Gretchen and Josh have a chance encounter at the airport that turns into something much bigger. I had high expectations based on the description and unfortunately this book fell flat. I felt like it was mostly just smut and hooking up, how did they even fall in love? did they have a conversation longer than 2 turns in this whole story? Not for me.

I'm not a fan of sports related rom coms but I do love baseball, it's the only sport beside college basketball that I can stand to watch. So I wanted to give this one a try when I read the blurb about a minor league baseball player as the hero. I enjoyed getting to know both Gretchen and Joshua who I loved both equally from the beginning. That normally doesn't happen.

Brave wine sommelier and baseball fan Gretchen makes a bold move when she spots her favorite player en route to Vegas, and buys him a cup of coffee, fully knowing he's just been "sent down" post-slump. They connect and then, their one-night stand turns into a real but challenging relationship, with job insecurities on top of the long-distance romance. Set in Canada and the US, with plenty of sportsball and inside baseball to captivate readers who swoon over passionate pro-athletes, and culinary and wine details that are enticing to foodies. A solid read - Good Read reviewers note Out of His League was published on Wattpad, and kudos to Richardson for a solid novel with a broad appeal.
I read a digital advance reader's review copy of #OutOfHisLeague from #NetGalley

This book was okay... There are a few moments that I found weird... Not weird, I don't know, it just feels like something is missing but I'm not really sure what it is but everything is okay. I didn't get the exciting feelings that much while reading this. So, my opinion is, if you want to read it, then read... If you don't, then don't. The main point here is, for me, it's not a bad book.

Oh man, first things first, the SMUT. Gretchen might’ve said she was new to that type of crazy, spontaneity, but with the way she took control and did her thing, you wouldn’t believe it.
Unfortunately the writing style didn’t do it for me, but the premise of the book was still really interesting and I know plenty of people who actually prefer this type or writing!
This book is an instalove and things move pretty fast so if you’re more into Slowburn then this might not be for you.
I wish we could get a separate novella or something exploring Shar’s love story because she was an interesting character, albeit her annoying moments.
Gretchen and Josh were super cute and I like the fact that although Gretchen was a fan it wasn’t in any way creepy or too much!
Anyway, this was pretty good! Not my favorite but not the worst I’ve read either.

A cute story of taking a chance and falling in love. I found my self rooting for them and wanting to know more about their rollercoaster love story.

I absolutely loved this story so much! I loved that it took no time to get to Josh and Gretchens story. I felt they had great chemistry and loved that against the odds they came back together each and every time. The sex was 🔥 too! I gave this one an easy 5 stars!

This was such a cute read and very enjoyable! Right away I was intrigued by the characters and wanted to get to know them. The romance is honestly one of my favorite parts and it did not disappoint!

I saw this cover and read the blurb and totally wanted to check this book out. It starts off cute with Joshua and Gretchen meeting at an airport. Gretchen is your average take no risk play by the rules women. She decides to do something out of character and approach her favorite baseball player with a cup of coffee. It is insta love with undeniable connection. I think its started off well but I feel like some parts where not realistic. It's a whirlwind story where a famous man sweeps the MC off her feet. I also feel the story was missing some key aspects in plot. I liked it a lot and feel if your in the mood for some spice and insta love than this would be a great book to read. Overall its a fun sports romance read.
Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad books for allowing me to view the arc for an honest review.

I had read this book before when it was on Wattpad and i loved it then and i love it even more now! The chemistry between Gretchen and Joshua is amazing, with the dialogue a solid 10/10. I also loved the baseball aspect, i'm not an avid sport fan but i like the mix of romance and sport in this context! Definitely looking to read more books by Caroline Richardson!!

A good, very fast read. Loved josh, Gretchen cried a lot but also loved her. Thought it was a good representation of how to make a relationship work.
Now hoping there’s a sequel for Sharla!

I was super excited about this book cause it was about wine, baseball, and romance. What could go wrong?
"Out of His League" follows professional baseball player Joshua Malvern and sommelier Gretchen Harper. Both are on the same plane headed to Vegas, and it's evident that Josh has had a bad day. Gretchen buys Josh a coffee – being a fangirl, she knows his order, so begins their weekend-filled romance. However, the two live entirely different lives in different cities. Will they find their happily ever after together?
The premise was cute, and I think it falls under the category of instalove. You are just thrown into the romance of it, with barely any setup. Not that I'm against it, but the characters were very flat, and the book's pacing also threw me off as I would have to reread certain parts because I couldn't process what was happening.
Overall, it was very cheesy with a dash of drama. Unfortunately, this book was just definitely not for me.
Huge thank you to #NetGalley for sharing this advanced reading copy of this book with me in exchange for my honest review.

Quick read, fun and sexy. Could have been shorter if they cut the needless drama that was too drawn out. Perfect holiday read!

Everyone wants to meet their celebrity crush, and at an airport? The idea of this book gave me butterflies. The charming baseball player, and the fan. What could be more perfect?
The book seemed rushed. I mean within the fist 28 pages they were making out and thinking about s*x. I understand the time span this all takes place in, but it just is so rushed! I think their relationship needed more time to slowest progress..
I think this book has a lot of potential! I think it just needs another quick revision to make it better! I enjoyed reading the book, and am so glad I had the opportunity to be one of the first to read it!

This one was basically a collection of tropes with little else going on, which is fine. Sometimes you just want to read something light and silly.
Unfortunately, insta-love (or more accurately lust, in this case) is my least favorite trope and it didn't help that we never really moved past that. The characters aren't too bad but their relationship doesn't evolve past the instant chemistry of page 1, and that is not for me.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Very cute read, but the insta love was not my favorite. The characters felt very flat and at times I wasn’t sure why I should want them together other than the whole point of romance novels.

Last book of 2021. Cute and spicy romance. Enjoyable even though some of the baseball terms were incorrect.

I am a huge fan of books that include sports and romance, so reading the premise I was super excited for this read. It was a pleasant read, it was a little fast-paced and I found myself skimming instead of actively reading. If someone is in the mood for a light read then this would be fantastic! I can definitely see an audience absolutely loving this… but I never fully “bought in” but that may just be me!

I really enjoyed this romance. It was a cute meet, had some tension between the lovers as well the difficulty the characters had to overcome individually. I appreciated that this story showed time passing and it wasn't just a week- or month-long love at first sight and they are married a few months later.

Gretchen, a rule-book following sommelier, sees her favorite baseball player at the airport and buys him coffee on a whim. Josh, who was just moved down from the majors to the minors, is feeling down and this chance meeting with Gretchen seems like just the thing to get him out of his depressed funk. The connect instantly and decide that an uncharacteristic weekend of fun is just what they need. But, when the weekend is over, neither are ready to for their fling to end.
I seem to be in the minority on this one, but I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I hoped I would. The storyline was a little unrealistic in that after two days together, they are in love and ready to turn their lives upside down to make things work. Then, for two people who are so in love, and pining over each other for months, they go back and forth about being together. Also, the language was a turn off for me.
