After reading A Perfect Marriage and loving it, I was giddy with excitement when I saw Geneva Rose was writing another book! This book is filled to the brim with drama and if you're a housewives fan, or just like to read about catty privileged women, then this one is for you! I flew through this book despite not loving many of the characters. I was not expecting the big twist and admittedly, I wish they had not used sex trafficking and children int he twist, but it was certainly a shock factor and I liked how the ending wrapped up!

So. Much. Drama. And in the best way. The women in this book are like the Real Housewives gone wrong. Their dynamic is wild. I really can’t believe “friendships” like this exist but i guess it would be like the mean girls in high school grew up and got rich. There are scandals and backstabbing left and right. But mostly all from one woman in the group who I loved to hate. She stomps all over everyone to get her way which would have me running the other direction in real life but in this book it was so deliciously entertaining.
Right off the bat they have back and forth power grabs. Which is just insane to think of in a friendship, fighting for who is the leader. It felt like Jax from Vanderpump Rules getting into arguments with everyone over who’s the number one guy in their group. Hint: if you have to forcefully yell at everyone about this, it’s not you.
I also really loved the beauty bar where they all hung out. I probably couldn’t afford to get a pinky toe painted in there, but it seemed like such a fun hang out, you know, if your friends weren’t all catty and calculated. But I would love to be a fly on the wall at a place like that. Which is basically what we’re getting with this book. Overall this was such a fun read and I gobbled it up. As a reality tv enthusiast, it was right up my alley.

Talk about frenemies! This small group are all grown women, and they fill the roles of each others’ best friends and worst enemies at exactly the same time.
The whole story is told in alternating chapters that jump between the characters leading up to the death, and with chapters of Jenny telling the police detective the whole story in between. Whom is actually dead is not revealed until nearly the end of the book. Most of the characters were loved or hated at different points of the story.
Shannon has been replaced in the heart (and home) of the politician by Crystal, a former bartender who was first his mistress before marrying him and trying to fill the large role Shannon had played in the community before being unexpectedly replaced.
Olivia definitely fancies herself the biggest puppeteer in Buckhead. She tells how she has made each of the women who they are, and how she plans to manipulate them next. Even the men associated with each woman play a role in the story, and how everyone expects it to go.
Overall, I gave this quirky mystery 3 out of 5 stars. I liked the writing style, although I did have to flip back to the beginning of a chapter a few times to remind myself of whose story I was in right then. It was a quick read with a "right" ending, in my opinion.

Selling Sunset meets Stepford Wives meets Real Housewives. If you like any of those shows, read this book. The non-stop drama and juicy gossip mixed with some murder makes for a fast-paced and entertaining read.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. It’s about a group of rich, gossipy, back stabbing women. But as you get to know them and more is revealed you see the deeper stuff going on. I loved that it was set in Buckhead and yes a lot of these women sound familiar ha ha.

Rating : 3.75 🌟
I went into this book blind, and I am so glad that I did. The book was full of solid mystery and evil in the best way! The story has multiple POVs and it mainly focuses on Jenny , who is the owner of the salon frequented by the elite Housewives of the town. The town is famous for women's society and it's a kind of ticket to have control and influence over the town. The women of this society are rich , spoiled and super plastic bitch , they don't care about anyone but themselves.
Some of the women are catty, and stuck up and there were a few that I didn’t like at all. The story goes between the present and a few weeks before a murder. ALSO We as the reader don’t know who is dead , just we know that someone is murder and interesting thing is the story has some victim's pov too. I was hooked from the very first page, and finished it very fast.
I had to know what was going on. Who died? And at the end when you think you know who got murdered by whom ..the last few pages will prove you wrong. I really didn't see it coming! The ending got me really good. I enjoy a good twist!
Thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for this eArc in exchange for my review!

One of Us Is Dead by Jeneva Rose
I was a big, big fan of Rose's first book - The Perfect Marriage. I still think about that ending, so I was super excited to read her newest thriller, One of Us Is Dead.
Y'all know that meme that says... "Is it me? Am I the drama? I don't think I'm the drama. Maybe I am." Well it's all I could think about the entire time I was reading because there is so much drama and I loved it. Maybe it's because I'm a pretty nosey person, so I loved getting all of these women's perspectives and secrets. The multiple POVs worked so so well in this novel.
I also loved that you obviously know someone died because of the present day chapters that are sprinkled in, but WHO?!? Not finding out until the last 5% of the book also worked. I guessed throughout, but it was always changing based on little comments here and there.
If you're a fan of a quick, fun, and twisty read then you should 100% pick this one up! 💋

I look forward to recommending this book to readers who love a good mystery, especially if it happens among the wealthy, pampered elite of society -- think Real Housewives. Fast-paced with intriguing characters and situations.

This book was fantastic! The plot never slowed down and it kept me intrigued from start to finish. Halfway through it really picked up speed as well and I couldn’t believe that ending either.

Not really my cup of tea, if you like Real Housewives type shows you might like this story of back stabbing and jealousy in a small, privileged town. Felt quite laboured to me, took a while to build up to the main event which then passed with little fanfare. Hard to warm to most of the characters.

