediately requested an eARC for Accomplished by Amanda Quain. I loved that this story gave us Georgiana as the main character. It was different and fresh and I loved seeing things from her point of view.
The story itself is quite different from P&P which wasn't a bad thing! I like how Quain had the same characters, locations but really, the story was its own! Lots of fantastic tropes, high school young love and antics that I loved!

Pride and Prejudice, but:
• make it modern
• Georgiana is the main character
• it’s the story of Georgie rebuilding her life post-Wickham debacle
• it’s friendships
• it’s family
• it’s being a fanfic-writing trombone-playing teenage girl who is trying her best, okay?!

This was a fun and relatively quick read and I really enjoyed it.

I'd like to thank Netgalley and St. Martin's Press, Wednesday Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A modern day retelling of Pride and Prejudice....umm YES!!! This was a retelling of P&P but using Georgiana Darcy as the main character. Georgiana is the black sheep of the family and seems to always just mess everything up. Even when she tries to fix things and make things right with her brother she always seems to make things worse.

This book is full or drama. I liked that the problems she faced was real and it's what other teens might face in the real world. I feel like they would relate to Georgiana and her struggles with friends, family and boys.

When I found out that this was a Pride and Prejudice retelling focused on Georgiana Darcy, I was over the moon excited, as a die-hard Austen fan. In ACCOMPLISHED, Georgiana is a junior at Pemberley Academy as a junior and up to the task of rebuilding her reputation after an incident with Wickham. Now, Georgiana has to forget about Wickham, and get her brother’s focus away from her and into the eyes of one Lizzie Bennet. I found the writing good, and I did enjoy many moments of the story, that gave a nod to our favorite and beloved characters.

I thought it was a fun read that would be enjoyed by Austenites.

I could not finish this book. I made it to 35% of the way through. The main character was incredibly annoying and stupid with the decisions she was making. Normally characters like this are really fun to watch grow over the story but I hated this character so much, I did not believe that it would be possible for them to grow to a point that I would like them.

I was really excited about the prospect of a modern Pride and Prejudice from Georgiana’s point of view, but the writing style in this book just wasn’t right for me. I think I might like the original Pride and Prejudice too much to enjoy this modernized version, though I was definitely intrigued by Bingley as a frat boy.

I will read just about any Pride and Prejudice retelling so I was super excited about this story about Georgie Darcy. She doesn’t get a lot of attention in the original so I though this would be a cool take. Modern day retelling so are always interesting. Georgie and Wickham’s past made sense. I hated him. He completely used her and her crush on him for his own benefit and basically blackmailed her. I was with Darcy in hating him.
I loved how complicated Darcy and Georgie’s relationship was. I could see a lot clearer than Georgie how much her brother loved and wanted to take care of her. Them arguing over cup holders and making late night target runs was the cutest. They both could’ve handled stuff better. I think that was my biggest problem with this. Georgie just couldn’t see anything else besides her current problems. If she was just honest with her brother about Wickham from the beginning things would’ve been so different.
I like Avery’s character. He was very sweet to her and I think they worked well together. Their conflict/argument was interesting. I’m so glad someone finally told her she needed a better perspective. But some of what he said it almost seemed out of character. The end was cute.

I was really interested in this book - Pride and Prejudice is one of my all time favorite books, and I was excited to read a modern retelling told from Darcy's sister's POV. Unfortunately, the execution just wasn't for me. Honestly, if it weren't for the characters having the same names as in the original novel, this could have been literally any YA rom com book. I don't feel like any of the characters really embodied their original counterparts. I also felt like it was super weird how Georgie went to this exclusive private boarding school, but apparently no one else had any money and everyone hated her because she flaunted her money - like it just didn't make sense to me. She was also very frustrating for most of the book. She didn't really seem to have any growth whatsoever until the very end when it didn't really seem believable. I just felt this was kind of bland and I actually sort of hated that it was based on Pride and Prejudice because I didn't think any of the characters had anything to do with the original characters. Maybe I would have liked it better if it had nothing to do with Austen's work, but this this just didn't work for me.