This book is completely fun and escapist and enthralling. For fans of scripted television series like Desperate Housewives or Devious Maids, or devotees of reality TV like any Real Housewives franchise, ONE OF US IS DEAD is the type of book that may get "non-readers' back into appreciating contemporary fiction.
Jeneva Rose's account of the women of Buckhead, the "Beverly Hills of Atlanta" is WAY over-the-top, in a great way. Home base is a salon where the rich women are constantly spending money on making themselves beautiful, gossiping and gaining power and leverage over each other.
The villain, Olivia, is VERY over-the-top, so there were a couple scenes which took me a bit out of the story because she was so one-dimensional, but it was fun to root against her and encounter her jaw-dropping thoughts.
Very enjoyable and genuinely some surprising plot twists. I would read this author again- and also recommend the audio, it was very well done.

This title was not a good fit for me, and I do not share reviews of books I didn't enjoy, so my review will only be present on NetGalley.
I found the plot intriguing, and the time jumps definitely elevated the mystery. I felt that the ending lacked complete resolution, which I something I value in mysteries; I don't enjoy the loose threads not being tied up. I also had trouble distinguishing the narrator's as the point of view moved from woman to woman, as I found their voices too similar to easily differentiate.
As always, reading is incredibly subjective. Just because this wasn't a good fit for me doesn't mean it won't be a good fit for someone else. I hope this book finds its way to the perfect readers!

ONE OF US IS DEAD was a domestic thriller/mystery that brought unlikeable characters to life.
I was intrigued with the plot but found some of the twists to be underwhelming. I think the end could have been more fleshed out too, but overall an enjoyable read!
Thank you for the early copy!

One of Us Is Dead is the new Gossip Girl with a side of murder. I couldn't put this book down once I started. I was invested in every single character and had to know what happened next. Will read anything Jeneva Rose writes.

DNF @ 45%
I really wanted to love this book! I work the front desk at a salon and spa, so when I saw that one of the main characters was also a hairstylist I was giddy to read it (& hopefully be able to recommend the book to all of my coworkers) - but alas, that was not the case.
While I enjoyed Rose's writing, and will probably go backwards and pick up her first novel THE PERFECT MARRIAGE, I just couldn't motivate myself to pick this one up. Reading it was taking me forever because I just wasn't invested - maybe it was a "I'm not in the mood for it" kind of thing...
But more likely it was that I wasn't ROOTING for anyone!
It's the same reason I quit watching Mad Men, if I don't care what happens to the characters, I can't make myself keep going. And most of the women in this book were...kind of horrendous human beings. Except maybe Jenny - who seemed a little bit too naive to live in this town to be honest.
So I might pick it back up later, but for now, it's a no from me.

was thrilled when I was approved for an ARC of Jeneva Rose‘s newest release.
This was a fun, addictive, wild ride that immediately made me want to see it play out on screen. It has a Real Housewife’s meets Big Little Lies feel where the women are fierce and no one can be trusted. Scandals, betrayal, mean girls, and murder.
This was my third book by this author, and I’ll undoubtedly keep coming back for more.

11I think this may just be my favorite book from 2022 yet! Its like a little bit of Real Housewives Inc, sprinkled with a dash of desperate housewives and also what the women of Melrose Place would be like when they grew up!
At first it was a little daunting that it was a book with 5 POVs, but it wasn't in the least. It was fun, entertaining and it was a great ride!
Thank you so much

Oh my I dont know what to say about this book. It was so good. I loved the story line of rich Buckhead women and their cattyness that turns into murder. The Twist was awesome and such a good quick read.

Jeneva Rose’s THE PERFECT MARRIAGE is one of my very favorite thrillers — it’s one of my go-to recommendations! I’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of her new thriller, and now it’s here 🙌
Jenny owns Glow, the exclusive salon in town. Her clients are wealthy and pay top dollar for their memberships. Jenny is exposed to her clients’ secrets as they sit in her salon chair. Buckhead is a place you survive… who will wind up dead?
What I loved
✨short chapters
✨multiple POVs
✨domestic thriller feel
✨lies, betrayal, deceit
✨wealthy, drama-filled characters
I loved how unique the setting was. The characters each had their own secrets, and the competitive nature of the friend group made for some juicy drama! ONE OF US IS DEAD is a highly entertaining, binge-worthy thriller.

This story was like a typical high school drama but on steroids. Instead of angsty, entitled teenagers it was entitled middle-aged women with fake tans and and not an ounce of sincerity between the lot of them. And then there was also murder.
While the story unfolded fluidly, it was far too dragged out. I suspect it would have been okay if the storytelling was decent. It was mediocre at best. It's heavy on dialogue and the jump between point of views are almost disorienting because the chapters are so short and mostly uneventful. Nearly halfway through and nothing of note (or maybe piquing my interest) had occurred. The only thing with the vaguest hint of description was about the outfits and make-up the women in this story wore. There isn't much for scenery. Just a whole lot about what they're wearing and dialogue.
Personally, a story loses it's spark when every single character is truly awful. I can get around one or two morally grey characters but when there's no one to route for in the book, not even a villian because really the one was no better than the other in this story, it takes away from the experience. And when a story isn't even that good to begin with, you're hoping for a character to support.
This story had huge potential to be great, the plot was not that bad and I liked the little twist in the end but because I was so annoyed by that point because of the long windedness of the story, I couldn't fully appreciate it. All in all, a clichéd, mediocre murder mystery that I don't think I'd recommend.
Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for this arc.
